Drone images are being used more and more actively in the fields of surveying and spatial information, and are rapidly replacing existing aerial and satellite images. The technology of quickly acquiring real-time data at low cost and processing it is now being applied to actual industries beyond research. However, there are also problems encountered as this progresses. When high-resolution spatial information is acquired using a general 2D flight plan for a terrain with sever undulations, problems arise due to the difference in resolution of the data. In particular, when a low-altitude high-resolution image is taken using a drone in a mountainous or steep terrain, there may be a problem in image matching due to a resolution difference caused by terrain undulations. This problem occurs because a drone acquires data while flying on a 2D plane at a fixed altitude, just like conventional aerial photography. In order to acquire high-quality 3D data using a drone, the scale difference for the shooting distance should be considered. In addition, in order to obtain facade images of large structures, it is necessary to take images in 3D space. In this study, in order to improve the disadvantages of the 2D flight method, a 3D flight plan was established for the study area, and it was confirmed that high-quality 3D spatial information could be obtained in this way.
In a large corpus-based speech synthesizer, a break, which is a parameter influencing the naturalness and intelligibility, is used as an important feature during a unit selection process. Japanese is a language having intonations, which ate indicated by the relative differences in pitch heights and the APs(Accentual Phrases) are placed according to the changes of the accents while a break occurs on a boundary of the APs. Although a break can be predicted by using J-ToBI(Japanese-Tones and Break Indices), which is a rule-based or statistical approach, it is very difficult to predict a break exactly due to the flexibility. Therefore, in this paper, a method is to conduct a unit search by dividing breaks into two types, such as a fixed break and a flexible break, in order to use the advantages of a large-scale corpus, which includes various types of prosodies. As a result of an experiment, the proposed unit selection method contributed itself to enhance the naturalness of synthesized speeches.
This paper introduces a new technique that reduces the search times and Improves the accuracy of motion estimation using high temporal and spatial correlation of motion vector. Instead of using the fixed first search Point of previously proposed search algorithms, the proposed method finds more accurate first search point as to compensating searching area using high temporal and spatial correlation of motion vector. Therefore, the main idea of proposed method is to find first search point to improve the performance of motion estimation and reduce the search times. The proposed method utilizes the direction of the same coordinate block of the previous frame compared with a block of the current frame to use temporal correlation and the direction of the adjacent blocks of the current frame to use spatial correlation. Based on these directions, we compute the first search point. We search the motion vector in the middle of computed first search point with two fixed search patterns. Using that idea, an efficient adaptive predicted direction search algorithm (APDSA) for block matching motion estimation is proposed. In the experimental results show that the PSNR values are improved up to the 3.6dB as depend on the Image sequences and advanced about 1.7dB on an average. The results of the comparison show that the performance of the proposed APDSA algorithm is better than those of other fast search algorithms whether the image sequence contains fast or slow motion, and is similar to the performance of the FS (Full Search) algorithm. Simulation results also show that the performance of the APDSA scheme gives better subjective picture quality than the other fast search algorithms and is closer to that of the FS algorithm.
This study of purpose was to define the relationship between the stress and climacteric symptoms of middle-aged women in order to provide basic data for the development of women's health care program as nursing intervention. The research tools used were a Soon-Young Park's stress questionnaire (4 points scale) and a self diagnostic MENSI scale (3 points scale) developed by a research team of Ill-Yang Pharmacy Co. This research was conducted in Korea in Muan-Gun. Chonnam province, from 22th November to 20th December 1999. The research used a survey design. Seven hundred eleven healthy middle-aged women, aged 40 to 64, and were a convenience sample by stratified ratio using the matching fixed residential and aging blocks. The data were analyzed by GLM. Pearson correlation coefficient and Scheffe test using SAS/ PC+. The results were summarized as follows : 1. The percentage of psychological stress with the following items was: fatigue and enervation, 70.0%; nervous, 61.8%; weakness, 58.5%; The percentage of physical stress with the following items were ; fatigue of eye. 82.3%; backache, 78.0%; headache, 73.8%. 2. The level of psychological stress was 40% of below average level (0-5 points), 31.7 of average level (6-12points), 20.8% of precaution level (13-19 points), and 7.5% of warning level (over 20points). The level of physical stress were 20.1% of below average level (0-5 points), 34.8 of average level (6-12 points), 29.4 of precaution level (13-19 points), and 15.7% of warning level (over 20 points). There were higher physical stress level than psychological stress level of the subjects. 3. The percentage of climacteric symptoms with the following items were : numbness, 75.3%; forgetfulness, 71.0%; pain of joints, 71.0%. The level of climacteric symptoms were 61.8% of mild level 1(10-15 points), 33.0% of moderate level (16-30 points), 5.2% of severe level (over 31 points). 4. There were high positive correlations significantly between the climacteric symptoms and the psychological stress (r=.564. P<0.000), and between the climacteric symptoms and the physical stress of the subjects(r=.678, P<0.000). 5. There were significant differences in the climacteric symptoms of the subjects among below average level, average level, precaution level, and warning level of the psychological stress (F=74.108. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for open/closed eye detection based on modified Hausdorff distance. The proposed algorithm consists of two parts, face detection and open/closed eye detection parts. To detect faces in an image, MCT (Modified Census Transform) is employed based on characteristics of the local structure which uses relative pixel values in the area with fixed size. Then, the coordinates of eyes are found and open/closed eyes are detected using MHD (Modified Hausdorff Distance) in the detected face region. Firstly, face detection process creates an MCT image in terms of various face images and extract criteria features by PCA(Principle Component Analysis) on offline. After extraction of criteria features, it detects a face region via the process which compares features newly extracted from the input face image and criteria features by using Euclidean distance. Afterward, the process finds out the coordinates of eyes and detects open/closed eye using template matching based on MHD in each eye region. In performance evaluation, the proposed algorithm achieved 94.04% accuracy in average for open/closed eye detection in terms of test video sequences of gray scale with 30FPS/$320{\times}180$ resolution.

In this paper, design and implementation of a very compact and cost effective front-end module are presented for IEEE 802.16 FWA(fixed Wireless Access) in the 40 GHz band. A multi-layer LTCC(Low Temperature Co-fred Ceramic) technology with cavity process to achieve excellent electrical performances is used to fabricate the front-end module. The wirebond matching circuit design of switch input/output port and waveguide transition to connect antenna are optimally designed to keep transmission loss low. To reduce the size of the front-end module, the dielectric waveguide filter is developed instead of the metal waveguide filter. The LTCC is composed of 6 layers(with the thickness of a layer of 100 um) having a relative dielectric constant of 7.1. The front-end module is implemented in a volume of $30{\times}7{\times}0.8mm^3$ and shows an overall insertion loss < 5.3 dB, and image rejection value > 49 dB.
Since the multi-view video is a set of video sequences captured by multiple array cameras for the same three-dimensional scene, it can provide multiple viewpoint images using geometrical manipulation and intermediate view generation. Although multi-view video allows us to experience more realistic feeling with a wide range of images, the amount of data to be processed increases in proportion to the number of cameras. Therefore, we need to develop efficient coding methods. One of the possible approaches to multi-view video coding is to generate an intermediate image using view interpolation method and to use the interpolated image as an additional reference frame. The previous view interpolation method for multi-view video coding employs fixed size block matching over the pre-determined disparity search range. However, if the disparity search range is not proper, disparity error may occur. In this paper, we propose an efficient view interpolation method using initial disparity estimation, variable block-based estimation, and pixel-level estimation using adjusted search ranges. In addition, we propose a multi-view video coding method based on H.264/AVC to exploit the intermediate image. Intermediate images have been improved about $1{\sim}4dB$ using the proposed method compared to the previous view interpolation method, and the coding efficiency have been improved about 0.5 dB compared to the reference model.
When multiple features are presented in the image the computational models for stereopsis select the most activated matches through the excitatory and inhibitory interactions among all possible matches. Using the random-dot stereogram with two surfaces. we investigate whether human binocular mechanism selects the most activated matches. The dots consisting a surface lying in a fixation plane were selected randomly while each of the dots consisting the other surface was paired with each of the original dots in the following manner. After finding the position of each dots in the original random pattern we placed an additional dot to the left and to the right of the original position in each of the left and right image of a stereogram respectively. The luminance of additional dots was varied while that of the original random dots was fixed so that the hypothetical matches presumably could be activated differently. Across the luminance condition the depth of each surface was measured to examine whether matches to be selected were changed depending on the activation level of possible matches. When the luminance of two patterns was within 30% of one another observers perceived an opaque surface. Beyond this value two transparent surfaces were seen with the magnitude of perceived depth varying with relative luminance of two patterns. When original pattern was brighter one additional surface was perceived at the depth corresponding to the disparity of original pattern. When original dot was dimmer. however the depth of an additional surface corresponded to the disparity of newly introduced pattern. These results suggest that there are dynamic interactions within the matching process whereby highly activated matches inhibit weaker one.
We have deposited the bilayer consisted of the underlayer and the overlayer by using DC magnetron sputter on Single crystal MgO (001) substrate. This bilayer was fabricated at fixed annealing temperature and time. We have controlled agglomeration effect by changing of the bilayer thickness. Finally, we have made the self-organization and nano-structured film. In this processing, we have made nano-dot which consists of the underlayer and the overlayer, unlike the existing method called the agglomeration effect in the single layer. The underlayer has deposited using Ti, Cr and Co. And the overlayer has deposited with Ag. Through the analysis of Atomic force microscopy (AFM), the microstructure of underlayer is observed by AFM to confirm the formation of nano-dot. As the nano-dot through above processing, we have found that the nano-dot has the different shape. As a result, when we manufactured nano-dot through the agglomeration effect of bi-layer, the best matching material is Ti for underlayer. And also, we have found that MgO/Ti/Ag samples have been grown expitaxially toward the direction of MgO (001) by X-ray Diffraction analysis.
The effect of circumvaginal muscle(CVM) exercises to improve sexual function in married women has not been investigated by currently acceptable research methods, nor have appropriate instruments and techniques to carry out such investigation been available. The purpose of this research was to study the effect of CVM exercise on sexual function, and of measuring CVM function after CVM exercises. The research tools used were a modified Derogates Sexual Function Inventory questionnaire and a pressure sensitive intravaginal balloon device. This research was conducted in Kwangju-city and Chonnam province, Korea from July, 1994 to July, 1995. The research used a non-equivalent control pre-post test quasi-experimental design. Forty-five healthy married female volunteers, aged 30-58, and were randomly assigned by age using the matching fixed-length blocks to two groups. The experimental group consisted of 21 women who were assigned a 25-minute per day CVM home exercise program for six weeks. The control group of 24 women did not do the CVM home exercises. The CVM home exercise was developed by Dougherty(1989a) and adopted to Korea by Lee (1993). Data were analyzed by $x^{2-}$test, Paired t-test, Spearman product-moment correlation using SAS /P $C^+. The results are summarized as follows : 1. There were no significant differences in the characteristics of the subjects between the experimental and control groups before the CVM home exercises. 2. Hypothesis 1 that married women who participated in CVM home exercises would have higher mean scores on the sexual function(SF) than in those who did not participate in home exercise was supported. 3. Hypothesis 2 that married women who participated in CVM home exercises would have higher vaginal pressure on SF than in those who did not participate in home exercises was supported (mean maximum pressure, t=-7.338, P<.0001, peak maximum pressure, t=-11.164, P<.0001). 4. Hypothesis 3 that the more often(number of days) and the more frequent (numbers of time per day) that married women do CVM home exercise, the higher their mean scores on SF and vaginal pressures was supported(r=0.233, P<.01 ; r=0.352, P<.05). A six week CVM home exercise program using a tape recording showed that SF can be improved. Results of this study showed that married women who exercise on a regular basis for six weeks improve their sexual function and increase the mean vaginal pressure and peak maximum pressure (tested by electronic monitor). In conclusion, CVM exercise is effective in increasing SF.SF.
