Nonlinear Filter for Orbit Determination (궤도결정을 위한 비선형 필터)

  • Orbit determination problems have been interest of many researchers for long time. Due to the high nonlinearity of the equation of motion and the measurement model, it is necessary to linearize the both equations. To avoid linearization, the filter based on Fokker-Planck equation is designed. with the extended Kalman filter update mechanism, in which the associated Fokker-Planck equation was solved efficiently and accurately via discrete quadrature and the measurement update was done through the extended Kalman filter update mechanism. This filter based on the DQMOM and the EKF update is applied to the orbit determination problem with appropriate modification to mitigate the filter smugness. Unlike the extended Kalman filter, the hybrid filter based on the DQMOM and the EKF update does not require the burdensome evaluation of the Jacobian matrix and Gaussian assumption for the system, and can still provide more accurate estimations of the state than those of the extended Kalman filter especially when measurements are sparse. Simulation results indicate that the advantages of the hybrid filter based on the DQMOM and the EKF update make it a promising alternative to the extended Kalman filter for orbit estimation problems.

  • In this study, a Software Defined Radio(SDR) technology-based digital filtering technique applicable to a multiple channel processing system such as a wireless mobile communication system using Code Division Multiple Access(CDMA) technology is proposed. The technique includes a micro-processor to redesign Finite Impulse Response(FIR) filter coefficients according to specific system information and to download the filter coefficients to one digital Band Pass Filter(BPF) to reconfigure another system. The feasibility of the algorithm is verified by implementing a multiple channel signal generator that is reconfigurable to other system profiles, including those for a CDMA system and a WCDMA system on identical hardware platform.

Removal Characteristics of Rainwater Including Non-point Pollutants Using Pre-filter of Wasted-tire and Non-woven Fabric (폐타이어와 부직포를 이용한 프리필터에 의한 비점오염원 포함 우수 처리 특성)

  • Pre-filter system that was consisted of wasted-tire, non-woven fabrics, and sponge was developed as a primary treatment process prior to rainwater reservation or a pre-treatment process of rainwater reuse system for reclamation. By using this system, SS concentration, TOC, COD, and turbidity could decreased by 86.7%, 62.6%, 69.1% and 66.5%, respectively. From the results of particle size distribution of treated water, the particles over than $30{\mu}m$ of diameter were completely removed by pre-filter system. But 90% of particles less than $20{\mu}m$ of diameter were passed through pre-filter. Optimal depth of wasted-tire and non-woven fabrics were 15cm and 2.4cm, respectively. Pre-filter system was considered as an effective alternative for pre-treatment of rainwater including non-point pollutants and it could be also applied for the treatment of combined sewer overflow (CSO).

  • The reactive and harmonic current components of dc loads can be compensated by the three-phase hybrid power filter (HPF) system. After compensation, the resulting current has sinusoidal and in-phase components with the source voltage. The HPF system is constructed by an active filter and passive filters. The passive filter reduce the 5th and 7th harmonic of the load current. The active filter compensates the remainder of the load current.   • Objective is to design a high performance purification filter system of reactor coolant and seal injection system at nuclear power station. The purification filter systems play an important role in the stability of the nuclear and volume control system which consist the primary network systems of the nuclear power station. But the users of the purification filter systems frequently suffer from high maintenance cost which comes from lack of understanding of the system technology and domestic suppliers. It is time to establish a high performance domestic filter system manufacturing technology and optimum design for wide use in industrial applications.

  • Cricket is an excellent indoor location system and it can successfully solve many critical problems such as user privacy, decentralized administration. But in some practical applications, Cricket sometimes didn't provide location with enough accuracy, and was unable to determine when it was giving inaccurate information. For getting high-accuracy tracking performance from location data contaminated with noise, some types of filters are required. Kalman Filter is an efficient recursive filter that estimates the state of a dynamic system from a series of incomplete and noisy measurement. The filter is very powerful in the field of autonomous and assisted navigation. In this paper, we carry out comparative studies to validate the performance of the application of Kalman Filter to Cricket based localization system.

  • Current Source(CS) PWM converter is appropriate for the magnet power supply system which requests high power and high precision current control. Input and output filters should be installed to eliminate the current or voltage harmonics caused by the PWM switching for the CS PWM converter. But the input/output filters limit the output DC current range and may destroy the system with filter resonance, and make the system equation more complicated. In this paper, systematic and simple filter design method which considers not only the harmonic attenuation but also the total system good transfer function characteristics in the dc filter. Adaptive Kalman Filter Design for an Alignment System with Unknown Sway Disturbance

  • The initial alignment of inertial platform for navigation system was considered. An adaptive filtering technique is developed for the system with unknown and varying sway disturbance. It is assumed that the random sway motion is the second order ARMA(Auto Regressive Moving Average) model and performed parameter identification for unknown parameters. Designed adaptive filter contain both a Kalman filter and a self-tuning filter. This filtering system can automatically adapt to varying environmental conditions. To verify the robustness of the filtering system, the computer simulation was performed with unknown and varying sway disturbance.

  • This paper proposes transformerless power conversion system consisting of a single-phase diode rectifier and a shunt hybrid filter for the electric-railway system. The hybrid filter consists of a single tuned LC filter per a phase and a low-rated NPC type multi-level inverter. Compared with conventional active filters. Transformers are not used. Also, LC filter works as not only a harmonic filter tuned at the 5th harmonic frequency but also a switching-ripple filter. The rating of the active filter can be decreased by using a NPC type multi-level inverter. The simulation results confirm the validity of the system.
