CCTV 관제에서 동작 인식을 위한 색상 기반 손과 손가락 탐지 (Skin Color Based Hand and Finger Detection for Gesture Recognition in CCTV Surveillance)

  • 본 논문은 CCTV 관제에서 동작 인식을 위한 색상 기반 손과 손가락 탐지 기술을 제안하였다. 논문의 목표는 피부색을 기반으로 한 손 영역 탐지 및 손동작 인식에 대한 강인한 방법을 제안하는 것이다. 탐지된 손 영역과 손동작 인식 기술은 에어 마우스 및 스마트 TV를 조정하는데 적용될 수 있으며 홈시어터 및 감성 센서를 기반으로 하는 장치들을 조종하기 위하여도 사용될 수 있다. 입력 영상으로부터 손 영역을 구분하기 위하여 색상 기반 윤곽선 추출 방법이 사용되어지고 윤곽이 구분된 손으로부터 y좌표값을 계산하여 손가락 끝점을 탐지한다. 손가락 끝점의 위치를 탐지한 후에, R채널만을 이용하여 추적을 하며 손동작 인식에 있어서 차영상 기법을 적용하여 잡영상 제거와 같은 강인한 면을 보여준다. 제안하는 방법으로 손가락 끝점의 추적과 손동작 인식에 관련된 많은 실험을 진행하였고, 실험 결과는 기존의 방법보다 성능 면에 있어서 96% 이상의 정확도를 보여준다.

Usefulness of Microscopic Procedures in Composite Grafts for Fingertip Injuries

  • Purpose: Fingertip amputations are the most common type of upper limb amputations. Composite grafting is a simple and cost-effective technique. Although many factors have investigated the success of composite grafting, the success rate is not high. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate whether the microscopic procedure process during composite grafts improves the success rate. Materials and Methods: Thirteen cases of unreplantable fingertip amputation underwent a microscopic resection procedure for composite graft in the operating room. The principle of the procedure was to remove the least devitalized tissue, maximize the clean tissue preservation and exact trimming of the acral vessel and to remove as many foreign bodies as possible. Results: All fingertips in the thirteen patients survived completely without additional procedures. Conclusion: Composite grafting allows for the preservation of length while avoiding the donor site morbidity of locoregional flaps. Most composite grafts are performed as quickly as possible in a gross environment. However, we take noticed the microscopic resection. This process is thought to increase the survival rate for the following reasons. First, the minimal resection will maximize the junction surface area and increase serum imbibition. Second, sophisticated trimming of injured distal vessels will increase the likelihood of inosculation. Third, accurate foreign body removal will reduce the probability of infection and make it possible to increase the concentration and efficiency in a microscopic environment. Although there is a need for more research into the mechanisms, we recommend using a composite graft under the microscopic environment.

유연한 인간형 로봇 손의 설계 (Design of a Dexterous Anthropomorphic Robot Hand)

  • According to the study of grasping of the human hand, it is noted that the metacarpal link of the thumb plays the key role in power grasping. Also the face of fingertip can be discriminated into five parts depending on the grasping modalities such as pinch grasp, fingertip grasp and power grasp. In this paper, the design of the anthropomorphic robot hand which has a thumb and three fingers is proposed. A difference of SKKU hand II from the previous gripperlike robot hand is that the metacarpal bone is connected between the thumb and the palm. This thumb mechanism is specially designed to get the degree of freedom which can realize flexible motions relative to objects. Based on the analysis, the hand mechanism is developed. Since the driving circuits for the hand are embedded in the hand, only the communication lines supporting CAN protocol with DC power cable are necessary as the input. A new robot is manufactured and feasibility of the hand is validated through preliminary experiments.

  • 오늘날 인간은 기계와의 상호의사소통을 이용하여 기계를 더욱 발전시켜가고 있다. 시각기반인지시스템을 비롯한 여러 HCI(Human Computer Interaction)시스템 중 손가락 제스처를 인식, 추적하는 기술은 HCI 시스템에서 매우 중요한 부분을 차지하고 있다. 이 논문에서는 손가락을 구분하기 위해서 제한된 배경과 복잡한 배경에서의 손가락을 구분할 뿐만 아니라 배경과 전경을 분리하는 차영상을 이용하여 더욱더 효과적으로 손가락을 구분해내는 방법을 이용한다. 손가락을 구분하기 위해서는 미리 정의해놓은 손가락 끝 이미지들과 Template-Matching 을 통하여 손가락을 인식한다. 그리고 인식된 손가락을 추적한 후 미리 정의해놓은 제스처들과 비교함으로써 제스처를 인식한다. 이 논문에서는 차영상과 Template Matching 반을 이용하지 않고 미리 관심영역을 획득한 후 그 영역 안에서 Template Matching 을 수행한다. 그래서, 실행속도 및 반응속도를 줄이는 데 중점을 두고 있으며 더욱 효과적으로 제스처를 인식하는 방법에 대해 제안한다.

학령기 여아의 손 치수 및 구조요인 분석 (The Size and Structural factors of The Korean Elementary School Girls' Hands)

  • In the current study, we measured the hands and other representative body items of 223 elementary school girls using Martin Anthropometer and a digital camera so that we would be able to provide information on both size and shape of hands for design of hand-related products. As time goes on, hands get bigger, yet they get thinner at the same time. The data implies that the frame of hands grows, but the skin fat lessens, which could be a determinant factor in the size system of hand-related products. According to the results of a factor analysis on 26 hand items, 5 factors including hand laterality and linearity, fingertip shape, finger breadth, and hand depth, have been extracted. Pearson's correlation showed that most of hand-related factors were strongly associated with other body items. Finger breadth and hand depth, however, were found less related to other body items. The ANOVA test used in testing the difference of hand factors showed, in most items, a difference by ages, but there was no significant differences in fingertip breadth, the third factor, Interestingly, in hand depth, the fifth factor, lower grade girls' hands were thicker than higher grade girls'. This research suggests that the size system of uniformly increasing the size of all hand parts by age groups should be reconsidered and leaves much for improvement.

리도카인 패치 적용이 당뇨노인환자의 혈당검사 시 통증과 두려움에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Lidocaine Patch Application to Decrease Pain and Fear during Blood Sugar Test in Elderly Patients with DM)

  • Purpose: This study was done to examine the effects of lidocaine patch application to decrease pain and fear during blood sugar testing in elderly patients with DM. Methods: The participants were 56 elderly patients admitted to J geriatric hospital in G city, Korea. Of the elderly patient, 27 were assigned to the experimental group and 29 to the control group. Participants in the experimental group applied a lidocaine patch on the fingertip for 30 minutes before a blood sugar test. The control group applied a plaster on the fingertip. Pain was evaluated using a visual analogue scale and fear using the Procedure Behaviour Check List. The results were compared using paired t-test and t-test. Results: The scores for pain and fear were significantly lower in the experimental group compared to the control group. Conclusion: The lidocaine patch was found to be an effective local anesthetic to relieve pain and fear during blood sugar test in elderly patients with DM without any severe adverse events.

  • 본 논문에서는 스마트 플랫폼에서 다양한 UX(User eXprience)를 위한 적외선(IR, Infra red) 카메라를 이용해 손가락의 움직임을 파악하고 추적하여 언제 어디서든 쉽게 사용하고 휴대하기 편한 웨어러블 키보드의 설계방안을 제안한다. 이를 위해 2대의 적외선 카메라로 인식된 영상을 바탕으로 Fingertip Tracking 알고리즘과 k-cuvature 알고리즘 적용하기 위해 OpenCV와 MFC로 가상의 웨어러블 키보드를 설계하였다.

복합조직이식을 이용한 갈고리 손톱 변형 교정의 임상례 (Correction of Hook Nail Deformity with Composite Graft)

  • Purpose: Hook nail deformity is caused by inadequately supported nail bed due to loss of distal phalanx or lack of soft tissue, resulting in a claw-like nail form. A composite graft from the foot bencath the nail bed gives adequate restoration of tip pulp. Methods: From September of 1999 to March of 2004, six patients were treated for hook nail deformity and monitored for long term follow up. Donor sites were the lateral side of the big toe or instep area of the foot. We examined cosmetic appearance and nail hooking and sensory test. The curved nail was measured by the picture of before and after surgery. Results: In all cases, composite grafts were well taken, and hook nail deformities were corrected. The curved nail of the 4 patients after surgery were improved to average $28.7^{\circ}$ from average $55.2^{\circ}$ before surgery. The static two point discrimination average was 6.5mm and the moving two point discrimination average was 5.8mm in the sensory test. Conclusion: Composite graft taken from foot supports the nail bed with the tissue closely resembling the fingertip tissue, making it possible for anatomical and histological rebuilding of fingertip.

맛사지가 슬 근 신장성에 미치는 영향 (A Study of the Effects of Massage on Hamstring Muscles Extensibility)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the specificity of the effort of massage on hamstring muscles extensibility a9 measured by fingertip to floor test. The participant were healthy young men(n=25). Manual massage was applied to the posterior aspects of the both thigh (hamsting portion) during 20 mins. We measured four times ; that is, after rest 20 mins-before massage, immediately after massage, immediately after massage and 20 mins. after massage. As the middle fingers are reaching beyond the floor level, the level was considered as ( + ) level. And the middle fingers did not touch the 리oor, the level was considered as ( - ) level. Results were as fellows : 1) There was significant difference between group 1 and group 2(P<0.05), 2) There was no significant difference between group 2 and group 3(P>0.05). 3) There was no significant difference between group 3 and group 4(P>0.05). Therefore, the extensibility of hamstring muscles was increased after massage more than rest during 20 mins, before massage, and the effects of massage application were prolonged during 20 mins, after massage.

손가락/관절 간의 기구학적 독립을 고려한 로봇 손의 컴플라이언스 제어 방법 (A Compliance Control Method for Robot Hands with Consideration of Decoupling among Fingers/Joints)

  • In this paper for an object grasped by a robot hand to work in stiffness control domain we first investigate the number of fingers for successful stiffness modulation in the object operational space. Next we propose a new compliance control method for robot hands which consist of two steps. RIFDS(Resolved Inter-Finger Decoupling Solver) is to decompose the desired compliance characteristic specified in the op-erational space into the compliance characteristic in the fingertip space without inter-finger coupling and RIJDS(Resolved Inter-Joint Decoupling Solver) is to decompose the fingertip space without inter-finger coupling and RIJDS(Resolved inter-Joint Decoupling Solver) is to decompose the compliance characteristic in the finger-tip space into the compliance characteristic given in the joint space without inter-joint coupling. Based on the analysis results the finger structure should be biominetic in the sense that either kniematic redundancy or force redundancy are required to implement the proposed compliance control scheme, Five-bar fingered robot hands are used as an illustrative example to implement the proposed compliance control method. To show the effectiveness of the proposed compliance control method simulations are performed for two-fingered and three-fingered robot hands.
