Using a Rheometries Dynamic Analyzer (RDA II), the dynamic viscoelastic properties of a semi-solid ointment base (vaseline) in large amplitude oscillatory shear flow fields were measured over a temperature range of $25{\sim}45^{\circ}C$ and the linear viscoelastic behavior in small amplitude oscillatory shear flow fields was investigated over a wide range of angular frequencies. In this article, the nonlinear viscoelastic behavior was reported from the experimentally obtained data and the effect of temperature on this behavior was discussed in detail. In addition, the angular frequency and temperature dependencies of a linear viscoelastic behavior were explained. Finally, the applicability of a time-temperature superposition principle originally developed for polymeric materials was examined using a shift factor. Main results obtained from this study can be summarized as follows : (1) At very small strain amplitude region, vaseline shows a linear viscoelastic behavior independent of the imposed deformation magnitudes. Above a critical strain amplitude $({\gamma}_{0}=0.1{\sim}0.2%)$, however, vaseline exhibits a nonlinear viscoelastic behavior ; indicating that both the storage modulus and dynamic viscosity are sharply decreased with increasing deformation magnitude. (2) In large amplitude oscillatory shear flow fields, an elastic behavior (storage modulus) has a stronger strain amplitude dependence and begins to show a nonlinear behavior at a smaller strain amplitude region than does a viscous behavior (dynamic viscosity). (3) In small amplitude oscillatory shear flow fields, the storage modulus as well as the loss modulus are continuously increased as an increase in angular frequency and an elastic nature is always superior to a viscous behavior over a wide range of angular frequencies. (4) A time-temperature superposition principle can successfully be applicable to vaseline. This finding allows us to estimate the dynamic viscoelastic behavior of vaseline over an extraordinarily extended range (11 decades) of angular frequencies inaccessible from the experimentally measured range (4 decades).

The deformation behavior of commercial stainless steels under hot rolling conditions was investigated by means of hot compression tests performed in the temperature range 800$^{\circ}C$ to 1200$^{\circ}C$. The measured flow stress-strain curves were analyzed by using a simple flow stress model. It was found that the reference strength of stainless steels are much higher than that of carbon steel and that nitrogen and molybdenum alloying greatly increases flow stress of austenitic stainless steel. Ferritic and duplex stainless steel showed comparatively low flow stresses. The flow stress model, which correlates the flow stress with temperature and strain rate, was applied to predict roll forces during hot-plate rolling of stainless steels.
This study presents the theoretical approach for volume concentration, velocity profile, and granular discharge on the fluid-granule mixed flow downstream of the scour hole at the outlet of the hydraulic structure. Concept of dilatant model was applied for the stress-strain relationships of fluid-granule mixed flow since the flow downstream of the scour hole corresponds to debris flow, where momentum transfers through particle collisions. Mathematical formulations were derived using momentum equation and stress-strain relation of the fluid-granule mixture. Velocity profile under the assumption of uniform concentration over flowing layer showed the downward convex type. Deposition angle of downstream hump was found to be a function of an upstream slope angle, a dynamic friction angle and a volume concentration irrespective of flow itself, Granular discharge and the overflow depth were obtained with given values of inflow rates. Experimental results showed relatively good agreements with theoretical ones.

The characteristics of metal matrix composite under dynamic tension at high strain rates up to the order of $10^3/sec$ is studied by using newly developed apparatus. The composite material processed in this research is aluminum-alumina metal matrix composites, arid fabricated by compocasting with the fiber volume fraction from 5 to 20%. The whisker and matrix material used in this paper were ${\delta}-Al_2O_3$ and Al-6061, respectively. The mechanical tests performed in this research are low and high strain rate tensile test. At low strain-rate tensile test, the modulus of elasticity and the ultimate tensile strength of the composites were improved about 77 pct. and 55 pct., respectively comparing with the unreinforced materials. At strain-rate from $10^{-3}\;to\;10^3/s$, the effect of strain-rate on the modulus, ultimate strength, flow stress is determined. Also the effect of strain rate on the modulus, ultimate tensile strength, flow stress and elongation to failures were investigated.
The behavior of metallic materials at high strain rates shows different characteristics from those in quasi-static deformation. Therefore, the strain rate should be considered when simulating crash events. The objective of this paper is to evaluate the dynamic tensile characteristics of SPRC440 as a function of the volume fraction of phases. As-received SPRC440 is composed of ferrite and pearlite phases. However, ferrite and martensite phases were observed after heat treatment at $730^{\circ}C$ and $780^{\circ}C$ for 5 minutes, as expected by calculations based on the curves from dilatometry tests. High cross-head speed tensile tests were performed to acquire strain-stress curves at various strain rates ranging from 0.001 to $300\;s^{-1}$, which are typical in real vehicle crashes. It was observed that the flow stress increases with the strain rate and this trend was more pronounced in the as-received specimens consisting of ferrite and pearlite phases. It is speculated that the dislocation density in each phase has an influence on the strain rate sensitivity.
This paper suggest tungsten (W)-carbon (C)-nitrogen (N) thin films for diffusion barrier that W is main material and C and N are additives. W-C-N thin films are deposited with fixed rates of W and C but with a variation of $N_2$ gas flow and W-C-N thin films are heated at $600^{\circ}C$. From the experimental results, the variation of elastoplastic region for W-C-N thin film measured by tribological property is larger than that of elastic region with a variation of $N_2$ gas flow. These results show that the $N_2$ gas flow is more directly related with the elastoplastic region of W-C-N thin film. Nanoindenting test executed 16 times consecutively and we got the stress-strain curve graphs and hardness datas at each sample. Through the stress-strain curve graphs, the standard diviation of stress-strain curve for $N_2$ gas flow rate of 2.0 sccm is smaller than that of 0, 0.5, 1.5 sccm. Consequently, the physical stability of W-C-N thin film depends on the flow rate of $N_2$ gas.
Orthodontic tooth movement is a unique process which tooth, solid material is moving into hard tissue, bone. Orthodontic force in general provides the strain to the PDL and alveolar bone, which in turn generates the interstitial fluid flow(in detail, fluid flow in PDL and canaliculi). As a results of matrix strain, periodontal ligament cells and bone cells are deformed, releasing variety of cytokines, chemokines, and growth factors. These molecules lead to the orthodontic tooth movement(OTM). In these inflammation and tissue remodeling sites, all of the cells could closely communicate with one another, flowing the information for tissue remodeling. To accelerate the rate of OTM in future, local injection of single growth factor(GF) or a combination of multiple GFs in the periodontal tissues might intervene to stimulate the rate of OTM. Corticotomy is effective and safe to accelerate OTM.
The torsion tests in the range of $550~800^{\circ}C$, $5.0{\times}10^{-3}~5.0{\times}10^0/sec$ were performed to study the effects of strain rate$(\.{\varepsilon})$ and temperature(T) on the hot strength of Cu-Zn alloy. High temperature flow stresses of this alloy increased with increasing $\.{\varepsilon}$ and/or decreasing T, and than the more grain refinement could be obtained. The flow curves exhibited a peak followed by a steady steady state regime as a result of dynamic recrystallization. The hot strength dependence of $\.{\varepsilon}$ and T was described by a hyperbolic sine law, $\.{\varepsilon}=A(sinh0.017{\sigma})^4.81$exp(-216KJ/mol). Hot strength could be reduced at the arbitary condition, $\.{\varepsilon}$ and T, by constitutive parameter Z(Zenner-Hollomon parameter), $Z=A(sinh{\alpha}{\sigma})^n=\.{\varepsilon}$exp(Q/RT).

Non-proportional loading tests of Nylon 66 at room temperature exhibit path dependent behavior and plasticity-relaxation interactions. The uniaxial formulation of the viscoplasticity theory based on overstress (VBO), which has been used to reproduce the nonlinear strain rate sensitivity, relaxation, significant recovery and cyclic softening behaviors of Nylon 66, is extended to three-dimensions to predict the response in strain-controlled, comer-path tests. VBO consists of a flow law that is easily written for either the stress or the strain as the independent variable. The flow law depends on the overstress, the difference between the stress and the equilibrium stress that is a state variable in VBO. The evolution law of the equilibrium stress in turn contains two additional state variables, the kinematic stress and the isotropic stress. The simulations show that the constitutive model is competent at modeling the deformation behavior of Nylon 66 and other solid polymers.

the high temperature deformation behavior of 304 stainless steel was characterized by the hot torsion test. Continuous deformation was carried out at the temperature ranges 900-110$0^{\circ}C$ and the strain rate ranges 5x10-2~5/sec. The formulation of the flow stress curves was developed as subtraction form which was based on dynamic softening mechanisms The volume fraction of dynamic recrystallization and the mean grain size could be expressed as a function of deformation variables temperature (T) strain ($\varepsilon$) strain rate ($\varepsilon$) The calculated values of flow stress and mean grain size could be well matched with experimental values.
