  • Performance based fire engineering design should be developed through basic survey and fundamental element such as analytic program for evaluation of fire performance of building. The basic elements will be expressed to the surveys of the structures of building laws, regulation and the fundamental elements consist of technical guidances contained design fires, heat analysis, determination of structural performance.

신문사설 분석을 통한 산불에 대한 사회적 인식연구 (Study on Korea Social Perceptions on the Forest Fires of Newspaper Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 신문 사설의 분석을 통해 산불에 대한 사회적 인식을 형성하는 조건, 산불에 대한 사회적 인식의 내용, 인식과 산불관리 정책의 연관성을 알아보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구대상은 1988년 1월 1일부터 2017년 5월 15일까지 5개 중앙지에 보도된 총 44건의 산불 관련 사설을 대상으로 하였다. 산불에 대한 사회적 인식을 형성하는 조건은 산불 관련 사설 수와 산불현상의 특징의 증감을 비교하여 분석하였다. 산불에 대한 사회적 인식은 산불 관련 사설의 범주와 주요 주제어, '산불관리주체'와 '산불방지대책'에 관한 사회적 인식의 내용 및 산불관리정책과의 연관성으로 나누어 Nvivo11을 통해 데이터 범주화, 단어별 사용빈도 분석을 실시하고 사용빈도가 높은 단어를 중심으로 사설주제에 대한 맥락분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 산불이 사회적 인식을 형성하는 조건은 산불피해면적과 가장 밀접한 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 산불 관련 신문사설에서 출현 빈도가 높은 주요 주제어를 기간 및 범주별로 분석한 결과 제1분석기에는 산불관리를 총체적 산림관리의 일환으로 여기며, 산불관리 주체로서 국민에게 산불에 대한 책임과 의무를 강조하는 인식이 높은 강도로 나타났다. 제2분석기에는 산불 예방과 진화를 위한 관리 뿐 아니라 환경 생태적 시각에서 관리하려는 인식이 등장했다. 제3분석기에는 산불이 사회재난의 일종으로 관리되면서 국가가 국민을 산불로부터 보호하고, 철저하게 사회재난관리를 해야 한다고 요구하는 사회적 인식이 점차 강화되었다. 이 같은 변화는 3차 산림기본계획에서 국민 계도를 통한 산불 예방을 목표로 한 산불관리 계획이 수립되고 4차 산림기본계획에서는 산림자원의 보호와 자연생태계 보전을 목표로 한 산불관리 계획이 추진되었으며, 5차 산림기본계획에는 인명피해 예방에 관한 산불관리계획이 수립된 것과 유사한 흐름을 보였다. 산불관련 신문사설 분석을 통하여 산불에 대해 형성된 사회적 인식을 분석하고 산불정책과 비교해 본 결과 산불에 대한 사회적 인식과 산불관리 정책은 상호 연관성을 갖고 변화해왔다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • On this study, The combustion properties in 3 kinds of sandwich panels based on ISO 13784-1(Room Corner Test for Sandwich panel building systems) using FDS Version 5 modeling method were tested and analyzed. Comparative analysis for those two results between FDS and real tests were made mainly concentrating on heat release rate.

  • We investigate the various factors such as earthquake, fire, flood and deterioration factors such as carbonation, salt attack, freezing thawing, alkali-aggregate reaction effects on the school facilities. As the consequence of this study we can see that there are very relative relation between deterioration factors and disaster factors. It is the aim of this study to investigate the site analysis damaged by disaster and deterioration factors of school facilities.

  • Advantages of the deeply underground subway are underground space efficiency, high speed, decrease of noise and vibration. However, when fire occurs in the deeply underground subway station, large casualties are occurred like Daegu subway station fire due to the increase of evacuation distance. In this study, a numerical analysis was performed by using the fire and evacuation analysis program FDS+EVAC for smoke movement and evacuation in Beotigogae station among the deeply underground subway station. Heat release rate of carriage fire was set 10MW and the fire growth rate was ultrafast. As a result, the smoke move to the exit at 1085 second. The total evacuation time took 956 second.

  • In general, the insulation and protective sheaths on electrical conductors are made of combustible substances like PVC, natural or synthetic rubbers, and other organic or synthetic materials. When an electrical fire starts due to overheating of conductors/joints or sparking/arcing, the first thing to ignite is usually the insulation on the cables. When the insulation bums, the produced fumes are very toxic. To solve the problem, we have surely need the fire resistance cable that doesn't bum in a high temperature and emit toxic fume for operating a disaster prevention installation. In this paper, we have simulated the thermal analysis for the fire resistance cable according to the values of current in a overload and a short, and the values of outside flame with the fire resistance cable of the L's company product(600 V, FR-8 : Four Core) using the finite element method(Flux2D).

  • In this paper, various hazard factors are reviewed on the train fire accident in railway tunnel and subway. In case studies of systematic risk evaluation on the tunnel fire accident, we have learned the critical fire safety points for accident prevention and damage reduction such as fire-endurance of infrastructure, mortality of heat & toxic smoke, emergency situation control and management of escape requirements etc.. These hazard analysis study will contribute for improving the railway fire-safety and establishing the long-tenn safety management plan.

  • In this paper, the methodology to predict the number of deaths and possible fire propagation scenarios will be described in case of fire on a train in a tunnel. We use a probabilistic analysis method for the evaluation of possibility for each scenario and the deaths tolls are calculated with the help of the passenger evacuation simulation program. The resulting safety of passengers is displayed on a F/N graph, which could be used in part as a guideline to predict the safety level of the tunnel in fire.

Simple equations for the calculation of the temperature within the cross-section of slim floor beams under ISO Fire

  • The calculation of fire resistance for a composite structural element comprises the calculation of the temperature within its cross-section and of the load bearing capacity, considering the evolution of the steel and concrete mechanical properties, function of the temperature. The paper proposes a method to calculate the bending capacity under ISO fire, for Slim Floor systems using asymmetric steel beams, with a wider lower flange or a narrow upper flange welded onto a half hot-rolled profile. The temperatures in the cross-section are evaluated by means of empirical formulas determined through a parametrical analysis, performed with the special purpose non-linear finite element program SAFIR. Considering these formulas, the bending capacity may be calculated, using an analytical approach to determine the plastic bending moment, for different fire resistance demands. The results obtained with this simplified method are validated through numerical analysis.

  • The fire safety design of performance is fire behavior inside buildings must be scientifically described and systemized as a theory, thereby allowing application to fire safety design of buildings. In this study, experiment of fire behavior according to disposition of combustibles were performed for correlation analysis between flashover and smoke production rate in building structure. As a result, smoke production rates is happened more than 80 m2/s in compartment(ISO 9705). Also, even if the fire load for flashover to if occur smoke did not, which confirmed that the delay time of occurrence.
