This study examined the relationships of store preference with perceived store attributes and consumers' individual characteristics and the impacts of shopping situations on actual store choice. Data were obtained from an on-site questionnaire survey to a convenience sample of young consumers. A total of 456 responses was analyzed. Based on store preference and store choice, respondents were divided into four preference(or choice) groups of: Independent fashion specialty store; Independent general fashion store; Department store and Brand-franchised store. MANOVA, ANOVA and $\chi$$^2$ analyses revealed that there were significant differences among 4 store preference groups on 3 store attribute factors(price, promotion, and merchandise & displays), fashion involvement, perceived financial risk and 5 demographic characteristics(age, gender, marital status, education and spending). Also, there were significant differences among 4 store choice groups on 3 shopping situations the respondents had experienced. Based on the results, the study provided a profile of each store preference group and marketing implications.
This study identifies the effect of customer-to-customer interactions on the preference of fashion purchase environment. An empirical study surveyed male and female consumers 25 years of age and older in Daegu, Korea, in August 2011. A total of 338 responses were analyzed using descriptive statistics and chi-square analysis of SPSS 19.0. The results identified the effects of the number, gender, age, attractiveness, and taste of other customers in fashion retail settings. In addition, differences in the effect of customer-to-customer interactions according to consumer attributes were also verified. The sample of this study preferred a shopping condition of many shoppers in the store, the same gender shoppers in the store, the same aged shoppers in the store, an attractive shopper in the store, and a shopper having the same taste in the store. Female consumers showed a preference for a store environment with many shoppers and the same gender shoppers to a store of no shoppers and different gender shoppers compared to male consumers. Aged consumers and fashion-involved consumers liked to shop with more attractive persons than less attractive persons. Fashion-innovative consumers wanted to enter a store where the other customers have similar tastes.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the correlation between fashion brand image and store space image. To investigate this study further, one of the luxury fashion brands was selected for a case study and surveys were conducted to 200 participants. This study evaluates the factors of fashion brand images that customers associate with a brand before stepping inside the flagship store. Also it analyzes the factors of store space image after the experience of the flagship store. As a result of the correlation analysis based on quantitative statistic measures, the fashion brand image and store space image coincided highest with extraordinary, young and strong characteristics. According to the space elements of the flagship store, the relationship of the brand image with the store image was investigated. As a result of analysis, customers felt the high correlation with the facade among the architectural elements of flagship store. This resulted in that customers consider that the black box of the facade represents originality of this fashion brand as a concept of spatial elements. As a practical implication, companies should understand that the architectural design is a very crucial component in designing the flagship store, as it gives customers their first impression about a brand. The brand image is required to be integrated through the exterior design of the store. The final conclusion of this study shows that the flagship store provides a space where you can experience the corporate value and brand through the space of brand experience and share an emotional image created by the brand as well.
An understanding of store patronage behavior is a critical issue for retail managers, especially when it comes to a new kind of retail store, as it enables them to identify and target potential customers. Reflecting this managerial need, this study is focused on the fashion multi-brand shop, specifically investigating its store attributes, customers' shopping orientation, and store patronage. Accepting the shifting marketing paradigm from 4P's marketing mix to 7P's marketing mix, the 7P's marketing mix is employed in this study to measure the store attributes, including people(sales oriented and customer oriented), price, place, promotion, physical environment, process, and product. The store attributes significantly influencing patronization are found as customer oriented sales people, product, physical environment, and process. The shopping orientations of the customers, 222 female adults aged from 20s to 40s are found as ostentatious, pleasant, fashion pursuant, rational, and addictive. The consumers who are ostentatious, pleasant, and fashion pursuant are highly likely to be patronize to the fashion multi-brand shops.

Data has been collected from June to August in 2005 in Pusan and Seoul on subject of 1000 adult over18 years old and 979 pieces were used to analyze. Data analysis was conducted by factor analysis, regression using the SPSS statistics package program. Services in common in 3 fashion retailing formats were "individual concerning", "kindness, courtesy/customer respect", "quick correspondence/convenience", and "product knowledge". Unique services that consumer demanded for the department store were professional and polite attitude; for the discount store, honesty and convenience for refund and exchange; for the outlet store, wide range of product selection. The results has shown that the part of salesperson's service dimensions influenced the consumer's purchase, repurchasing intention and the level of satisfaction. Therefore fashion marketers need to carefully implicate operation and service management depending on the retailing formats.
This study estimated a structural model for examining causal relationships among flagship store experiences, store emotion and loyalty, and to compare the structural models between luxury and fast fashion SPA brands. A total of 416 responses were collected from consumers who had experience with a variety of luxury and SPA flagship stores. Findings confirmed that flagship store experience consisted of four factors, such as sensory, affective, intellectual and behavioral experiences. Sensory and behavioral experiences had positive effects on store emotion that influenced loyalty. Affective and cognitive experiences influenced loyalty. All aspects of experiences explained store emotion or loyalty for luxury flagship stores; however, two of experiences (i.e., sensory and affective) were important to determine store emotion or loyalty for SPA flagship stores. The study discussed managerial implications for fashion brands to develop and manage flagship stores.
This study analyzed the influence of other customers' perception (similarity, physical attraction, and suitable behavior) of the fashion retail environment on male customers' store attitude and behavioral response. In addition, comparing the effect of store type, this study comprehensively provides the effect of other customers' perception in fashion retailing. In order to investigate research questions, an online survey was conducted and 220 responses were analyzed using AMOS 18.0. The results of this research were as follow. First, the dimensions of physical attraction and suitable behavior of other customers influenced toward target customer's fashion store attitude. Second, the effect of store attitude towards the perceiver's behavioral response was proven. Third, customers established their store attitude by other customers' physical attraction in luxury stores, while others' behavior was meaningful in SPA store. Fourth, other customer's similarity dimension did not influence the male customers' store attitude. This study contributes to a comprehensive understanding of other customer's effect in fashion stores by examining different store types. In addition, managers may establish a customer portfolio strategy and training based on this research.
This study investigated the influences of experiential marketing components on shopping flow, store satisfaction, and purchase intention in fashion complex culture stores. The mediating effects of shopping flow and store satisfaction were also explored in the relationship between experiential marketing components of fashion multi-tasking culture stores and purchase intention. An online survey was conducted with male and female shoppers between the ages of 20 and 30 in Shanghai, China who visited fashion multi-tasking culture stores. Data from 165 participants were analyzed employing SPSS 24.0 and AMOS 24.0. There were several meaningful results of this study. First, the analysis of the subdimension of experiential marketing components (Sense, Feel, Think, and Act-Relate) clearly showed a factorial construct. Second, the components of experiential marketing showed significantly positive effects on shopping flow and store satisfaction in the fashion multi-tasking culture store. Third, the shopping flow and store satisfaction played important medicating roles in the relationship between experiential marketing components (Act-Relate on shopping flow, Sense and Act-Relate on store satisfaction) and purchase intention. This study investigates the multi-dimensional structure of fashion store window creativity and examines its effects on consumer responses. Through an expert evaluation survey, this study proposes that fashion store window creativity involves originality, relevance, and artistry. Two experiments are conducted to test the proposed hypotheses. Consumers' emotional responses to the level of window creativity are collected using psychophysiological and self-report methods. Fashion store window creativity has positive effects on psychophysiological affective responses. When the three dimensions of creativity are specified as explanatory factors of emotional responses, relevance and artistry show positive effects on arousal and pleasure, whereas originality has a negative effect on pleasure. Its effect on attitudes is mediated by arousal and pleasure; in addition, the effect on entering intentions is mediated by arousal. Attitudes toward window display also have a positive effect on entering intentions. This study extends existing research on creativity in marketing into the context of visual merchandising in fashion store windows. Findings provide meaningful implications in that the effects of fashion store window creativity on emotions affect consumer attitudes and behavioral intention. By adopting multiple approaches in the empirical phase of this study, the findings are built on strong reliability and validity.
Fashion flagship store is to maximize brand's image, not for sales. As a value for consumption is changing into expression of individual styles and egos through brands' images based on their personalities rather than products, today, people are laying stress on expression of brands' personalities with spatial design of fashion flagship store to create differentiated brand images. This study was designed to examine brand personalities expressed in fashion flagship store's spatial design, and spatial components and ways of expression to influence them, and analyze how brand personality has an impact on brand loyalty. According to the results of this study, brand personality in fashion flagship store's space design of Louis Vuitton has three characteristics such as sincerity, vitality and tenacity, and display, pattern, furniture, color and wall have high influences on expression of its brand personality. Also, the higher brand personality got, the higher brand loyalty went up. These results imply that fashion flagship store's space design expressing differentiated brand personalities influences customers' brand loyalty to constantly use the brands, and thus is highly important for brand marketing of this day.
