The field of neural networks has been a recent surge in activity as a result of progress in developments of efficient training algorithms. For this reason, and coupled with the widespread availability of powerful personal computer hardware for running simulations of networks, there is increasing focus on the potential benefits this field can offer. The neural network may be viewed as an advanced pattern recognition technique and can be applied in many areas such as financial time series forecasting, medical diagnostic expert system and etc.. The intention of this study is to build and implement one simple artificial neural networks hereinafter called ANN. For this purpose, some literature survey was undertaken to understand the structures and algorithms of ANN theoretically. Based on the review of theories about ANN, the system adopted 3-layer back propagation algorithms as its learning algorithm to simulate one case of medical diagnostic model. The adopted ANN algorithm was performed in PC by using turbo PASCAL and many input parameters such as the numbers of layers, the numbers of nodes, the number of cycles for learning, learning rate and momentum term. The system output more or less successful results which nearly agree with goals we assumed. However, the system has some limitations such as the simplicity of the programming structure and the range of parameters it can dealing with. But, this study is useful for understanding general algorithms and applications of ANN system and can be expanded for further refinement for more complex ANN algorithms.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the needs for developing a curriculum for strengthening the long-term care service expertise and job competency. Specifically, the researchers analyzed previous studies on national long-term care services and national policy data, and conducted focus group interviews with 14 experts from related agencies. Activity theory was applied as a framework for analysis and a questionnaire about the importance and difficulty of subjects from 25 long-term service employees was administered for validating the results of the qualitative data analysis. The upper part of the subject-goal-tool of the activity system was considered the main area of action, and the following rule-community-division was divided into contextual parts for action, and the implications for demand analysis and future operation of the online curriculum are summarized. In total, six courses were required for development. These courses could be applied to as a learner-centered flip learning for long-term care service workers and various educational methods of collective education and supplementary education have been proposed. Based on the study results, implications in the educational field for effective management of courses were suggested at the end of the study.

In the age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, lifestyle and industrial structures are faced with evolution from IT-based automation to the intelligent stage, demanding talents with software capabilities in various fields. Reflecting these demands, the government has enhanced basic software education for non-majors in elementary and secondary schools as well as universities. In this study, the software convergence education of Non-Majors is proposed to improve the general problem solving ability based on computational thinking and the software convergence ability in the field of their own by developing robot activity. The subjects of this study were 91 students, who were composed of various majors. The class was designed with computing thinking, convergence elements, and creative robot activity. The study was conducted for 13 weeks. To examine the effects of software convergence education through the creative robot activity, this study observed changes in the students' learning outcomes, satisfaction with creative robot activities, and perceptions of other disciplines after class based on pre-diagnosis surveys. The survey asked 12 questions including an understanding of the learning contents, overall satisfaction with multidisciplinary collaborative learning, understanding of other disciplines, and self-evaluation of problem solving ability through creative robot activities, which were compared with that before the class. They answered that their ability was improved.
This study aims to explore the duty system of the lifelong learning counseling, and to analyze the needs of counseling practice which are conceived by lifelong education practitioners. Based on the related prior studies, the duty system of lifelong learning counseling was investigated and classified. Also, differences of how to recognize the importance of counseling job and how to practice counseling are assessed by Borich method. After data were collected by practitioners from lifelong education field, the dependent t-test and the Borich needs assessment formula were used for analysis of the collected data. The results are as follows: the 4 subdivided duties of lifelong learning counseling are formation of relationship, learner's analysis, learning promotion, and follow-up management. The 11 tasks are learner's interview, providing learning information, analysis of learner's characteristics and needs, learning level diagnosis, diagnosis of learning inhibiting factors, promotion of learning motivation, advice of learning course and learning method, support of study circle activity, career planning counseling, follow-up counseling, and counseling evaluation. According to the needs assessment, learner's analysis is conceived as the most important duty among the 4 sub-duties, and learner's analysis is regarded as second important duty by the counseling practitioners. Among the 11 tasks, providing learning information is the most important tasks among counseling practitioners, and analysis of learner's characteristics and needs is followed as second task. The duty system of the lifelong learning counseling and needs assessment data can be used as the basic data for lifelong education practitioners to conduct the duty of lifelong learning counseling efficiently and to support the lifelong learning plan according to learner's characteristics.
This study aims at giving examples that can be applied in the real education field, and it develops theme-based integrative education program for Industrial Specialized high school students. It analyzed the models of many scholars about the development of education course, and devised developmental models and procedures of the theme-based integrative education program of engineering specialized high school from those. As a result, it used and reorganized ADDIE model which is the systematic education course development model and the theme-based integrative education development model of Frazee and Rudnitski(1995) as the basic structure, and came to devise theme-based integrative education program of engineering specialized high school while referring to creative engineering design education program development model by Lee Chang-hoon. This study that is theme-based integrative education program for engineering-specialized high school students and is the result of this study has the following characters. First, This theme-based integrative education program that is developed for engineering-specialized high school students can be applied and the initial example that approach the Theme-Based. Second, This Education Program included the Activity project that is "Making Maglev" for the third grade at the engineering-specialized high school and One of the Program's aim is to bring up their attitude that engaged to in the class having the Interest. Third, Theme-based integrative education program for engineering-specialized high school is composed the workbook for the students and the teaching guidance plan for the teachers. Workbook for the students is composed four Units;"Brief about the Maglev","Basic principles about the Maglev","Intensive principles about the Maglev", Activity project about the Maglev". And each unit is made by Learning Purpose, Introducing, Learning Contents(Deepen Learning, Reading Magazines), Assesment etc. Teaching guidance plan for the teachers include that Summary, Purpose, Time Planing & Streaming Map for the class, contents associated Maglev, prerequisite learning, constructure of the education program, flow chart, learning activity, assesment(self-appraiser and peer review).
For this study, the 'Game Activities' lessons presented in the math textbooks from the 1st grade to the 6th were examined in terms of learning materials, the learning members' make-up, the playing structures, and the relation with the contents. In addition, the survey by means of questionnaires was conducted to analyze the actual condition of teachers' guidance in the field. The findings from this research were as follows: First, as for the activities presented in the textbooks, it turned out that too much emphasis is placed upon plays mainly using learning materials such as cards and dice played by teams of two. In addition, there have been shown negative aspects in various ways of plays putting too much emphasis on certain types of plays such as and structures. As for the relation with the contents, although lots of efforts were taken to connect the playing activity to the lesson contents, there were units presenting plays based on the preceding lesson's repeated activity, ones that have weak link with the contents. Second, it turned out that the teachers had negative attitude on the guidance using the 'Game Activities' lesson, although they were aware of the effects of playing in math learning. This seemed to result from the delicate variety and insufficient preparation for the play. Besides, the findings indicate that the appreciation and activity of the 'Game Activities' lesson presented as a way of performance evaluation. for play need to be provided in school or classrooms for teachers and students to make good use of them.
The hippocampus and prefrontal cortex are regarded as the highest-order association cortices. The hippocampus has been proposed to store "cognitive maps" of external environments, and the prefrontal cortex is known to be involved in the planning of behavior, among other functions. Considering the prominent functional roles played by these structures, it is not surprising to find direct monosynaptic projections from the hippocampus to the prefrontal cortex. Rhythmic stimulation of this projection patterned after the hippocampal EEG theta rhythm induced stable long-term potentiation of field potentials in the prefrontal cortex. Comparison of behavioral correlates of hippocampal and prefrontal cortical neurons during an a-arm radial maze, working memory task shows a striking contrast. Hippocampal neurons exhibit clear place-specific firing patterns, whereas prefrontal cortical neurons do not show spatial selectivity, but are correlated to different stages of the behavioral task. These data lead to the hypothesis that the role of hippocampal projection to the prefrontal cortex is not to impose spatial representations upon prefrontal activity, but to provide a mechanism for learning the spatial context in which particular behaviors are appropriate.propriate.
Purpose of this study is understanding of group modeling process focusing on constraints with geological field trip applied on social-construction of scientific model. This study was carried out on 12 students of 3 groups who participate in the study 'S' gifted education center. Students were conducted to theme of 'How was formation of Mt. Gwanak?' on 2 field trip classes and 3 modeling classes. Semi-structured interviews, all discourse of field trip and modeling classes, records of personal and group activity were analyzed to constraints based on theoretical background proposed by Nersessian (2008). Results as follows. First, sources of constraints are scientific knowledge, contents observed by students during field trips and additional materials things to be explained by model during modeling class with geological field trip applied on social-construction of scientific model. Second, there are 3 types of constraints to affect making group modeling. It is that shared constraint which used commonly by all the group members. It called selected constraint that used during the initial modeling and later were reflected on for use in the group modeling. And it is that generated constraints, which were not in the initial modeling but were used later in the group modeling. This study suggests that not only the constraints can help to understand of making group model through how they used but also show that example of learning with geological field trip on social-construction of scientific model to contribute school science.
As research on the instruction method of the concept of irrational numbers, this thesis is theoretically based on the Freudenthal's Mathematising Instruction Theory and a conducted case study in order to find an introduction method of irrational numbers. The purpose of this research is to provide practical information about the instruction method ?f irrational numbers. For this, research questions have been chosen as follows: 1. What is the introducing method of irrational numbers based on the Freudenthal's Mathematising Instruction Theory? 2 What are the Characteristics of the teaming process shown in class using introducing instruction of irrational numbers based on the Freudenthal's Mathematising Instruction? For questions 1 and 2, we conducted literature review and case study respectively For the case study, we, as participant observers, videotaped and transcribed the course of classes, collected data such as reports of students' learning activities, information gathered through interviews, and field notes. The result was analyzed from three viewpoints such as the characteristics of problems, the application of mathematical means, and the development levels of irrational numbers concept.

The automatic monitoring and detection of crowd behavior in the surveillance videos has obtained significant attention in the field of computer vision due to its vast applications such as security, safety and protection of assets etc. Also, the field of crowd analysis is growing upwards in the research community. For this purpose, it is very necessary to detect and analyze the crowd behavior. In this paper, we proposed a deep learning-based method which detects abnormal activities in surveillance cameras installed in a smart city. A fine-tuned VGG-16 model is trained on publicly available benchmark crowd dataset and is tested on real-time streaming. The CCTV camera captures the video stream, when abnormal activity is detected, an alert is generated and is sent to the nearest police station to take immediate action before further loss. We experimentally have proven that the proposed method outperforms over the existing state-of-the-art techniques.
