AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON PENETRATION OF DYE IN FILLING MATERIALS (수종(數種) 수복물(修復物)의 색소침투(色素浸透)에 관(關)한 실험적(實驗的) 연구(硏究))

  • The purpose of this study was to measure penetration of dye stuff(5% Methylene blue, Hematoxylin, Crystal violet and Safranin-O) on silicate cement, Adaptic, Hi-pol and unfilled resin. Each filling material was mixed on the mixing pad and the mixed material was inserted with condensation force of 500gr, 1000gr and 2000gr and without condensation force into preformed glass tube (10mm in diameter and 10mm in height). The specimen was stored in the air for 24 hours, then specimen was immersed in various dye solution (5% methylene blue, hematoxin, crystal violet and safranin-O) for different period of time (l hour and 24 hours). These dye-treated specimen was cut horizontally at the middle portion and the dye penetration in cut surface was measured. Following results were obtained. 1. Pentration of various dye was excessive in silicate cement with and without Condensation force. 2. There has been no evidence of dye penetration in unfilled resin. 3. Dye penetration occurced with in 1 hour period and the extending time didn't affect the dye penetration.

  • The die casting process was used to manufacture a alternator housing for automobile. Specially automobile parts were required light and hight strength. Therefore simulation have been carried out die casting process of the alternator housing. In this paper, we investigated about characteristics of the die casted alternator housing the HPDC(High Pressure Die Casting) process. Also we designed the die casting die with the simulation results of the alternator housing. The MAGMAsoft and Auto-CAD was used as computer simulation and design code and used material was ADC12(Aluminum Die Casting Alloy). We present the results of filling behavior and design of die process of the alternator housing cast. The result obtained about filling behavior and design of die of the cast showed good agreement with test result.

  • The die easting process was used to manufacture a motor housing for automobile. Specially automobile parts were required light and high strength. Therefore simulations have been carried out die casting process of motor housing. In this paper, we investigated about characteristics of the die casted motor housing with HPDC(High Pressure Die Casting) process. We present the results of filling behavior and solidification process of a motor housing cast.   • A composite plastic, where long metallic fibers are used as filling materials, is transformed from nonconducting to conducting medium as the volume fraction of filling metallic fibers is increased from zero : such drastic change in property is called the percolation. It is desired both for practical and theoretical purposes to understand the physics underlying the percolation and to estimate the percolation threshold that is defined by the minimum volume fraction of the metallic fibers for which the percolation occurs. In this study, percolation thresholds are calculated by Monte Carlo Computer simulation. Both lattice and continuum spaces are considered and detailed microstructures of metallic fibers are modelled as rigid and flexible bodies for both model spaces. Simulations are carried out for wide range of aspect ratios and discussions are given.

A Study of Failure Mechanism for Inclined Impact of PELE (PELE의 경사진 충격에 따른 파괴 메커니즘에 대한 연구)

  • Penetrator with enhanced lateral effect(PELE) is a newconcept projectile, without dynamite and fuze. It consists of high-density jacket, closed at its rear end and filled with a low-density filling material. To study the explosion characteristics of PELE, by AUTODYN-3D code, the calculation models of projectile body and bullet target are established and the process of penetrating aluminum-2024 alloy target of PELE is simulated, and the scattering characteristics after penetrating aluminum-2024 alloy target of PELE are studied by different initial velocity. The explicit finite element analysis of PELE fragmentation was implemented with stochastic failure criterion in AUTODYN-3D code. As expansion of filling, the fragments were obtained velocities and dispersed laterally and further more enhancing the damage area largely. The number and shape of the PELE fragments were different depend on impact velocity and incidence angle of filling which fragment generated during penetration and lateral dispersion process.

  • The standard deviation is constant in the progress of Powder Injection Filling, The setting value of the filling amount can modify the numerical rate. Since high level of the numerical rate can get the effect of reducing the material cost, it improves the productivity by permitting the possibility of the economical production. Consequently, this thesis analyzed and suggests the numerical model which consider the economical factors of the Powder Injection Shaping progress, and I try to reinforce the competitive powder of the domestic medicine manufacture industry which face the wave of globalism and evolutionism.

  • In recent years, micro powder injection molding $(\mu-PIM)$ is being explored as an economical fabrication method for microcomponents in microsystems technology (MST). Technical and economic comparison was performed for $\mu-PIM$ processes. Molding experiment and simulation during the filling process were performed to evaluate several different geometries and processing conditions. The influence of material parameters and process conditions on mold filling were examined as a function of features size using microchannels as an example. It was found that the heat conductivity and viscosity of feedstock, geometry and mold temperature were the most critical parameters for complete filling of micro features.

Experimental Study on Pressures Changes on Infilling Soil and Geotextile Drain in Circular Acrylic Tube Structure (토사 주입과 배수 시 원형 아크릴 튜브 구조체의 압력 변화에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • A series of injection and drainage test were conducted on an circular acrylic tube to investigate the pressure generated by the accumulated fill materials inside a circular acrylic tube structure. The acrylic tube was filled by means of gravity filling with a slurry material having an average water content of 700%. The water head during the filling process was 1.8m and the bottom pressure during initial filling was 20.18kPa. The recorded stress at the sides of the acrylic tube was 17.89kPa during the filling process and was reduced to 13.58kPa during the leaving process. Continuous drainage of the acrylic tube has greatly influenced the stresses around the tube structure. As the water is gradually allowed to overflow, the generated pressure at the topmost pressure sensor of the tube was reduced further to 2.17kPa. Eventually, the initially liquid state slurry material transforms into plastic state after water has dissipated and substantial soil particles are deposited in the acrylic tube. The final water content of the deposited silt inside the acrylic tube after the test was 42%. It was found that the state of stresses(geo-static earth pressures) in the acrylic tube was anisotropic rather than isotropic.

Economic Analysis of Box Mechanical Behavior Materials Using LCC Analysis (LCC를 고려한 BOX구조물 뒷채움 재료의 경제성 분석)

  • The lightweight bubble mixture soil is used for soft ground rear-filling material by applying reduced weight on structure. However, comparing with the general soil, it is not applied in domestic because of initial phase cost of construction. General soil, which has lower initial phase cost is usually used for rear-filling, but the use of overlay method of general soil is reduced as the number of layers increases. Especially box structure placed in soft ground or the overlay method when gap near pier rear-filling can be replaced with temporary alternative method, however, it can't be a solution to gap by generation of extra weight of thickness of overlaying. Therefore, execute LCC analysis of two alternative-the general and the lightweight bubble mixture soils, which are rear-filling material of box structure- and present economical analysis in order to make resonable decision from the economics. As a result, although the lightweight bubble mixture soil takes higher initial phase cost than the general soil, it has been analyzed to procure economical efficiency by having less cost of maintenance.

SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC EVALUATION OF SEALING EFFECTS OF SEVERAL ROOT-END FILLING MATERIALS (분광광도법을 사용한 수종 역충전재의 근단부 폐쇄효과에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the sealing effect of several root-end filling materials using spectrophotometric analysis. 180 single root teeth with one canal were instrumented and canal filled. Root resected and root end preparation was made. Teeth were randomly classified to S experimental group(MTA, EBA, IRM, TCP, ZOE) and 1 control group according to root-end filling material MTA group used PRO ROOT MT A, EBA group used Super EBA. TCP group used NEW APATITE LINER TYPE II main component of which is ${\alpha}-tricalcium$ phosphate (TCP). According to manufacture's instruction experimental material was mixed and retrfilled. After 2% methylene blue solution penetration absorbance for each test sample was measured with spectrophotometer (JASCO UV-530, Japan). The mean absorbance of control and experimental group was as follows; MTA: 0.092, IRM: 0.226, Super EBA: 0.255, ZOE: 0.374, Control: 0.425, TCP: 0.501 and the result analyzed by Turkey test at P=0.05 level. Conclusions of this study are as follows; 1. The absorbance increase in following sequence MTA, IRM, Super EBA, ZOE, Control. TCP. 2. MTA showed the least leakage but was not significant with IRM or Super EBA and was significant with control or TCP(p<0.05). 3. TCP had the most leakage and was not significant with control group.
