Increasing life expectancy leads to a rise in the prevalence of aging-related mental diseases and a concomitant increase in the financial and societal pressures related to their prevention and management. This issue is attracting increasing attention from researchers. Therefore, this study aimed to determine whether a healing program in a forest environment is effective for improving cognitive function, depression, anxiety, and stress in elderly people. A nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. The experimental group consisted of 18 males and females aged 60 to 80 years who participated in a forest healing program for seven days, while the comparison group comprised 10 people with similar demographics. For the process of data analysis, this study performed a cross-analysis to determine the homogeneity of the data and carried out the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, a nonparametric statistical test, to verify the significance of each group. Participation in the forest healing program led to a significant improve-ment in cognitive function (p=0.030). The levels of depression decreased, but this result was not statistically significant. The levels of anxiety decreased significantly (p=0.004). The mean cortisol score, a measurement of stress, decreased, but it was not statistically significant. These findings confirmed the effectiveness of this program for improving certain mental conditions of elderly people, and affirmed that the use of long-term forest healing programs can be expected to alleviate national pressures created by aging societies.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the financial portfolios of single-person households. For the analysis, The purpose of this study is to verify the mediation effect of stress-coping strategies in the relationship between ego-resiliency and burn-out among childcare center teachers. The subjects were 255 childcare center teachers in Gyeongbuk Province. The measurement tools used for this study include ego-resiliency, burn-out, and stresscoping strategy questionnaires. The collected data points were analyzed via Structural Equation Modeling(SEM), Bootstrapping, Pearson Correlation, using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 20.0 The results of the study analyzing the Structural Equation Model are as follows. First, teachers' ego-resiliency had a negative influence on burn-out. Second, teachers' problem-focused coping strategies had a negative influence on burn-out, while emotionfocused coping strategies had a positive influence on burn-out. Third, teachers' ego-resiliency had a positive influence on both problem-focused and emotion-focused coping strategies. Fourth, teachers' ego-resiliency had an indirect effect on burn-out by improving both problem-focused and emotion-focused coping strategies. This study suggests that education on the use of problem-focused coping strategies in stressful situations is necessary to successfully manage childcare teachers' burn-out in childcare settings in which mandatory evaluation systems are newly implemented.

The purpose of this study was to investigate factors affecting employment stress among Emergency Department students and reduce stress of employment. A questionnaire survey was administered to 276 students who experienced clinical practice among 4 emergency college students in Jeollabuk-do and Jeollanam-do at 4-year and 3-year colleges from September 10 to 15, 2017. Statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS 18.0 program and analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. In the results, there were significantly negative correlations between clinical training stress and major satisfaction (r=-0.192, p=0.001), significantly positive correlations between career stress and clinical training stress (r=0.222, p<0.001), and significantly negative correlations between career stress and major satisfaction (r=-0.245, p<0.001). In the multi-regression analysis, the following was discovered: higher clinical training stress (${\beta}=0.157$, p=0.005), lower major satisfaction (${\beta}=-0.211$, p<0.001), and higher career stress. Junior students (${\beta}=0.237$, p<0.001) and senior students (${\beta}=0.288$, p<0.001) had the highest career stress. Subjects with medium-level financial status had high career stress (${\beta}=0.173$, p=0.012). Therefore, this study suggests that colleges should reduce clinical training stress among emergency medical technology students, and more job support centers should be opened and job management programs developed.
This study examined the influence of university students' stress in their daily lives on game addiction, and investigated whether the human relation skills has a moderating effect on their daily life stress. For this study, surveys of 222 university students were collected and analyzed with SPSS 18.0 program. The results of this study are as follows: First, the participants displayed lower human relation skills as the level of stress from the studies increased. In contrast, the participants displayed higher human relation skills as the level of stress from future plans and family relations increased. Second, as the level of game addiction increased, human relation skills were found to be lower. Third, the university students' stress from daily lives had a static effect on game addiction. The participants displayed tendency of game addiction as they had high levels of stress from their studies, financial issues, future plans, values, family relations, and human relations with people apart from their family. Among the listed factors of stress, the stress from the studies most strongly influenced the participants to be addicted to games. Fourth, among the sub-factors of stress in the university students, issues in future plans and family relations significantly control the game addiction. Studies on this area has been insufficient. From the study, it is found that in order to prevent university students to be addicted to games, they must cope well with their stress. Furthermore, this study carries its significance in finding the results that human relation skills contribute as a part of dealing with stress.
Before and after the Capital Market Integration Act in 2007 is implemented in South Korea, many of small-and mid sized exporting companies in South Korea has been bankrupted or filed for lawsuit claiming mis-selling(KIKO) by the banks. The basic economic structure of KIKO in Korea are part of a business model based on the use or misuse of exotic derivatives whose results are anything but imaginary. 571 mid sized exporting companies have been damaged about $28 billion. KIKO is a currency option product that sells foreign currencies at higher foreign exchange rate when the rate moves within a certain range, but sells foreign currencies at two or three times lower rate than the market price when the rate exceeds the designated upper limit. KIKO, Therefore, is hard to know whether the non financial firms intended to hedge against further strengthening of their currency or merely to speculate. It is also hard to know how thoroughly they understood the risk-return profile of these transactions. It is similarly hard to ascertain whether the derivatives dealers offering these transactions were meeting the demands of their clients or taking advantage of them. These exotic derivatives were inappropriate for either hedging or speculating, and no knowledgeable investor would be likely to enter into these contracts intentionally.
Background: This pilot study looked into the physical, social, psychological and economic issues of Indian adult cancer survivors. Materials and Methods: Assumed cancer free patients, after cancer directed therapy (CDT), were assessed on the basis of a questionnaire developed by the investigators. The mental status of the survivors was elicited by modified MINI international neuro-psychiatric interview. This cross sectional assessment was conducted as a direct interaction with each patient for 30 to 45 minutes at a cancer hospital in 2012. Results: Thirty one adult cancer survivors participated in this study. Median age was 53 years with a median follow up duration of 21.8 months (Range 2.3-194.1 months). The majority (68%) did not receive financial support for treatment. Median interval after CDT to start of activity of daily living was 1.5 months (range: 0-24 months). Fatigue and loss of appetite were reported by 52% and 29% respectively. The cancer diagnosis and its treatment adversely impacted the financial condition in 42% of patients. Nineteen percent each showed social anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder and another 13% patients reported depression. Conclusions: This prospective assessment highlights survivorship issues and the need to address those issues particularly in the context of developing countries where resources and manpower are limited.
Korean household debt is one of the main sources of the current financial crisis. This paper studies the impact of household members' attributes such as a type of housing(self-own or rent), education, age, average monthly income of the head of household, and the area of residence, on the stress level of the household members due to household debt. We analyze a real data set collected by KB Kookmin Bank in 2004. We consider low and high stress level as a binary response variable and use a logistic regression model with the attributes of household members as explanatory variables. A simple but well-fitting model is selected by backward elimination method based on the likelihood statistic for goodness-of-fit test, and the impact of the attributes on the stress level is studied from parameter estimates of the selected model. We also perform the similar analysis on a binary response variable which distinguishes households with no debt from the rest. From the analysis, the stress level tends to be low for households with self-own houses, high average monthly income, low education level, and young members.
The purpose of this study was to describe the relationship between family stress and adaptation in families with a disabled child through literature review using McCubbin's Double ABCX family crisis framework. The literature review focused on (1) family stress and factors affecting family stress, (2) the critical individual, familial and social resources which families acquire and employ over time in managing crisis situation. (3) the changes in definition and meaning families develop in an effort to make sense out of their predicament. (4) the coping strategies families employ. and (5) the range of outcomes of these family efforts The results showed that families reported financial difficulties and the burden of care-giving demands as major family stressors. Siblings of disabled children manifested depressive symptoms and social isolation. but was not consistent study results. The parents' views of the cause of the disabling condition fundamentally affected their behavior toward their disabled child. Especially. the fathers' views of the child's characteristics made the greatest contribution to positive changes in the mothers' perceptions. The term perceived social support refers to the cognitive appraisal by individuals that they are cared for and valued, that significant others are available to them if needed, and that they are satisfied with their interpersonal relationships. The perceived social support was more protective than social support source. network size and network density. Parental adaptation was found to be related to the child's communication competence rather than family coping strategies proposed by Lazarus and Folkman. One study results showed that there was no difference in depressive symptoms and physical health between mothers with a disabled child and those without all though mothers with a disabled child had negative attitudes and perceived themselves as having significantly less social support and lower family functioning. But a longitudinal study revealed decreases in the negative impact of the child and increases in sibling and overall family adaptation.

The purpose of this study is to propose measures for social work practice to enhance the happiness of middle-aged married men and women by identifying the effects of family stress and social support resources (formal and informal support resources) on marital satisfaction among mid-life married couples. Subjects were selected through purposive sampling among married men and women aged between 40 and 59 and living in Seoul City and Gyeonggi province. The study results are follows. First, the average score of family stress was 3.06 points (SD=.56), slightly higher than the median value of 3 points. Of all subscales of family stress, the subjects experienced the most stress from family relationships, followed by financial problems, health and loss of families, and work-family compatibility. In regard to social support resources, the mean value of all social support resources categories was greater than the median. Among the subscales, informal support (family support and support from other people) was found to be higher than formal support. The level of marital satisfaction was higher than the median, and the score was 3.21 points (SD=.78). Second, in order to explore differences in marital satisfaction according to family stress and social support, differences in marital satisfaction were analyzed by grouping subjects who scored high, middle, and low levels of marital satisfaction. According to the results, marital satisfaction was statistically significantly higher in the group that experienced less family stress (F=6.25, p<.01). With respect to social support, marital satisfaction was statistically significantly higher in the group that received high social support (F=29.68, p<.001). Third, according to the analysis of factors affecting marital satisfaction in middle-aged married men and women, subjective economic status, family relationship stress, economic stress, and family support showed statistical significance. The higher the subjective economic status and the lower the family relationship stress and economic stress levels, the higher the marital satisfaction among middle-aged married men and women. In addition, the greater the family support, the higher the marital satisfaction. The results of this study underscore the need to improve family relationships in middle-aged married couples and to distribute family life education programs that can strengthen family support resources. For example, family relationship enhancement programs are currently performed, including "Family School for Middle-Aged Baby Boomers" and others as part of the Healthy Family Support Work regarding the promotion of marital satisfaction of middle-aged couples. In addition, continuing effort is warranted to include content on strengthening family support resources, maximizing the effectiveness of programs, and promoting service accessibility.
