The growth mechanism of diamond thin films, deposited by Hot Filament CVD, was investigated through observation of changes in their surface morphology as a function of the substance temperature and deposition time. Amorphous carbon or DLC thin films were deposited at low substrate temperature. Diamond films consisting of square-shaped particles, whose surfaces are (100) planes, were deposited at an intermedate temperature. At high substrate temperatures, diamond films consisting of the particles showing both (100) and (111) plane were deposited. The (100) proferred orientation of the diamond films are believed to be due to a relatively high supersaturation during deposition, and the growth condition for the diamond films having (100) preferred orientation can be applied to the single crystal growth since no twins are generated on the (100) plane. The grain size of the diamond films did not change with increasing temperature and its increasing rate with increasing deposition time was the same irrespective of the substrate temperature. However, the nucleation density increased with substrate temperature and its increasing rate with deposition time was much higher for the films deposited at higher substrate temperature.

The effects of residual stress and surface defects on the mechanical properties of the high carbon steel filament used for the automotive tire have been experimentally investigated. The samples were fabricated with annealing temperature. The residual stress was measured by focused ion beam and strain mapping software which has advantages, such as data with high accuracy and fast data acquisition time. Mechanical properties, such as tensile strength and fatigue resistance, were gradually increased up to $200^{\circ}C$ and then slightly decreased. From the measurement of residual stress and level of surface defect, it was revealed that the critical factor was varied with different temperature region. That is, the fatigue resistance increased due to decreasing the residual stress and decreased due to increasing the size and distribution of surface defect.
SiC-polycrystalline fiber (Tyranno SA, Ube Industries, Ltd.) shows very high heat-resistance and excellent mechanical properties up to very high temperatures. However, further increase in the strength is required. Up to now, we have already clarified the relationship between the strength and the defect-size of the SiC-polycrystalline fiber. The defects are formed during the conversion process from the raw material (amorphous Si-Al-C-O fiber) into SiC-polycrystalline fiber. In this conversion process, a degradation of the Si-Al-C-O fiber and a subsequent sintering of the degraded fiber proceed as well, accompanied by a release of CO gas and compositional changes, to obtain the dense SiC-polycrystalline fiber. Since these changes proceed in each filament, the strict control should be needed to minimize residual defects on the surface and in the inside of each filament for achieving the higher strength. In this paper, the controlling factors of the fiber strength and the fine structure will appear.
Composite draw textured yarns(DTY) and air jet textured yarns(ATY) with hollow PET filament have been used for making high emotional fabrics including light weight sports wear garments. This study investigated effect of hollow composite yarns and fabric structural parameters to the comfort properties related to the moisture and thermal transport phenomena for the composite fabrics made of DTY and ATY with hollow PET filament. Wicking property of hollow composite fabric was superior at the high pore size fabric and was not influenced by fabric cover factor. Wicking property of the fabric with ATY was better than that of the fabric with DTY. On the other hand, drying rate of fine pore sized fabric was shorter than that of large pore sized fabric and drying rate of high multi yarn fabric with low cover factor and small pore size was superior than that of hollow composite fabric. The pore size of the fabric was dominant factor in the air permeability and thermal conductivity of hollow composite fabric. High pore sized fabric showed high air permeability and thermal conductivity of hollow composite fabric was nonlinearly inversely proportional to pore size of the fabric.

In recent years, the design of buildings is changing from formal to creative and freeform. Accordingly, the scale of construction technology is changing to architectural design and construction of irregular buildings. Using the FDM method, which is one of the 3D printing technologies, it is possible to manufacture various forms of irregular formwork inexpensively and quickly coMPared to the existing formwork, and it seems to be able to solve the manpower problem. Using a 3D printer, the PLA filament formwork is produced in the form of a cylinder and a rectangular cuboid, and the usability of the PLA filament formwork is confirmed by examining the compression strength test and the degree of deformation and reusability over 28 days of age. Different sizes of additional specimens are also conducted according to the size. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that the filament formwork itself has about 3~4MPa strength. As a result of reviewing data through existing linear studies and experiments, it is appropriate to use more than 60% infill, and it is advantageous in terms of strength. As a result of cutting and dismantling the filament formwork, the surface is very clean and there is no damage, so it can be reused.

Serious attempt for the improvement of quality parameters in silkworm hybrids came rather very late in India. Realising the need for productive breeds to the field and reorientation in breeding methodology, the silkworm breeders of CSRTI, Mysore were able to develop silkworm breeds with fine denier namely, JPN7, CSR48, B63 and B65 of specific industrial requirement through directional selection. As the success of silkworm breeds mainly depends on their combining ability, the developed breeds were subjected for hybrid evaluation. Out of 42 bivoltine hybrids studied, one hybrid, $CSR48{\times}CSR5$ was identified for its superiority over the existing bivoltine hybrids namely $CSR2{\times}CSR4,\;CSR2{\times}CSR5\;and\;CSR18{\times}CSR19$ for majority of qualitative traits. Post cocoon testing of large quantity of cocoons of $CSR48{\times}CSR5$ resulted in the production of high quality '3A'grade silk. It is for the first time in the Indian Sericulture industry that high quality silk with longer filament length of 1474 m, denier of 2.47, standard size deviation of 0.983 d, maximum size deviation of 1.322, neatness of 96 p, reelability of $85\%$, tenacity of 3.87 g/d, elongation of $22.32\%$ and cohesion of 110 strokes was produced. The superiority of fine denier silkworm breeds and their hybrids are discussed.

In this study, we observed the shapes of CNTs formed with the thinckness of catalyst. Catalyst layer was grown by magnetron sputtering method and the thickness of Ni catalyst is the range from 20 to 80 nm. Also, the synthesis of CNT with Ni catalyst thickness was grown by hot-filament PECVD method. And, we investigated the composition of CNTs by using EDS measurement, also observed the shapes of CNTs by using HRTEM and FESEM measurements. In the result, through the TEM analysis, we observed the empty inside of CNTs and the multiwall CNTs, also confirmed the tip of CNT containing Ni. The composition of CNTs are consisted of an element of C, Ti, and Ni. As you shown the growth shapes of CNTs, the pretreatment of the catalyst before te growth of CNTs changed the particle size of the catalysts and grown the CNTs of the different shapes. Consequently, the best vertically alined and well-arranged CNTs exhibited from the substrate deposited at the catalyst thickness of 40 nm.
To discuss the taxonomic dispositions of Korean Isopyroideae (Ranunculaceae) taxa, principal components analysis and cluster analysis were performed using quantitative and qualitative morphological characters. The principal components analysis revealed that the size and number of ovule, ovary width, ratio of style length/ovary length, filament length, sepal size, style length, leaf size, and ovary length are important characters to distinguish Korean Isopyroideae taxa. The cluster and principal components analyses based on both quantitative and quantitative characters demonstrate that lsopyrum mandshuricum is more closely related to Enemion raddeanum than to Semiaquilegia adoxoides. Even though Enemion s not separated from Isopyrum by uantitative characters, they are distinguished by qualitative characters, suggesting that our taxa, Enemion, Semiaquilegia, Isopyrum and Aquilegia, should be recognized in Korean Isopyroideae. In addition, cluster analyses suggest that S. adoxoides could be separated from Aquilegia buergeriana var, oxysepala.

Single crystal diamonds are in great demand in such fields as mechanical, electronic applications and optoelectronics. Large area single crystal diamonds are attracting attention in future industries for mass production and low cost. In this study, hot filament CVD (HFCVD) is used to grow large area single crystal diamond. However, the growth rate of large area single crystal diamond using HFCVD is known to be very low. The goal of this study is to use single crystal diamond substrates in HFCVD with methane-hydrogen gas mixtures to increase the growth rate of single crystal diamond and to optimize the conditions by analysing the effects of deposition conditions for high quality crystallinity. The deposition pressure, the ratio of CH4/H2 gas, the substrate temperature and the distance between the filament and the substrate were optimized. The sample used a 4×4 (mm2) size single crystal diamond substrate (100), the CH4/H2 gas ratio was fixed at 5%, the substrate temperature was synthesized to about 1000℃. At this time, the deposition pressure was changed to three types of 50, 75, 85 Torr and deposited. Finally, optimization was investigated under pressure conditions to analyse the growth rate and quality of single crystal diamond.
This report is prepared to find how the filament of cocoon bave size deviation relates with the raw silk made by them which are intensively cultured in this country. Three recommended hybrid varieties and two varieties under working at Suwon Sericultural Experiment Station were selected as specimens. The cocoons were reeled as an individual filament of every fifty meters long skein with a wrap reel to weigh the denier and to investigate the relationship of the above statement so that it may be used for the quality estimation before processing it into raw silk. The conclusions obtained are as follows. (1) The variation of Pk${\times}$Sn was found as best cocoon for 21 denier raw silk use, but the number of cocoon to make the denier has to be eight which might cause more labor cost. (2) Baektoo-Kumkang and Myohiang-Chongchon were found as economical varieties for 21 denier use. (3) Seulak-Soyang is a proper variety for the use of 14 or 28 denier silk use. (4) Myohiang-Chongchon did not confirm a good property from the aspect of denier deviation. (5) It was found that there was a fairly strong corelationship between the mean cocoon bave size deviation as indicated by Ono's report. (6) Three graphs were prepared to estimate the cocoon quality before processing into various sizes of raw silk using the mean cocoon bave size and the raw silk size to be prepared. (7) Mean time, the graph which is able to estimate the expectable grade of the raw silk size deviation was designed for the practical use. (8) The expectable grade of the varieties used in this report were found as following data. Notice (A......cocoon number to make raw silk (B......total cocoon bave size deviation (C......expectable silk grade (9) The result of the work concerning the expectable denier deviation on 21 denier silk was the same with the statistical actual testing result as 1.25 D while the distribution showed farther necessity of improvement in technically.
