  • In this paper, we propose a new method for the design and implementation of a web-based 3D fashion shopping mall. Web 3D shopping mall is implemented by using a Web3D authoring tool, ISB, which provides easy mouse operation. 3D human models and cloth item model are designed by low polygon modeling method of 3D MAX. The designed 3D human models and cloth item model are exported to XML file. Finally, 3D human models and cloth item model are displayed and animated on the Web by using ActiveX control based on DirectX. We also implemented textile palette and mapped it to clothes model by using alpha blending during simulation.

  • To most of the students studying fashion related major, the graduation fashion show is a big challenge. They have to put together all they learn and show what they can do to their future employers. They design, pattern work, and make up garments for the show all by themselves. Unfortunately. while they make up their garments, they usually don't Dow exactly body measurements of the models. So quite often they have to alter their art works up to the last minute of the fashion show opening. Sometimes such unadequate work process ruins their work. The purpose of this study is to suggest block patterns of Korean fashion models measurements for basic items, such as jacket and pants for male models and torso length block pattern, skirt and pants for female models. 20 male and 20 female professional models were measured. The block patterns were based on their measurements. After the first fitting test, patterns were corrected by their body characteristic. For both male and female models, it was found desirable to fix the shoulder width and make an adjustment to the patterns with a deviation of width and girth items. In case of the resultant patterns the satisfaction was made better. Model sizes proposed in this study are considered closer to the size of average models, since they were based on A-grade models who are currently working in Korea. The resultant patterns can be produced by simply making a slight adjustment to the width of the proposed pattern in this study.

  • The effects of the ratio of warp diameter to filling diameter (${\beta}$-ratio) and warp thread crash on the crimp factor and the yarn curvature were studied theoretically in this paper. The models of 2/2 twill fabric derived square cloth and sinusoidal curved cloth were used for the theoretical analysis. The crimp factors (C) for the models were given theoretically as follows; (1) Derived square cloth(general equation for b) $$C=\frac{(1+{\beta})({\theta}-sin{\theta})}{(1+{\beta})sin{\theta}+{\alpha}}$$ (2) Sihusoidal curved cloth $$C=\frac{(1+{\beta})sin{\theta}\[1+\{\frac{{\pi}(1-cos{\theta})}{4sin{\theta}}\}^2\]+{\alpha}}{(1+{\beta})sin{\theta}+{\alpha}}-1$$ The curvatures(${\kappa}$) for the models were given theoretically as follows; (1) Derived square cloth $${\kappa}=\frac{2}{d_w+d_f}$$ (2) Sinusoidal curved cloth $${\kappa}=\|{^{\;\;\prime\prime} \atop r}(s)\| \\ where \;s=\frac{p^'}{{\pi}}\(u+\frac{k^2u}{4}+\frac{k^2}{8}sin2u\)$$.

  • The aim of this study was to analyze the features of bodice patterns modeled using a dress form that represents Korean female fashion models' body features. A controlled experiment was carried out using an existing dress form that has been frequently used in South Korea. The purpose of the study was to suggest notable findings derived from understanding the development of bodice patterns for Korean female fashion models. The comparison of features of bodice patterns from the developed and existing dress forms was carried out with consideration of the upper body features of the developed dress form, such as body angles and body cross-sectional shapes. The following results were derived from the investigations. (1) The angles of the upper and lower breast cups of the developed dress form differed to those of the existing dress form, showing a 5.0cm smaller front shoulder dart and a 3.5 larger ㎝ ㎝ front waist dart within the bodice patterns. (2) The body angle features of the developed dress form included a straighter neck and shoulder blade and more concave center back than the existing dress form, with a 2.0 reduced back neck height and a 4.8 larger back waist dart for ㎝ ㎝ the bodice back panel. The more realistic body angles of the developed dress form anticipate the improvement of garment pattern-making. (3) The altered shoulder angles resulted in an increased size of the back shoulder dart and a decreased size of the front shoulder height within the bodice patterns. (4) The increased rate of curvature of cross-sectional shapes on the bust and waist circumferences of the developed dress form resulted in an increase in the sizes of the front and back waist darts.

  • As the occupational education in junior college is being searched to be connected to practical industrial settings at present, importance of field placement is now being heightened. Industrial field experience shall be developed as the work can be performed in the practical site based on the generally comprehensive contents through the applicable educational course rather than simply independent educational course. Furthermore, characteristics of the applicable major shall be reflected in the field placement to be connected to the industrial field experience so that image promotion of the major and other additional value of the major can be effectively operated. However, it is practical situation that most of the field placements are being operated separately from connection and characterization of the educational curriculum in spite of the variety of the industrial field experiences and works in the field sites. Thus, the author of the thesis would analyze practical cases of the industrial field experiences in the past and grasp the problems of them so that we can develop models of the industrial field experiences proper for characteristics of fashion related departments. Especially, through the study the author of the thesis has developed the practical educational model where the fashion majoring educational courses can be connected with the field placement in the school industry in which the practical environment is established as in the applicable industry. In addition, it is judged that Developed educational models can be realized for subsidiary companies with close relationship with the departments besides the school based enterprises.

However, there is a need for the design study in the fashion industry where a variety of operating models could be tried; more specifically case studies than engineering. This study was designed to apply to the types of voluntary projects and industrial challenges linked to the different types of virtuous circle window systems over twice in two years. Result capitalization applied to different types of derived forms associated with start-up technology transfer form. In addition, start-up will be done in conjunction with student-centered forms of the participation of Cooperation Coordinator. This was weak in the form of technology transfer interventions which were made as a result of the overall involvement of the industry. In order to elicit the active participation of the industry it is expected that this system will have an ideal company to reflux. Therefore, reflux that created assets to the students, and the reflux of product design created by students in companies professor final a virtuous cycle system operating models that can derive enhancements accept feedback to both students and companies redefining the performing models It presented. This operating model is considered to be able to provide you with a sense of accomplishment and high experiential value to both students and professors, and the industry. In this study, experiments in environmental A Study, silseupbi no support will be given to alternatives to solve them.

  • The purpose of this study was to search for the effective mass customized fashion design process based on internet shopping, so that a total of fifteen models of mass customized fashion design processes which are different in the customized degree and in the composition of design elements was proposed in this study, and to compare their efficiencies and appropriateness with those of the existing fashion design process. The data was obtained from a survey of 180 Korean females in their twenties and thirties from Nov 17th to 29th, 2002. The results of this study were summarized as follows: First, more than half of the whole respondents appeared to prefer mass customized products. Therefore, the mass customized design process was considered to be applicable to some sectors in the present domestic clothing market. Second, Respondents generally preferred the designs by mass customized design process model to those by existing fashion design process. However, satisfaction on the designs done by the mass customized design process suggesting only one choice to prosumers was lower than that of existing fashion design process. This result suggested that mass customized fashion design process enabling at least two choices should be presented to prosumers in order to increase their design satisfaction. In addition, the design process models suggesting more that three choices presented higher satisfaction than existing fashion design process.
