무선 센서 네트워크에서의 감지범위 보존을 위한 백업 노드 기반 결함 허용 기법 (A Backup Node Based Fault-tolerance Scheme for Coverage Preserving in Wireless Sensor Networks)

  • 무선 센서 네트워크에서 센서 노드의 한정된 배터리 자원은 네트워크 수명에 직접적인 영향을 끼친다. 따라서 불필요한 전력 소모를 줄이기 위해, 많은 경우 최소한의 센서 노드만을 활성 모드로 유지하고 나머지는 휴면 모드로 유지한다. 그러나 이러한 경우, 예상하지 못한 결함으로 인해 센서 노드가 감지 및 전송 기능을 수행하지 못하게 되면 네트워크 서비스를 안정적으로 제공할 수가 없다. 따라서 센서노드의 결함에도 불구하고 감지수준을 일정하게 유지하는 것은 신뢰성 있는 감지환경을 제공하는 데 있어 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 센서 노드의 결함으로 인한 감지수준 저하의 문제를 효과적으로 극복하기 위해 FCP(Fault-tolerant Coverage Preserving) 기법을 제안한다. FCP 기법에서는 각 활성 노드에 대해 백업 노드 집합을 미리 선정하여, 활성 노드의 결함 시 결함 노드를 대신하도록 한다. 성능 평가 결과, FCP 기법이 기존 결함 허용 기법들에 비해 평균 87.2% 향상된 감지범위 보존 성능을 보일 뿐 아니라, 추가 백업 노드 수와 추가 제어 메시지 전송량 측면에서도 각각 평균 57.6%, 평균 99.5% 향상된 효율성을 제공함을 보였다.

  • A PC-based system for both monitoring and controlling SAUV is developed. The developed system is located on a ship and communicate with the SAUV through optical link through which the system sends motion command and receives video data, SSBL and Digital I/O data. The motion command includes velocity data and direction data. The overall system is developed with the intention of easy operation for operator and safe motion of SAUV. The easy operation is realized by GUI-based interface and the safe motion is realized by fault tolerant capability.

  • 본 논문은 루엔버거 관측기를 이용하여 직류링크 전압을 추정하고 추정치와 측정치를 비교하여 전압센서의 고장을 진단하는 방법을 제안한다. 또한 전압센서 고장 시에 추정치를 이용하여 제어함으로써 전압센서 고장 허용제어가 가능함을 보인다. 제안된 알고리즘은 시뮬레이션을 통해 그 타당성이 검증된다.

  • This paper proposes the load distribution control allocation technique. The proposed method is designed by combining a conventional control allocation method with load distribution ability in order to reduce the stress acting on ailerons. By designing the weighting matrix as a function of the load distribution rule, the optimal deflection angles of each surface to satisfy both control goal and load distribution can be achieved. Moreover, rule based fault-tolerant control technique is also proposed. The rules are generated by considering both dominant control surfaces and the ratio of load distribution among surfaces. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated through numerical simulations.

  • In this paper we address reliable output feedback control problem for a class of linear systems with actuator/sensor failures. An output feedback control method is proposed which stabilizes the plant and guarantees $H_\inftyt$-norm constraint against all admissible actuator/sensor failures. The controller can be obtainer by solving some LMls that cover all failure cases. Effectiveness of this controller is validated via a numerical example.   • Distributed Control System has been used for large scale and critical system control such as aerospace industries, chemical and power plant and so on. It is very impotant factors for design of the control system to be reliable and fault-tolerant. These control systems have backup or redundant processing modules for minimizing the time of failure and improving reliability. But such methods have changeover duration from faulty module to healthy one. During that interval, feedback control loop raises bumper and performance of the system become worse. TMR(Triple Modular Redundancy) control system is one of the best reliable ones that can overcome such a mortal drawback. This paper analyzes the components of TMR system functionally and proposes practical and cost effective configuration method for turbine control of thermal power plant.

Fault-tolerance Performance Evaluation of Fieldbus for NPCS Network of KNGR

  • In contrast with conventional fieldbus researches which are focused merely on real-time performance, this study aims to evaluate the real-time performance of the communication system including fault-tolerant mechanisms Maintaining performance in presence of recoverable faults is very important in case that the communication network is applied to a highly reliable system such as next generation Nuclear. Power. Plant (NPP). If the tie characteristics meet the requirements of the system, the faults will be recovered by fieldbus recovery mechanisms and the system will be safe. If the time characteristics can not meet the requirements, the faults in the fieldbus can propagate to the system failure. In this study, for the purpose of investigating the time characteristics of fieldbus, the recoverable faults are classified and then the formulas that represent delays including recovery mechanisms are developed. In order to validate the proposed approach, we have developed a simulation model that represents the Korea Next Generation Reactor (KNGR) NSSS Process Control System (NPCS). The results of the simulation show us the reasonable delay characteristics of the fault cases with recovery mechanisms. Using the simulation results and the system requirements, we also can calculate the failure propagation probability from fieldbus to outer system.

  • This paper presents a failure diagnosis and accommodation strategy which is capable of tolerating faulty actuators of a submersible vehicle. The proposed method is mainly based on a sliding mode control technique. The primary ideas include a performance index to describe the effectiveness of actuators, and a controller reconfiguration strategy using the actuator effectiveness index. The actuator effectiveness proposed in this work is defined as the relationship between the sliding surface and the controlled system behavior. The resulting actuator effectiveness is then used in reconfiguring the controller in order to counteract for the deteriorated control performance in the presence of a faulty actuator. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by means of numerical simulations with a submersible vehicle.

  • In this paper, a novel algorithm for adaptive majority voting using additional information is described. The novel algorithm increases the reliability of adaptive majority's history. The novel algorithm assists adaptive majority voter to select the result of the most reliable module. The performance of the proposed voter is evaluated through a series of fault injection simulations. The results are compared with those of adaptive majority voter. The empirical results show that the proposed voter has higher safety and availability levels than the adaptive majority voter
