PURPOSES : This study is to suggest tunnel length to spray curing compound, based on the field tests. METHODS : At first field test, length from the entrance of tunnel to wet wall was checked by visual survey. The second and third test, various sensors were installed in concrete or in tunnel, such as RH sensor, temperature sensor, portable weather station and etc.. And also, test for bleeding and retaining water of concrete were conducted to evaluate environmental effect on concrete pavement. RESULTS : The result of the field experiment for tunnel length to spray curing compound indicates that length changes depending on tunnel length, season, and location. Environmental condition of a short tunnel was not much different between location near entrance and at center of tunnel. However, in case of a medium and long tunnel, effect of outside environmental condition decreased, when location moved into tunnel center of it. CONCLUSIONS : From the testing results, it can be proposed that optimum tunnel length to spray curing compound is 60m for a medium and long tunnel, and whole length for a short tunnel.

Recently, the automotive technology has developed with electronics and information technology as convergence technology while vehicles had been regarded as machines. Moreover, vehicles are becoming more intelligent and safer devices, assembly of advanced technologies by customers' demand. Even though all of installations of vehicle have attracted as diverting devices, it cause drivers' mistakes like delay of response on traffic condition. Here, we proposed the Field Operational Test (FOT) environment which could be used as driving and road conditions collector(Vehicle motion, Traffic condition, Driver input, Driver state, etc.) for researches about Driver Friendly Intelligent System(SCC, LDWS, etc.), Human Vehicle Interface(Driving Workload, etc.) and Economic Drive Model. Furthermore driving patten and fuel consumption patten of drivers were analyzed by measured data and direction of future research was suggested.
The footing of a bridge is a very essential part that support the whole load induced by the bridge itself and the traffic as well. However, once a bridge is built, the footing is buried under soil so the footing is invisible from outside. Therefore, the safety or condition of the footing is very difficult to estimate. Not only the length of the imbedded part of the footings but also the type of footings are unknown once the design record is gone. Some nondestructive techniques can be used to evaluate invisible part of the footings but the results have not been successful yet. Using GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar), which has been used for the nondestructive evaluation in military purposes, the condition assessment of the footings have been successfully conducted in this research. The field evaluation and laboratory tests have been conducted to find effective factors in the condition assessment of the footings. The equipment and basic theory of the GPR has been presented. The field test results show that the GPR can be successfully used for the safety evaluation of the footings. More test results and field data are needed for more precise evaluation of the footings.

Background and Objectives: The speech-in-noise test is typically performed using an audiometer. The results of the digit-in-noise recognition (DIN) test may be influenced by the flat frequency response of free-field audiometry and frequency of the hearing aid fit based on fitting rationale. This study aims to investigate the DIN test in unaided and aided conditions. Subjects and Methods: Thirty four adults with moderate and severe sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) participated in the study. The signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for 50% of the DIN test was obtained in the following two conditions: 1) the unaided condition, performed using an audiometer in a free field; and 2) aided condition, performed using a hearing aid with an unvented individual earmold that was fitted based on NAL-NL2. Results: There was a statistically significant elevation in the mean SNR for the severe SNHL group in both test conditions when compared with that of the moderate SNHL group. In both groups, the SNR for the aided condition was significantly lower than that of the unaided condition. Conclusions: Speech recognition in hearing-impaired patients can be realized by fitting hearing aids based on evidence-based fitting rationale rather than by measuring it using free-field audiometry measurement that is utilized in a routine clinic setup.
ANAMMOX (Anaerobic ammonium oxidation) reactor, which was cultivated ANAMMOX bacteria in mesophilic condition ($35^{\circ}C$), was operated to investigate the effects of temperature. In $20{\sim}30^{\circ}C$ of operation condition, which was assumed as field-temperature, total N removal and $NH_4-N$ removal rate were declined from about 2.50 and $1.27kg\;N/{m^3}_{reactor}-day$ (0.06 and 0.03 kg N/kgVSS/day) to 1.62 and $0.41kg\;N/{m^3}_{reactor}-day$ (0.04 and 0.01 kg N/kgVSS/day), In this range of temperature, ANAMMOX had very low activities but acid fermentation bacteria and denitrifiers, which were competitors of substrates, had high activities relatively. Though operation temperature was higher than inhibition condition for two months, ANAMMOX activities could not been recovered once they were inhibited by low temperature. This fact was resulted from very slow doubling time of ANAMMOX bacteria. This study shows that maintenance device of optimal temperature is necessary required in field application of ANAMMOX.
When using the conventional finite element method, a great number of grid nodes are necessary to describe the large and uneven temperature gradients in the concrete around cooling pipes when calculating the temperature field of mass concrete with cooling pipes. In this paper, the temperature gradient properties of the concrete around a pipe were studied. A new calculation method was developed based on these properties and an explicit iterative algorithm. With a small number of grid nodes, both the temperature distribution along the cooling pipe and the temperature field of the concrete around the water pipe can be correctly calculated with this new method. In conventional computing models, the cooling pipes are regarded as the third boundary condition when solving a model of concrete with plastic pipes, which is an approximate way. At the same time, the corresponding parameters have to be got by expensive experiments and inversion. But in the proposed method, the boundary condition is described strictly, and thus is more reliable and economical. And numerical examples were used to illustrate that this method is accurate, efficient and applicable to the actual engineering.
The purpose of the research was to examine the effect of field of view on egocentric distance perception in the real and virtual environment. The replica that mimicked the real environment condition was used to create the virtual environment condition. We manipulated field of view levels equally in both viewing conditions using glasses that limit the field of view in real-world conditions and limiting the field of view in virtual-world conditions in a manner equivalent to real-world conditions via HMD. Eighteen participants observed the target with a limited field of view in a real and virtual environment without head movement. Then, we measured perceived distance using the timed imagined walking method, which measures the time taken by each participant to mentally walk to the target. The target was shown three times at three different distances from the participants: 3, 4, and 5 m. For the analysis, we converted time estimates into distance estimates. Consequently, the estimated distance in the virtual environment condition was less than the estimated distance in the real environment condition. And as the field of view shrank, the estimated distance also decreased. The estimated distance did not vary with field of view levels in real-world conditions. In the virtual environment, the estimated distance decreased as the field of view decreased, whereas in the real environment, the estimated distance increased. The implications of the results and some future research directions are discussed below.

Tunnel modelling in the field of geotechnical engineering essentially requires models of tunnelling machines and the simulation of tunnelling processes to clarify the detailed behaviour of tunnel construction. Modern advanced mechatronics, including construction processes, machinining and control technologies, are making it possible to fabricate such models. These technologies, however, are essentially developed in a gravity field condition and are needed to examine in a 1g or cenrifuge field condition. This paper presents the simulation method for tunnelling processes and the design method for tunnelling machines with special reference to the problem of earth pressure acting on the lining of a shield tunnel. The paper then introduces and verifies the design method for tunnelling machines in the 1g field by means of checking the reproduceability of experiment data and their comparison with data in the field.
The study was performed to establish a criteria which can be served as a reference in preparing upland direct payment program in Korea, by analyzing WTO agreement content and by studying about direct payment program in EU and Japan and by slope analysis using GIS. Slope analysis using GIS was operated by 1/5000 digital map, and a field survey was put in practice, and merits and demerits were deduced. We can propose a criteria to select the disadvantaged areas in aspects of physical condition, farming condition. and economical and social condition is important to regionally classify "less-favored area(LFA)" and LFA division by economical and social condition is needed to identify legally. Therefore, we would propose a criteria which can select "less-favored area" by analyzing WTO agreement content and by studying about direct payment program in EU and Japan and slope analysis using GIS and a field survey.
In a recent paper [10] we introduced the notion of Levi harmonic map f from an almost contact semi-Riemannian manifold (M, ${\varphi}$, ${\xi}$, ${\eta}$, g) into a semi-Riemannian manifold $M^{\prime}$. In particular, we compute the tension field ${\tau}_H(f)$ for a CR map f between two almost contact semi-Riemannian manifolds satisfying the so-called ${\varphi}$-condition, where $H=Ker({\eta})$ is the Levi distribution. In the present paper we show that the condition (A) of Rawnsley [17] is related to the ${\varphi}$-condition. Then, we compute the tension field ${\tau}_H(f)$ for a CR map between two arbitrary almost contact semi-Riemannian manifolds, and we study the concept of Levi pluriharmonicity. Moreover, we study the harmonicity on quasicosymplectic manifolds.
