Software for GafChromic EBT2 film dosimetry was developed in this study. The software provides film calibration functions based on color channels, which are categorized depending on the colors red, green, blue, and gray. Evaluations of the correction effects for light scattering of a flat-bed scanner and thickness differences of the active layer are available. Dosimetric results from EBT2 films can be compared with those from the treatment planning system ECLIPSE or the two-dimensional ionization chamber array MatriXX. Dose verification using EBT2 films is implemented by carrying out the following procedures: file import, noise filtering, background correction and active layer correction, dose calculation, and evaluation. The relative and absolute background corrections are selectively applied. The calibration results and fitting equation for the sensitometric curve are exported to files. After two different types of dose matrixes are aligned through the interpolation of spatial pixel spacing, interactive translation, and rotation, profiles and isodose curves are compared. In addition, the gamma index and gamma histogram are analyzed according to the determined criteria of distance-to-agreement and dose difference. The performance evaluations were achieved by dose verification in the $60^{\circ}$-enhanced dynamic wedged field and intensity-modulated (IM) beams for prostate cancer. All pass ratios for the two types of tests showed more than 99% in the evaluation, and a gamma histogram with 3 mm and 3% criteria was used. The software was developed for use in routine periodic quality assurance and complex IM beam verification. It can also be used as a dedicated radiochromic film software tool for analyzing dose distribution.
A series of field and laboratory experimentes were conducted to find out the effects of kinds of crops residues and the different amount of fertilizer to the microbial interaction, chemical properties, plant growth and their interaction under continous cultivation of hot pepper, soybean, sesame and upland rice. The results obtained were summerized follows : 1. Total number of bacteria and actinomycetes were enhanced by cultivation of upland rice and soybean while no appreciable effects were obtained by the cultivation of hot pepper and sesame. 2. The number of bacteria, actinomycetes and fungi were increased by return of crop residues when the cultivation of hot pepper, soybean, sesame and upland rice. Specially, actinomycetes was remarkably increased by upland rice cultivation. 3. Increased amount of fertilizer were remarkably affected to decrease of number of soil microorganisms. Specially, actinomycetes succession was appearently affects while plant growing time. 4. The number of identified soil bacterial species were obtained high in order of Bacillus sp.>Rhizobium sp.>Agrobacterium sp.>Pseudomonas sp. The number of Gram positive bacteria were superior than that of Gram negative bateria. 5. Interaction between microbial succession and crops cultivation, the number of Bacillus sp. was increased in hot pepper, Rhizobium sp. was in soybean, and sesame, and Agrobacterium sp. were increased in soybean, respectively. 6. Survival and habitate of soil microorganisms were differ with kinds of crop, application of residue and fertilizers. Most high number of Bacillus sp. Rhizobium sp. and Pseudomonas sp. were obtained on the rhizoplane and rhizosphere while Agrobacterium sp. and Fusarium sp. were high in rhizosphere. 7. Factors in relation to change of soil microbial population was obtained high in order of climates>crops>organic>matter>fertilizer.
Plastichouse cultivation for crops and vegetables in the winter has been widely popularized in Korea. In the vinylhouse Ultraviolet B penetration is lower than in the field, and so some problems, as plant overgrowth and outbreak of disease, occurred frequently. The effect of artificial supplement ultraviolet B $(UV-B:280{\sim}320nm)$ radiation on the physiological responses and yield of perilla (perilla frutescens) was investigated UV-B ray was radiated on perilla with the 10th leaf stage at the distance of 90, 120 and 150 cm from the plant canopy for 30 days after planting in the vinylhouse. The production of fresh perilla leaves was high in the order of plastic house, ambient+50% of supplemental UV-B, ambient ambient+100% of supplemental UV-B. Enhanced UV-B radiation affected the intensity of thirty-three proteins in 2-dimensional electrophoretic analysis of proteins and ten proteins out of them seemed to be responsive to UV-B : a protein was, ATP synthase CF1 alpha chain, down regulated and nine proteins (Chlorophyll a/b bindng protein type I, Chlorophyll a/b binding protein type II precursor, Photosystem I P700 chlorophyll a apoprotein A2, DNA recombination and repair protein recF, Galactinol synthase, S-adenosyl-L-methionine, Heat shock protein 21, Calcium-dependent protein kinase(CDPK)-like, Catalase) were up-regulated.
Na-Ca exchange transports calcium ion either into (reverse mode Na-Ca exchange) or out of the cell (forward mode Na-Ca exchange) according to the direction of driving force produced by the changes in ratio of intra- and extra-cellular Na concentrations. Thus, Na-Ca exchange is regarded as the regulator of myocardial contraction. However, the existence of reverse mode Na-Ca exchange and its role in myocardial contraction is still questioned. Present study was performed to identify the presence of reverse mode Na-Ca exchange and its possible involvement in the regulation of myocardial contraction in rat heart. Using the left atria of rat, contraction was induced by electrical field stimulation (EFS, 0.5 msec duration and supramaximal voltage). Changing of the stimulation frequencies from resting 4 Hz to 0.4, 1 or 8 Hz caused typical negative staircase effect in twitch tension, but $^{45}Ca$ uptake showed bimodal increase. When the stimulation frequency was abruptly changed from 4 Hz to 0.4 Hz the atrial twitch tension showed three phased-enhancement, that is, the initial rapid increase (the first phase) followed by rapid decrease (the second phase) and stabilization (the third phase). $^{45}Ca$ uptake was equivalent to tension, i.e. initial significant increase in first 30 second and then decrease. Benzamil treatment abolished the first phase of increase in a dose dependent manner from $10^{-5}\;to\;3{\times}10^{-4}M.$ Bay k 8644 $(3{\times}10^{-5}M)$ treatment enhanced the inotropy induced by frequency reduction and abolished the second and third phase decreases. Benzamil treatment also suppressed the contraction stimulated by Bay K 8644. Although the contraction at 4 Hz stimulation was completely abolished by verapamil $3{\times}10^{-5}\;M$ pretreatment, the contraction reappeared as soon as the stimulation frequency was changed into 0.4 or 1 Hz and interstingly,$^{45}Ca$ uptake were significantly higher than no treatment. From these results, it is concluded that reduction of stimulation frequency causes calcium influx by the reverse mode Na-Ca exchange, resulting in initial rapid increase of twitch tension. then it turns into forward mode exchange to efflux the calcium, resulting in decrease of the twitch tension in left atria of rat.
This study was conducted to examine the effects of plant growth regulators (PGRs) on the lateral stem growth, and the change of total nonstructural carbohydrate (TNC) status of 'Zenith' zoysiagrass under shaded conditions. Well-established turf was subjected to a full sun, 47%, and 77% shade in a field study. Three different rates of flurprimidol (FP: 0.2, 0.4, and $0.8\;kg{\cdot}ha^{-1}$), paclobutrazol (PB: 0.16, 0.32, and $0.64\;kg{\cdot}ha^{-1}$), and trinexapac-ethyl (TE: 0.04, 0.08, and $0.16\;kg{\cdot}ha^{-1}$) were applied. Lateral development of 'Zenith' zoysiagrass decreased with increasing shade levels. However, compared with control plots, total stolon length and stolon number increased two fold at 0.2, $0.4\;kg{\cdot}ha^{-1}$ FP, and $0.16\;kg{\cdot}ha^{-1}$ PB under full sun. Under 77% shading, stolon number increased by 170% and total stolon length increased by 140% at $0.8\;kg{\cdot}ha^{-1}$ FP. Tiller number increased by 40% at $0.08\;kg{\cdot}ha^{-1}$ TE under full sun, and by 72% at $0.16\;kg{\cdot}ha^{-1}$ TE under 77% shading. The TNC contents of turfgrass treated with $0.8\;kg{\cdot}ha^{-1}$ FP and $0.16\;kg{\cdot}ha^{-1}$ TE increased by 50% as compared with control. Remarkably, nonstructural carbohydrates (NC) partitioning was enhanced by PGRs from leaf tissue to lateral stem tissue, which increased lateral development and may have contributed to recuperative rate. These results suggested that treatments of proper rate of PGRs could enhance the recuperative rate of 'Zenith' zoysiagrass by increasing lateral stem growth especially in shaded conditions.
Aflatoxins are secondary metabolites of the molds of Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus. They are highly carcinogenic compounds and can affect a wide range of vegetable commodities such as cereals (especially corn), nuts, peanuts, fruits and oil seeds, in the field and during storage. In fact, oilseeds are often stored for weeks in conditions that promote the mould growth, and the possible consequent presence of aflatoxins in oilseeds can lead to their transfer in oil. In addition, aflatoxins can be found as a natural contaminant in multi-cereals and beans making baby food for infants and young-children. The objective of this study was to validate the liquid extraction method or develop an analytical method for edible oil and infant-children foods. Therefore, this study developed condition of extract for aflatoxins ($B_1$, $B_2$, $G_1$ and $G_2$) in edible oil using a high performance liquid chromatography with florescence detector (HPLC/FLD). Aflatoxins were extracted from edible oil samples by means of MSPD (Matrix solid phased dispersion), utilizing $C_{18}$ as dispersing material and purified by using immunoaffinity column. The gression line coefficients were above 0.999. The recoveries for aflatoxins ranged from 85.9 to 93.0%, and relative standard deviations were below 5.7%. The new developed method of aflatoxins effectively enhanced recoveries by using MSPD-Immunoaffinity column compared with liquid extraction. The analytical method for liquid extraction of aflatoxin was appropriate for infant-children food. Reviewing the current method, the recoveries of aflatoxins ($B_1$, $B_2$, $G_1$ and $G_2$) were 89.5~92.3%.
Field microplot(D 20cm, L 85cm) experiment filled with Bonryang sandy loam soil(Typic Udifluvents) was conducted to obtain quantitative information on the movement of applied nutrients under different soil moisture regimes and ladino clover cultivation. The slaked lime was detected as an exchangeable Ca in the layer applied. The released Ca into the soil water proceeded rapid downward movement. Ca content in the soil was lowest at 20~30cm and tended to increase with soil depth. Downward movement of Mg in the slaked lime was similar to the movement of Ca to a greater extent. Plant uptake of Mg and leaching loss out of the microplot increased with lowering soil moisture tension. Downward movement of K was rapid in comparision with Ca and Mg. Lowering soil moisture tension enhanced both plant uptake and leaching loss of applied K. Irrigation at 0.2bar soil miosture condition increased plant uptake of Ca, Mg and K by 55, 71 and 76 % to compare to the plant uptake of Ca:0.49g, Mg:0.21g and K:1.90g/microplot at the nonirrigated condition respectively. Distribution of each of these elements seemed to be greatly affected by the downward movement of Ca with soil moisture, plant uptake of Mg(69%), and plant uptake and downward movement of K.

In this paper, we introduce how to control TR, TE physical MR parameters for managing $H_1$ spin's SI(Signal Intensity) which is combined with gadolinium following administration MR agent in T1 effect for diagnostic usefulness. we used MRI phantom made with 0.5 mol Gadoteridol. This phantom was scanned by FSE sequence with different TR, TE parameters. In this study, to make T1 effect, TR was 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500, 550, 600 msec. In addition to, TE was 6.2, 12.4, 18.6, 21.6 msec. The results were as follows ; Each RSP(Reaction Starting Point) was 100, 50, 40, 30 mmol in TE 6.2, 12.4, 18.6, 21.6 msec being irrelevant to TR. In MPSI(Max Peak Signal Intensity), 4 mmol was showed in TR 200 msec while peak signal was decreased to low concentration mol in TR 250-600 msec. In terms of RA(Reaction Area), the highest SI was TE 6.2 msec in TR 200-600msec. According to the study, we are able to recognize it is possible to control enhance rates by managing TR and TE of MR parameters; moreover, we expect that enhanced T1 image in MR clinical field can be performed in a practical way with this quantitative data.

The purpose of this study was to determine the growth characteristics and distribution pattern of a brackish water clam Corbicula japonica in Seomjin River. Field samples were taken from 14 stations with salinity gradients during spring. Salinity at the bottom layer ranged from 1.0 psu to 32.9 psu, with low salinities in the upper area of the river. In particular, salinity at St.11 was decreased drastically to be ca. 15.0 psu, indicating an intermediate salinity zone. The distribution pattern of C. japonica was related to the salinity gradient, with the highest densities of $2,102ind.m^{-2}$ at Station 13, followed by $1,507ind.m^{-2}$ at Station 11. Here, we focused on the growth characteristics of collected C. japonica collected at two stations with different salinity values. The relationship between shell length and total weight was highly correlated ($R^2=0.91$, P<0.001) at Station 13 compared to that at Station 11 ($R^2=0.72$, P<0.001). On the other hands, the degree of correlation between shell length and shell height (SH) or shell width (SW) at Station 11 (SH: $R^2=0.91$, P<0.001; SW: $R^2=0.69$, P<0.001) was higher than that at Station 13 (SH: $R^2=0.64$, P<0.001; SW: $R^2=0.48$, P<0.001). In addition, fatness index of C. japonica at Station 13 was significantly (P < 0.001) higher than that at St. 11 (t-test value=-22.8, p<0.001). This implies that C. japonica at Station 13 might have enhanced their somatic growth, whereas C. japonica at Station 11 might have this kind of defense mechanism their internal organization against the salinity stress. Ecologically, this kind of defense mechanism of C. japonica against salinity flucuation may play an important role in their survival strategy.
