  • This paper reinforced security under the network evaluation of wire wireless integration of NEMO (NEwork MObility) supporting mobility and network-based PMIPv6 (Proxy Mobile IPv6). It also proposes $SK-L^2AS$ (Symmetric Key-Based Local-Lighted Authentication Scheme) based on simple key which reduces code calculation and authentication delay costs. Moreover, fast handover technique was also adopted to reduce handover delay time in PMIPv6 and X-FPMIPv6 (eXtension of Fast Handover for PMIPv6) was used to support global mobility. In addition, AX-FPMIPv6 (Authentication eXtension of Fast Handover for PMIPv6) is proposed which integrated $SK-L^2AS$ and X-FPMIPv6 by applying Piggybacks method to reduce the overhead of authentication and signaling. The AX-FPMIPv6 technique suggested in this paper shows that this technique is better than the existing schemes in authentication and handover delay according to the performance analysis.

  • Since the wireless technologies based on the IP have been developed recently, a variety of mobile services has been proposed. For broadcasting services to utilize network resources efficiently, there is a need to support handover of multicast traffic in mobile networks. In this paper, we add a network function block to solve the tunnel convergence problem, and propose a new fast handover scheme to reduce handover latency for PMIPv6 networks with multicast function. With the simulation result, we show that our fast handover scheme has better performance than the draft in the IETF in the viewpoint of handover latency and multicast service disruption.

  • IETF proposed Fast Handover mechanism tn reduce the latency during which the mobile node is effectively dusconnected from the Internet. In this paper, we propose three buffering strategies and a bicasting strategy to resolve packet loss and packet disordering problems in Fast Hangover mechanism. Through Java-based simulation we show thats, packet loss and disordering problems have been resolved by our proposal. As the result the buffering and bicasting strategies can reduce the handover delay caused by packet loss and packet disordering, in addition.

  • In Mobile IPv6 handover should be followed by RO(Route Optimization) to support direct communication between a MN(Mobile Node) and CN(Correspondent Node). For this RR MIPv6 must perform RR(Return Routability) procedure before BU(Binding Update) to CN. The Fast Handover for MIPv6(FMIPv6) also performs the RR test for MN to communicate with CN directly. However, Return Routability test has long latency resulting in handover delay in MIPv6. This paper proposes the method to reduce the handover deay by reducing RO latency in FastMobile IPv6.

  • This paper proposes a new fast vertical handover mechanism to optimize and enhance the existing fast vertical handover HMIPv6(FV-HMIP) mechanism in heterogeneous wireless access networks. The proposed mechanism ad opts the IEEE 802.21 Media Independent Handover Function(MIHF), and thus is called the "MFV-HMIP". The Media Independent Handover Service (MIIS) in the IEEE 802.21 MIHF is extended by including new L3 inform ation to provide domain prefixes of heterogeneous neighbouring mobility anchor points(MAPs). This can eliminate the heterogeneous neighbouring MAP discovery phase in the existing FV-HMIP. Thus, the proposed MFV-HMIP can reduce the signalling traffic over wireless link and increase the possibility of predictive mode operation. Therefore, the proposed MFV-HMIP mechanism can be superior to the existing FV-HMIP mechanism for wireless resource efficiency, handover latency, and packet loss. Through analytic performance evaluations and computer si mulations, the proposed mechanism can be shown to optimize and enhance the existing mechanism.

  • NEMO is technique to support mobility of a network, not a node, and ensures session continuity for all the nodes in a Mobile Network. However NEMO basic support protocol causes high handover latency, thus it is incongruent real-time services such as VoIP. One of schemes to reduce handover latency is FNEMO. FNEMO that combines conventional NEMO and FMIPv6, reduces latency during the handover, thus it supports fast handover. In this paper, we compare/analyze handover of FNEMO in heterogeneous/homogeneous network, and propose schemes to reduce handover latency.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient seamless handover protocol in NEMO environment. Yokoda et al 4. proposed fast handover method with collaboration of access routers in local network and Teraoka et al. 1 showed fast handover method with collaboration of layers in mobile network. These methods can delay the time of overall binding update and increase packets loss when link of router is unstable because they transport packets through only one path or link of router. And they don't also mention redirection method of packets in their protocol in case of unstable link state of routers. The proposed protocol can execute fast binding update and reduce packets loss with collaboration of routers in mobile network.

  • It is necessary to provide a fast and secure handover for seamless real-time multimedia services based on IEEE 802.11. In this paper, we propose FMIPv6 handoff protocol integrating L2/L3 layer based on IEEE 802.11 WLAN environment. In that, we propose a hierarchical key management scheme and authentication mechanism for protecting the handover signaling messages. The number of connections with AAA server is minimized for the fast handover. It is also compared and analyzed the handover cost with previous method.

  • This paper presents a fast IP mobility management scheme in vehicular networks where multiple wireless network interfaces are used to perform the fast handover without packet loss and handover latency. In order to do that, the IETF standard HMIPv6 has been extended, where multiple simultaneous tunnels between the HMIPv6 MAP and the mobile gateway are dynamically constructed. The architecture for supporting multiple tunnels has been designed and both mathematical analysis and simulation using NS-2 have been done for performance evaluation.
