Sticky Cost Behavior Analysis of General Hospitals in Korea (우리나라 종합병원의 하방 경직적 원가행태 분석)

  • The purpose of this empirical study is to investigate whether costs are 'sticky' -that is, whether costs increase more when revenues rises than they decrease when revenues falls by an equivalent amount by using the financial data fromf korean general hospital Financial data used in this study were obtained from the Database of Korean Health Industry Development Institute and analyzed using multiple regression model in dummy variables. The main results of this study are as follows: First, we found, for 69 Korean general hospitals for 3 years(2000~2002), that total hospital costs, hospital labor costs, hospital administrative costs were sticky, these costs provided strong support for the sticky costs hypothesis 1, but hospital material costs were shown to be proportional to sales revenues. Second, this results provided strong support for the hypotheses that the' degree of stickiness was lower in sales revenues declining that were preceded by revenue-declining periods (hypothesis 2-1), and that stickiness was less pronounced in a second successive year of revenue decline(hypothesis 2-2). Third, this results provided strong support for the hypothesis(hypothesis 3) that stickiness was greater hospitals that employ relatively more people to support their sales revenues(hypothesis 4) that stickiness was greater for hospital that used relatively more assets to support their sales revenues. After all, a managerial implication of this study was that sticky cost, for the general hospital, could be recognized and controlled.

MTS Service Environmental Quality's Effects on the Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Use Intention in the Agile Business Environment (애자일 경영 환경에서의 모바일증권거래시스템 서비스 환경 품질이 고객만족과 지속적 사용의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Recently the business environment surrounding the financial investment industry is changing rapidly, and the demands of customers (diversity and the cycle of change etc.) are getting shorter. In this context, it can be said that companies are forced to adopt an agile management environment. In particular, non-face-to-face channels, including MTS, is adopting the agile system into the digital finance sector from a company-wide and strategic perspective. This study analyzed the effects of MTS services' environment quality on customer satisfaction and continuous intention to use for MTS users who are rapidly increasing under the agile management environment in the financial investment industry. This study surveyed the quality of service environment (accessibility, convenience, design, security), customer satisfaction, and continuous intention to use for 350 MTS users. First, accessibility, convenience, and security of MTS service environment quality had a positive effect on customer satisfaction, and design was rejected Second, customer satisfaction has a positive effect on continuous intention to use. Third, convenience and security of MTS service environment quality have positive effects on continuous intention to use, and accessibility and design were rejected. The results of this study, together with demographic analysis, are expected to provide useful implications for MTS activation studies and securities firms' strategies.

A Study on the Application of Private Security in Assembly and Demonstration Sites Using SNS Emotional Language Analysis

  • The purpose of this study is to review the appropriateness of deploying private security guards using SMS emotional language analysis at the current assembly and demonstration sites, which rely only on the police force, and to suggest a plan. Therefore, it is intended to contribute to suppressing the problems at the assembly and demonstration sites and present a new paradigm for responding to the assembly and demonstration sites based on the study's results. First, it is necessary to prepare a legal basis for the deployment of private security guards in the 'Security Services Industry Act' and 'Assembly and a Demonstration Act'. Second, there is a need for a 'security company selection criteria' for selecting security companies with a lot of experience, such as collective civil petition sites and security for national critical facilities (special security services). Third, it is necessary to prepare financial resources for the deployment of private security guards. This study is expected to serve as a new cornerstone for effective management of assembly and demonstration sites through mutual complementation of the police and private security.

Exploring the Strategy for Acquiring ISMS Certification through Probit Regression: Focusing on Organizational Characteristics (Probit 회귀분석을 통한 ISMS 인증 취득 전략 탐색: 조직 특성을 중심으로)

  • In the field of information security management systems, one of the representative certifications in Korea is ISMS-P certification, and internationally, ISO/IEC 27001 certification is recognized. When companies acquire both ISMS-P (or ISMS) and ISO/IEC 27001 certifications, budget and manpower are duplicated in similar areas. Therefore, it is necessary for the company to choose and invest in a certification that is suitable for its conditions. This paper proposes a strategy for obtaining information security management system certification that is suitable for the characteristics of the company, allowing for effective information security management based on the company's conditions. To achieve this, data were collected from the Ministry of Science and ICT's Information Security Disclosure System (ISDS), the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), and the Financial Supervisory Service's Data Analysis, Retrieval and Transfer System (DART), and Probit regression analysis was conducted. During the Probit regression analysis, the relationships between seven independent variables and five cases of ISMS-P (or ISMS) acquisition, ISMS-P acquisition, ISMS acquisition, ISO/IEC 27001 acquisition, and both ISMS-P (or ISMS) and ISO/IEC 27001 acquisition were analyzed. The analysis results revealed the relationship between company characteristics, including industry, and certification acquisition in the ISMS field. Through this, strategies for certification acquisition based on company types could be suggested.

The Influence of Open Banking Characteristics on Intention to Use Open Banking (오픈 뱅킹의 특성이 오픈 뱅킹의 사용의도에 미치는 영향 )

  • With the full implementation of open banking in which both banks and fintech companies participate, changes in the whole society such as new types of products, services, and businesses are taking place. Whenever new systems and environments change, research on technology acceptance by system users has been continued, and this study also verified how the characteristics of open banking affect the perceived ease of use and usefulness of the Technology Acceptance Model, and the intention to use open banking. As a result of the study, it was found that both information provision, service interactivity, and system stability had a significant effect on perceived ease of use, usefulness, and intention to use open banking. In the future, open banking may bring significant benefits to data sharing, financial access, banking infrastructure, product innovation and pricing, but it is also expected to bring unexpected damage. Therefore, domestic financial institutions should actively cope with the situation where the business environment is greatly changing due to the digital environment change, and at the same time actively foster fintech companies and promote innovation in the financial industry.

Promotional Plans of Fourth-Party Logistics in Korea: Applicability in Entering the Chinese Logistics Market

  • Purpose - This study aims to disclose the problems of both the government and the logistics industry regarding fourth-party logistics, and to provide various solutions at the level of enterprises as well as the government for the introduction of fourth-party logistics in China. Research design, data, and methodology - This study aims to reveal how a shipping company recognizes the creation of partnerships with fourth-party logistics providers, and it reveals several related implications. Results - Fourth-party logistics organizations can be used to achieve maximum business performance as professional logistics companies by incorporating the benefits of outsourcing and insourcing. Outsourcing logistics services through focusing on core competencies and improving customer service can have financial effects and advantages such as the simplification of labor issues. Conclusions - This study did not investigate Korean enterprises through an empirical analysis and provided fourth-party logistics concepts and promotional plans according to domestic and foreign literature. Further studies shall investigate not only the Korean fourth-party logistics model but also the training of logistics professionals to generate profits for both shippers as well as logistics enterprises.

A Study on the Direction of Publicity and Technology Development of Public Service Media - Focusing on the cases of global public broadcasting (디지털 공영미디어의 공영성과 기술 발전 방향성 연구 - 해외 공영방송 사례를 중심으로)

  • Due to the convergence of broadcasting and telecommunication and the evolution into the media industry, viewers are adapting to the reception of content through various platforms and personal media. Accordingly, public broadcasting is seeking to change into public media that redefines public responsibility and establishes a role for a sustainable society. In particular, proving its value in the form of differentiated public services in an environment where public content is also provided by commercial services is necessary for members of society to prove the legitimacy of financial resources and services. In this paper, as the digital broadcasting era in the 2010s and the media industry was reorganized in 2020, changes in public services corresponding to the public responsibilities required of public broadcasters were analyzed through global public broadcasting cases. In particular, since the technical preparation of broadcasters and viewers is essential in the media environment, the technical direction of public services was mainly analyzed. The derived direction is a common direction applicable to all public broadcasters, including Korea. It is expected that the public responsibility and direction of technological development suggested in this paper will clarify the role of public media and help become differentiated services that contribute to life.

Survival analysis on the business types of small business using Cox's proportional hazard regression model (콕스 비례위험 모형을 이용한 중소기업의 업종별 생존율 및 생존요인 분석)

  • Global crisis expedites the change in the environment of industry and puts small size enterprises in danger of mass bankruptcy. Because of this, domestic small size enterprises is an urgent need of restructuring. Based on the small business data registered in the Credit Guarantee Fund, we estimated the survival probability in the context of the survival analysis. We also analyzed the survival time which are distinguished depending on the types of business in the small business. Financial variables were also conducted using COX regression analysis of small businesses by types of business. In terms of types of business wholesale and retail trade industry and services were relatively high in the survival probability than light, heavy, and the construction industries. Especially the construction industry showed the lowest survival probability. In addition, we found that construction industry, the bigger BIS (bank of international settlements capital ratio) and current ratio are, the smaller default-rate is. But the bigger borrowing bond is, the bigger default-rate is. In the light industry, the bigger BIS and ROA (return on assets) are, the smaller a default-rate is. In the wholesale and retail trade industry, the bigger bis and current ratio are, the smaller a default-rate is. In the heavy industry, the bigger BIS, ROA, current ratio are, the smaller default-rate is. Finally, in the services industry, the bigger current ratio is, the smaller a default-rate is.

Technical, Individual and Situational Factors Affecting Intention to Use of Mobile Easy Payment Service : Focusing on the Moderating Effects of Subjective Norms (기술, 개인, 상황 특성이 모바일 간편 결제서비스 이용의도에 미치는 영향 : 주관적 규범의 조절효과)

  • With the development of information and communication technologies, popularization of smart phones, and relaxation of the government regulation, mobile easy payment service is rapidly growing as a major financial service. Therefore, this study examines factors that influence the intention to use mobile easy payment service through empirical analysis. We collected 386 responses by survey and formed structural equation modeling with AMOS 22.0. The results show that technical factors(relative advantage, security), individual factor(self-efficacy), situational factors(trust in prior services and satisfaction of prior services) had a positive effect on the perceived value. In addition, perceived value had a positive effect on the intention to use mobile easy payment services. Lastly, subjective norms are closely related to the relationship between perceived value and intention to use mobile easy payment services. The results can be expected to provide useful references to the Fintech related industry fields.

  • IPTV has risen as a new driving force amid concerns against the saturated internet market and gained enormous attention of both the government and industry as niche market. Especially, IPTV banking which is one of the major services, IPTV has risen up recently as another financial service channel. Prior to the expansion of the new technology, this study attempts to predict its success possibility. In order to grasp variables that would effect formation of user intention of potential adopters, and external variables that influence user intention of IPTV banking have been confirmed and studied empirically based on Technology Acceptance Model(TAM). As a result, it was validated that self?efficacy, facilitating condition, social influence, and perceived importance to TV banking needs are the influential variables. Therefore, one may able to find appropriate direction of marketing activities for effective expansion of IPTV banking service through this study. Also, considering the fact that the number of service users has absolute influence over profit determination in the IPTV banking service industry, the study about characteristics and intention of such potential adopters could certainly be significant.
