  • Purpose: This study was conducted to determine factors affecting the positive feelings and care burden of elderly residents' primary caregivers in long-term care facilities. Methods: The survey was conducted between November and December 2018. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data, and 148 individuals voluntarily participated. The collected data were examined through descriptive statistical analysis using SPSS WIN ver.24.0, t-test, one-way Anova $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. Results: Factors that significantly affected caregivers' positive feelings included caregivers' education level(${\beta}=-.32$, p<.001), social support(${\beta}=.31$, p<.001), care burden(${\beta}=-.29$, p=.001), and total support fee(not more than 1.5million won)(${\beta}=-.18$, p=.012). The explanation power was as high as 40.0%(Adj $R^2=.40$). Factors that significantly affected caregivers' burden included social support(${\beta}=-.25$, p=.002), positive feelings(${\beta}=-.25$, p=.002), elderly individual's religion(${\beta}=-.17$, p=.007), and elderly individual's marriage status(${\beta}=.17$, p=.021). The explanation power was as high as 45.0%(Adj $R^2=.45$). Conclusion: Our results suggest that it is necessary to increase social support for elderly residents' primary caregivers in long-term care facilities. This can be helpful to decrease burden and enhance positive feelings in caregivers. We should also collect caregivers' information as well to provide appropriate assistance.

  • There are various kinds of good feelings in indoor environment such as comfort, pleasure, delight, refreshment, geniality, etc. Each feeling is interrelated with other complex elements of senses such as warmth, coldness, calmness, clearness, brightness, etc. In this paper, we described what is good feeling in indoor environment, and developed elements of good feelings using Emotion & Sensibility engineering approach. Resultant elements of good feelings were "comfort," "refreshment," and "freshness." Secondary, we investigated the relationships of these elements with certain elements of senses. "Comfort" is related with "warmth, calmness, brightness, and very clearness in indoor air." "Refreshment" and "freshness" are related with "coldness, moderately calmness, very brightness, and very clearness in indoor air." The relationships were formulated as a fuzzy model. By applying human intuition to this model, we could determine physical ranges of "comfort, refreshment, and freshness."

  • This study examined links between parental monitoring of child's daily activities, 3 sources of parents' knowledge, and children's deviant behaviors and self-esteem. Participants were 276 tenth grade boys. Children completed questionnaires about parental monitoring and their own internal adjustments and deviant behaviors. High parental control was linked to less deviant behavior in children regardless of children's feelings of being controlled. The association between parental control and children's feelings of being controlled was moderated by children's depression. Parental control was not related to children's depression and self-esteem, and further, children's feelings of being controlled were not related to self-esteem after controlling for depression. The findings suggest that parental control efforts are an effective way to prevent children's deviant behaviors.

  • Researchers examined elementary school children's experiences and the way that their mothers scolded them. In their writings, the children reported that their mothers under-estimated them, and assumed that they were not able to do anything by themselves. This reflected on the way that the mothers disciplined their children. The mothers were not a good model of proper behavior and did not treat the siblings fairly. The mothers were directive and valued results over effort. The children confessed that they felt suicidal, miserable and wanted to run away from home. They had a love-hate relationship with their mothers. They had to hide their real feelings and show love and respect towards their mothers. They had conflicts in dealing with these feelings. Their inability to show their real feelings and their dependency on their mothers made them return home, much like a boomerang. As a result, the children learned how to respond quickly in avoiding scolding situations. Furthermore, they learned the most important lesson; that it is all right to be abusive as long as it is for their or anybody else's own good.

  • Associations between parents' knowledge of their adolescent child's daily activities, 3 sources of parental knowledge, children's feelings of being controlled, and the child-reported parent-child relationship were explored among 161 seventh grade, 158 eighth, 145 tenth, and 142 eleventh grade boys. Children's spontaneous disclosure explained more parental knowledge of their daily activities than parental solicitation or parental control. For 10th grade children, the association between parental control and children's feelings of being controlled was moderated by the mother-child relationship. Tenth and eleventh grade children's disclosure were more strongly associated with parent-child relationship than with parental control and children's feelings of being controlled.

  • This study studied the seasons in the novel Snowy Read and the archetypal characteristics in natural phenomena. Summer and winter are the main seasons of Snowy Road. The cycle of the day is the time of dawn and early morning, evening, or night. It is summer now, and memory day is winter. In Snowy Road, 'I' is in sharp conflict with my mom during the summer season. This conflict is resolved and resurfaced with the feeling of 'love' as the story of the day is told in the mother's memory. It was a long time of conflict and trials for winter in the memory of me and my mother. As a result of examining the circular symbols in the Snowy Road, each symbol represents the 'I' and 'the mother's feelings'. 'I' and 'Mom's Emotions' collide, but they confirm each other's sincerity and rebuild their feelings of conflict with 'love'. In Snowy Road, the mother and son's 'love' shows that the mother's son is deeply in love, but the son's mother's love is also very deep.

  • Previous research has demonstrated that happy moods are known to promote feeling-based processing, whereas sad moods promote reason-based processing. The current research investigates a boundary condition for the effects of a happy mood on feeling-based decision making. This research proposes that the level of control (low vs. high) one exercises in a happy situation can promote a greater reliance on feelings (vs. reasons) in making judgments and decisions. Specifically, we hypothesize that (1) a happy individual in a situation where control level is low (vs. high) will be more likely to choose a cognitively (vs. affectively) superior option (hypothesis 1), and (2) a happy individual in a situation where control level is low (vs. high) will exert reason- (vs. feeling-) based processing (hypothesis 2). Consistent with the hypothesis 1, the results of two experiments show that happy individuals are more likely to choose cognitively versus affectively superior options in a situation where control level is low (vs. high). Moreover, the mediation analysis confirms that happy individuals are more likely to rely on cognitive, reason-based decision making when their control level is low, which supports the hypothesis 2.

  • In this paper, Depression is a mental disorder characterized by a lack of enthusiasm and feelings of sadness, which significantly impairs daily functioning. In 2018, there was an increase in book sales in the essay genre, particularly the popularity of "healing essays." This trend is seen as challenging the negative image and prejudices associated with depression. In 2021, a significant rise in the proportion of 20-year-old patients with depression is attributed to factors like job-related stress, interpersonal issues, and financial burdens. Additionally, there is a strong correlation between depression and suicidal thoughts, particularly among individuals who have experienced feelings of depression. Despite the increasing prevalence of depression among young adults, research in this area is lacking. To address this gap, statistical tools such as logistic regression and chi-squared tests are employed. The analysis reveals various independent variables associated with feelings of depression, shedding light on the relationships between these factors.

  • According to Confucianism, the world before Confucius focused on respecting the heaven which meant that everything could be done by the heaven. After the period of Confucianism, Joo-Ja asserted that everything could be done by nature. During the Chosun Dynasty, philosophers such as Seo Kyung-duck, Lee Hwang, and Lee Yi talked about four characters and seven passions of human being. They started to focus more on the inside of human nature. During the later period of the Chosun Dynasty, a philosopher by the name of Dongmugong Lee Jema analyzed that one's nature and feelings can change his or her external matter and the function of internal organs by purity or impurity of one's mind. Based on these analysis, Dongmugong discovered 'sasangin' which puts more emphasis on one's state of mind compared to the outside the world. Also, Dongmugong tried to figure out the connections between Confucianism and medical science. If you use change fire and stone theory which is difference between hado and nock-seo to expain four seven theory one's mind could be define as four natural characters and seven feelings. From four seven theory four is ying and seven is yang. This is the method of cure and understand the structure of human body. And also, four natural characters and seven feelings can be divided into heaven and earth. You can see Four natural characters is far more similar to heaven and seven feelings are similar to earth. According to four-seven theory hado is permanent and you can find out 'sasangin' is permanent also. Since seven feelings are influenced by sam-jae, you can analogize there are 21 different types in 'sasangin'. An underlying principle should there be 28 different types of sasangin instead of 21 different types of sasangin but one quater of sasangin is hidden according to samhyuniljang theory. All creations in the world are organized by unification of the great absolute and symmetry distinction of yingyang. With these facts identity of the heaven, earth and man which is named samjae generates symbols of independent sasang. And also, sasang generates relations between five element, six energy and the six family relation. From six family relation comes seven feelings of man which creates a category of the eight trigrams for divination and unification of nine palace. All these process are united.
