  • Smoke is recognized as the major killer in fire situation. smoke often migrate to building locations remote the fire space, threatening life and elevator shafts frequently become smoke-logged, there by blocking evacuation and inhibiting rescue and fire fighting. It is the aim of this study to investigate and analyze the research trends of smoke movement in Fire.

  • 한국ㆍ일본ㆍ미국의 화재발생 실태를 분석해본 바, 미국은 1977년 3,264,500건에서 2002년 1,687,500 건으로 화재 발생건수가 크게 감소하는 경향에 있고, 일본은 1973년 73,072건을 정점으로 20년이상 6만건 전후의 화재가 발생하고 있으나, 우리나라의 경우에는 1980년 5,438건이던 화재가 급격하게 증가하여 2001년 36,169건까지 발생하였다가 2003년 31,372건의 화재가 발생하였다. 또한 화재통계 처리요령과 화재통계 보고서에 대해서도 분석해본 바, 우리나라가 가장 뒤떨어져 있으며, 화재발생건수의 정확한 산정 등 화재통계의 신뢰성을 확보하기 위한 화재통계 분류의 구체화 및 체계화의 필요성을 확인하였다.

  • The fire accident cases of several countries such as Korea, Japan, United States, etc., were collected and compared statistically. The trends of fire accidents in several countries will help us establish detailed plans for fire protection and reduce the possible fire accidents in the future. For construction of data base system, the program FADS was developed, which is operable in Windows environment.

  • Fire engineering design method based on structural performance of buildings has been developed through all of the worlds since the early 1960's. But recently the worlds have been changed rapidly in aspects of global community and mutural free trade circumstances. Therefore the concepts of fire design on structural performance need to harmonize among countries that have their own unique regulations and ISO TC 92 and SC 4 have worked in order to make the united international standard.

  • In order to minimize casualties in case of a fire in a building, it is necessary to anticipate the time required for evacuation of occupants and the delay in evacuation in advance, and prepare countermeasures for possible occurrences. In fact, various factors that cannot be predicted exist and cannot be considered by excluding them, so the risk is predicted and evaluated through quantitative evacuation modeling. In order to understand this, we analyzed domestic and international evacuation modeling research trends. For about 40 years, starting with the characteristics of human movement, an evacuation modeling technique based on scientific methods has been developed through actual fire accident cases and various real-world experiments with humans. Then, in order to analyze the natural reaction of humans, which has a decisive influence in the recognition and decision-making phase, evacuation modelling studies have been conducted in depth using psychological and physical experimental methods.

  • Due to the development of the urban economy, high-density buildings and skyscrapers have continued to increase in order to alleviate high population densities and to make efficient use of urban space. However, a fire in a high-rise building is a disaster that can lead to massive casualties and property damage because of the difficulty of firefighting and escaping. Various studies have been conducted on these high-rise buildings because they are sympathetic to these difficulties all over the world. In this paper, trends of researches and technologies related to fire in high-rise buildings are analyzed synthetically through thesis and patent data. In other words, we explored the trends of various studies that have been carried out so far through the thesis, and performed technical monitoring on actual implemented technology and newly implemented technologies through patent data. Through this research, we have studied the present and the future of technology for high-rise building fire.

  • Market-oriented networks support various tasks in the market domain. We analyze trends in structural changes of such networks to adapt to preferences in general market movements. This analysis is different from conventional ones that focus on specific technologies. Instead, we focus on the paradigm shift of network technology from connectivity functionalities to platforms supporting business domains for direct modeling. Moreover, we analyze current development efforts of technologies based on popular and realistic solutions such as FIWARE, 5GinFIRE, IBN, IDN, and HNSP. Remarkably, we detail HNSP as an open research and development platform to experiment with business models and enable co-building with developers. We observe a clear paradigm shift of communications technology from a closed to an open job-shop style.

Analysis of Secondary Battery Trends Using Topic Modeling: Focusing on Solid-State Batteries

  • As the widespread adoption and proliferation of electric vehicles continue, the secondary battery market is experiencing rapid growth. However, lithium-ion batteries, which constitute a majority of secondary batteries, present high risks of fire and explosion. Solid-state batteries are thus garnering attention as the next-generation batteries since they eliminate fire hazards and significantly reduce the risk of explosions. Against this background, the study aimed to analyze research trends and provide insights by examining 2,927 domestic papers related to solid-state batteries over the past decade (2013-2022). Specifically, we used topic modeling to extract major keywords associated with solid-state batteries research and to explore the network characteristics across major topics. The changes in research on solid-state batteries were analyzed in-depth by calculating topic dominance by year. The findings provide an overview of the emerging trends in domestic solid-state battery research, and might serve as a valuable reference in shaping long-term research directions.
