  • Multivariate statistical analysis was applied to 110 dam heightening reservoir to classify the building conditions for waterfront centered around cultivated area using data of land cover, landscape, additional water quantity, local economic, tourism resources, and accessibility related variables. Five factors were extracted through factor analysis based on eigen value criteria of more than one. These five factors together account for 68.2% of the total variance. Characteristics of five factors for the downstream of dam heightening reservoirs are building conditions of waterfront, economic conditions, additional water quantity, eco-tours, and accessibility of tourism resources respectively. Five clusters were classified through cluster analysis based on factor score. The classified result shows that third cluster has remunerative terms for building waterfront.

  • In this paper, we tried to find the bottleneck factors of firms' innovative activities using the KIS (Korea Innovation Survey) 2002 data. Employing the method of factor analysis, we identified five bottleneck factors of innovative activities: organizational bottleneck factor, innovative bottleneck factor, economic bottleneck factor, supply-chain bottleneck factor, and market-environment bottleneck factor. Using regression analysis which includes the five bottleneck factors, industry characteristics variables (market concentration, technological opportunity, appropriability), and other control variables, we found (1) that all the five bottleneck factors are negatively related with innovative activities, (2) that technological opportunity and appropriability conditions are positively related with innovative activities, (3) that there is an inverted-U relationship between market concentration and innovative activities, and (4) that firm size has no significant influence on firms' innovative activities.

  • Objective: To examine the relations between satisfaction in major, academic achievement and five personality factors of physical therapy students. Design: Questionnaire study. Methods: In order for a complete enumeration when selecting study subjects, we selected five representative schools through raffles. For about three weeks from May 21st to June 16th 2012, we distributed self-administered questionnaires comprised of questions related to five personality factor characteristics, satisfaction in major and academic achievement. Total of 510 questionnaires were distributed and 442 questionnaires were returned. Except the castle is not answered or unanswered call 73 questionnaire collected data from the 369 call. And 369 questionnaires were used for analysis. The frequency analysis was conducted to examine general characteristics of subjects. Results: In the analysis of differences in personality factors for each individual variable in accordance with sex, women had higher degree of neuroticism than men (p<0.05). Also men showed higher openness than women (p<0.05). In the analysis of differences in personality factors for each individual variable in accordance with age, the lower the age was, the higher the degree of neuroticism was (p<0.05). For satisfaction in major, "Satisfaction in school life" and "Motive for selecting the major"were significant factors (p<0.05). academic achievement, "School type" and "Motive for selecting the major" were significant factors (p<0.05). Conclusions: In regards to the satisfaction in major and academic achievement, "Motive for selecting the major" was the major significant factor. Students who had high interest in their majors expressed higher satisfaction, which the in turn correlated with higher academic achievement.

  • Since the VR market is expected to have a high growth, this study aimed to investigate the human factor-related determinants of user satisfaction with mobile VR headsets. A pre-study of customer reviews was conducted with the help of semantic network analysis to identify the core keywords for understanding negative and positive predictors of mobile VR headset experiences. Through laboratory testing with three different commercial models, the main study measured and identified the predictors of user satisfaction. From the results, five factors were extracted as valid predictor variables and used for regression analysis. These factors were immersion, VR sickness, usability, wear-ability and menu navigation interface. All the five predictors were proved to be significant determinants of the perceived user satisfaction with mobile VR headsets. Usability was the strongest predictor, followed by VR sickness and wear-ability. Practical and theoretical implications of the results were discussed.

  • The food attitudes of 285 Korean female students attending a secondary school in Seoul were examined with respect to the 5 food groups of the Korean Food Tower : grain products, vegetables and fruits, meat, milk, and fats and sweets. An instrument with 22 items was utilized to measure food attitudes toward the five food groups. The items were categorized into five factors through factor analysis to obtain a description of the participants' food attitudes. The five factors are conscious choice of food, health concerns, economics and time influence, interest in foods, and foods that energize. Several facts emerged from examining the food attitudes. The most evident was their response to the items concerning the influence of economics and time on food choice, which the majority consider not limiting their food consumption. Most participants gave favorable responses for vegetables and fruits on all the five factors, but gave unfavorable responses for meat group and fats and sweets in health concerns. They also gave favorable responses for“foods that energize”for all except fats and sweets. Four of the total 25 relationships among food intake (five groups) and food attitudes (five factors) were found to have significant positive correlations (p < .01). • To enhance torque density by harmonic current injection, optimal slot/pole combinations for five-phase permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) with fractional-slot concentrated windings (FSCW) are chosen. The synchronous and the third harmonic winding factors are calculated for a series of slot/pole combinations. Two five-phase PMSM, with general FSCW (GFSCW) and modular stator FSCW (MFSCW), are analyzed and compared in detail, including the stator structures, star of slots diagrams, and MMF harmonic analysis based on the winding function theory. The analytical results are verified by finite element method, the torque characteristics and phase back-EMF are also taken into considerations. Results show that the MFSCW PMSM can produce higher average torque, while characterized by more MMF harmonic contents and larger ripple torque.

  • This study focused on the development of scales measuring the characteristics related to appearance management behaviors of businessmen for on-line image consulting. The purposes of this study were, 1) to develop a tool which can measure the ideal image, 2) to develop a tool which can measure personality, and 3) to develop a scale measuring the physical characteristics and body cathexis. The data were collected from 380 businessmen in Seoul, Korea and were analyzed by frequency, factor analysis, reliability test, cluster analysis, correlation analysis, one-wav ANOVA and Duncan test. The results from this study were as follows .1)Five factors of the ideal image were identified: stylish, able, active, neat/confident and easy. The total variance was 74.29$\%$ and Cronbach's alpha of the 5 factors ranged from .74-.90. One item was selected to represent each factor. 2) Five factors of personality were identified: preference of social function, sociable, dynamic, achievement-motivated, and success-oriented. The totai variance was 60.63$\%$ and Cronbach's alpha ranged from .56-.83. One item was selected to represent each factor. 3) Five factors of body cathexis were identified: satisfaction with girth, length, physique, nose and eyes. The total variance was 73_46$\%$ and Cronbach's alpha ranged from .68-.85.

  • The bakery cafe and dessert industry in Korea is expanding, but it requires continuous innovation to remain competitive and adaptable. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effect of five sense factors on customer satisfaction and relationship continuance intention in Korean dessert cafes. A survey was conducted among 200 consumers who had visited a Korean dessert cafe in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. Regression analysis was conducted for hypothesis testing, and the research results are as follows. First, among the five sensory factors in Korean dessert cafes, gustatory, visual, and olfactory factors positively impacted customer satisfaction and relationship continuance intention. These results suggest that the taste and presentation of Korean desserts in cafes and the aroma of both the desserts and the café are essential. However, auditory and tactile factors did not impact customer satisfaction and intention to continue the relationship. Second, customer satisfaction improved the intention to continue the relationship. This finding suggests that improving customer satisfaction in Korean dessert cafes positively impacts maintaining customer loyalty. Therefore, operators of Korean dessert cafes should consider gustatory, visual, and olfactory aspects when developing dessert menus and planning the physical environment of their restaurants.
