  • Induction heating is commonly used in process heating prior to metal working and in heat treationg, welding, and melting. For an analysis of induction heating system, it is necessary to calculate eddy currents in conductors induced by a source current. This study examines the use of the Impedance Boundary Condition for the reduction of the field problem encountered in the computation of eddy currents in non-magnetic and magnetic conductors with small penetration depths to a simpler exterior problem. The electric field intensities on the conductor surfaces computed by using the IBC are compared with the values obtained from the full region solution (i.e. without the use of IBC) and those agree well with the latter.

  • Absorptive material arrangement method for effective interior noise control is proposed. Sound field with arbitrary boundary condition is formulated by Kirchhoff-Helmholtz integral equation. A simple example such as a rectangular cavity will present physical meaning between changing boundary condition and control of sound field. The effect of changing boundary condition is expressed in modal admittance. From this formulation, an admittance map is presented. The admittance map is the figure to represent position where absorptive material is attached. The admittance map can be assigned to each resonant frequency. There, however, may be common area of those maps. Then, frequency robust arrangement of absorptive material in noise control will be presented.

  • This paper proposed an analytical model for the distributed magnetic field analysis of interior permanent magnet-type blush-less direct current motors under the stator-turn fault condition using the winding function theory. Stator-turn faults cause significant changes in electric and magnetic characteristic. Therefore, many studies on stator-turn faults have been performed by simulation of the finite element method because of its non-linear characteristic. However, this is difficult to apply to on-line fault detection systems because the processing time of the finite element method is very long. Fault-tolerant control systems require diagnostic methods that have simple processing systems and can produce accurate information. Thus analytical modeling of a stator-turn fault has been performed using the winding function theory, and the distributed magnetic characteristics have been analyzed under the fault condition. The proposed analytical model was verified using the finite element method.

  • For the purposes of drilling oil field and extracting oil deep water in more rough weather, the size of drilling rigs must be estimated. In this paper, the three dimensional source distribution method is used and we assume 10 deg. heeling and trimming condition of the drilling rig(SR-192). Also, the effects of the hydrodynamic forces which include the drift forces for field method, and the motion responses are studied with changing the incident wave direction in the assumed inclining condition. The theory and numerical codes used in this thesis appeared to be very useful for the preliminary design of drilling rigs.

  • This paper presents Galerkin- and Upwind-finite element analyses solution in the travelling magnetic filed problem. The travelling magnetic field problem is subject to convective- diffusion equation. Therefore, the solution derived from Galerkin-FEM with linear interpolation function may oscillate between the adjacent nodes. A simple model with Derichlet, Noumann and periodic boundary condition respectively, have been analyzed to investigate stabilities of solutions. It is concluded that the solution of Galerkin-FEM may oscillate according to boundary condition and element type, but that of Upwind-FEM is stable regardless boundary condition.

  • With the ever-increasing important of high-speed information in society as we move towards the 21 st century. Interior design and it's working condition has been changed a great deal included a sort of each special character and make a difference against the others. It used to be find a great poles asunder of worker's safety and project quality according to the environmental dimension of interior construction field as if they should be a pleasantness or poor condition. This research aimed to improvement of environmental construction field of interior with construction engineers and particular interior labors in 4 phases as : ⅠThe preparatory phase : -Secure a Budget, Environmental safety supervisor -Fix of Design quality, Construction period. -Choice of Construction method, Sub constructing Ⅱ. Starting work phase ; -Capacity , Safety of temporary power line. -Carriage, Stock of Material -Safety of Electronic tools, -Personal protector. Ⅲ. Working period ; -Ventilation, I illumination of working place. -Measurement of environmental working condition Ⅳ.Finish working phase ; -Analysis of measurement data. -Evaluation and making up for the weak point. -Keeping data.

  • It is demonstrated by using a highly positive uranium ion as a test case that the exact relation between the small and the large components of a Dirac spinor in relativistic self-consistent-field (RSCF) calculations is not fully satisfied by the kinetic balance condition only even for two electron systems. For a fixed number of large component basis functions, total energies are sensitive to the change of the size of the small component basis sets even after the kinetic balance condition is fully satisfied. However, the kinetic balance condition appears to be a reasonable guideline in generating reliable and practical basis sets for most applications of RSCF calculations. With a complete small component basis set, energies from RSCF calculations exhibit a variational behavior, implying the stability of the present RSCF procedure.

  • EHZP is a kind of holographic optical element, which is generated by the interference of two divergent spherical waves from point sources on the same axis. It has the spherical aberration that the focal power increases as the radial distance r increases. By using this property, optimal design of EHZP was performed for f-$\theta$ lens. As the result of optimization, the f-$\theta$ condition and the field flattening condition were well satisfied when EHZP has f0=0.803f, faR=4.076f, 1=0.406f. It was assumed for calculation of field flattening condition that the incident wave was a plane wave with the diameter of 1mm.

  • Carbon nanofiber bundles were formed on silicon substrate using microwave plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition system. These bundles were vertically well-grown under the high negative bias voltage condition. The bundles were composed of the individual carbon nanofiber having less than 100 nm diameters. Turn-on voltage of the field emission was measured around 0.8 V/$\mu\textrm{m}$. Fowler-Nordheim plot of the measured values confirmed the field emission characteristic of the measured current.
