On-Line Fault Diagnosis System using Neural Network (신경망을 이용한 실시간 고장 진단 시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose an on-line FDD(Fault Detection and Diagnosis) system based on the three layer feed-forward neural network which is trained by the back-propagation teaming algorithm. We implement the on-line fault detection and diagnosis system by Visual C++ and Visual Basic. The proposed FDD system is applied to an air handling unit in operation. Experimental results show the high performance of our system in the task of fault detection and diagnosis.

  • We have performed an EMTDC simulation for the current limiting effects of a superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL). The fault currents in the 154 kV transmission line between the arbitrary S1 and S2 substations increased up to 39 kA during the single and double line-to-ground faults, respectively. The SFCL in the transmission line is sufficient.

  • The exicting short circuit analysis calculate the current with the balance system and unbalance fault impedance. That method deal with only bus fault with the consequence that line fault study is irrational. This paper propose the line fault, shunt unbalance and series unbalance analysis method using template concept that is one of advantages for OOP(Object-Oriented Programming). This method is possible to use for calculating inductive distrubance.

  • This paper describes a fault location algorithm in real combined transmission systems with underground power cable. The algorithm to calculate the fault location was developed using DWT wavelet transform and travelling wave occurred at fault point. And the proposed algorithm is also used the transient signal of one end in stead of the signal information of two ends. On the other hand, in this papers, the method to discriminate fault point between overhead line and cable section is also Proposed. Variety simulations were carried out to verify the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm using EMTP/ATFDraw and Matlab. Simulation results show that the proposed method has the excellent ability for discrimination of fault section and fault location in combined transmission systems with power cables.

  • This paper deals with an improved fault location algorithm with compensation ground capacitance through distributed parameter for a long parallel T/L. For the purpose of fault locating algorithm non-influenced by source impedance and fault resistance, the loop method was used in the system modeling analysis. This algorithm uses a positive and negative sequence of the fault current for high accuracy of fault locating calculation. Power system model of 160km and 300km long parallel T/L was simulated using EMTP software. To evaluate of the proposed algorithm, we used the several different cases 64 sampled data per cycle. The test results show that the proposed algorithm was minimized the error factor and speed of fault location estimation.

  • A fault location algorithm using estimated local source impedance after a fault is proposed in this paper. The method uses after fault data only at the local end. It uses the negative sequence current distribution factor for more accurate estimation. The proposed algorithm can keep up with the variation of the local source impedance. Therefore, the proposed algorithm especially is valid for a transmission line interconnected to a wind farm that the equivalent source impedance changes continuously. The performance of the proposed algorithm was verified under various fault conditions using the Simpowersystem of MATLAB Simulink. The proposed algorithm is largely insensitive to the variation in fault distance and fault resistance. The test results show a very high accurate performance.

  • In this paper we propose multi-grounded neutral design method which was considered of transferred transient overvoltage when line to neutral fault occurs. Specially, In order to confirm the actual transient overvoltage magnitude which occurs on neutral line, we considered some screening(shielding) effects. The screening coefficient was deducted from field test results and calculation in a distribution line which is identical with an actual power line. The purpose of this paper is to attempt to suggest the guidance for grounding skystem design considering limitation of overvoltage for LV side in IEC 61936. The result is based on EMTP simulation and real field faults situation in distribution lines.

  • On-line monitoring of fault discharge is an important approach for indicating the condition of electrical insulation of stator winding in high voltage motor. In this paper, several key aspects of on-line monitoring system are discussed, involving the characteristics of fault discharge of stator winding in high voltage motor, spectrum analysis of four simulation fault signals, feature extraction of internal fault discharge from apply voltage to breakdown. The study of the partial discharge activities allows to highlight the ageing stage in the winding fault under test. During the life of the winding insulation fault, the shape of PD signal change relating to the ageing stage. The ageing of stator winding insulation fault of high voltage motor is investigated based on the characteristics of partial discharge pulse distribution and statistical parameters, such as maximum, skewness and kurtosis using discrete wavelet trnasform coefficients.

  • We investigated the quench characteristics of the flux-lock type superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) integrated three-phase according to fault types such as the single-line-to-ground fault, the double-line-to-ground fault and the three-line-to-ground. The structure of integrated three-phase flux-lock type SFCL consists of single core which have three-phase flux-lock reactors. The superconducting elements connected sound phase as well as fault phase happened to quenching. Therefore we conformed that the superconducting elements were dependent.
