  • This study introduces cases of individual feeding systems for sow and the sow sorters which are the subparts of an eco-friendly feeding and management system based on a u-IT program using the hog feeding and management information system. The purpose of this study is to conduct an analysis of economic feasibility on cases of the improvement of the system using the u-IT and to provide information on the positive effects of an introduction of an eco-friendly pigsty and hog feeding and management system to hog raisers and government officials. The literature review and background section examine the effects of the introduction of u-IT technology into the field of livestock raising, hog feeding and management information system, and the eco-friendly feeding and management system based on the u-IT. This paper will present the results of the analysis on the effects and the economic feasibility of the individual feeding system for sow and the sow sorter utilizing the u-IT technology and information systems. The results of this study will contribute to the sustainable development of the hog raising industry by showing that the new feeding and management system utilizing the u-IT can not only increase the efficiency and productivity of farm management but also contribute to efficient, eco-friendly hog feeding and management.

  • This study aims to make an analysis of the innovation milieu in connection with the agricultural products and distribution system, and suggest policy alternatives for agricultural development and rural community. The decisions on the agricultural management are highly depend on the individual farm household' conditions(labor force or profits) rather than the crop units(JAKMOKBAN) or others. The partnerships of the innovation agents and trust between the individual farm households are considerably weak. From this paper, we suggest as follows to improve the regional agricultural industry and rural community development. The individual farm households need to convert market-oriented production system. And it is more important to enhance the innovation milieu than to enlarge physical infrastructure for agricultural development and rural community.

  • Purpose: This study investigated elderly women's health care at doctorless farm villages based on information-about the perception and management of their health. Method: Grounded theory method as mapped out by Strauss and Corbin-was used to record and transcribe open-ended interviews. The data from these interviews were analyzed. Result: We found 18 categories and 28 sub-categories. In data analysis, the core phenomenon was named "movement in pain". Causal condition as essential prerequisites were aging symptoms, bad state of health, comfortable life to live alone, longevity, deficiency of health care resources, and sub-categories of the phenomena revealed acceptance of discomfort, enduring pain, continuity of movability. Elderly women's health-related activities included enduring as it is, movement consciously, applying resources, difficult in using health medical institutions. Family support, economic level, disease condition, support system of community were influenced to their health-related activities. Consequently, the results indicated that they wanted to accept given life, expected easy death. held out remaining life. Conclusion: This study revealed that the most important factor of elderly women's health care was "movement in pain". On the basis of this study, we needed to develop diverse nursing implementation plans for maintaining and improving' movability without pain'.

  • Recently the program of direct payment for rural landscape conservation attracts great interests as it may help disadvantaged rural people. Recognized the effect of the program to improve the rural landscape and economy, it has been suggested that the program of direct payment for rural landscape conservation should be expanded. This paper presents the measures and status of Environmental Stewardship, the direct payment program for landscape conservation in England, as following; 1) rural development policies in UK organized under EU, 2) measures and agreements for rural landscape management, 3) the statues of ES enforcement. We sampled a pilot farm, surveyed inside and outside landscape of the farm, and interviewed local government officers and farmers in order to find policy implication.

  • It takes lots of time and labor if a worker have to measure the water quality at a certain but designated time every day in an un-automated aqua farm. In addition, if the equipment is soaked in the sea water consistently, it will be contaminated by diverse floating matters and barnacles, and it often becomes mal-functional within 2~3 months. Therefore, we need to develop a system with which the sensed data could be checked in real time and operated automatically, while preventing the contamination of the sensor, a crucial component for water quality measuring equipment, as much as possible, and increasing the replacement cycle. We have developed a non-cleaning water quality measuring equipment and its software which are used in the fishery household of offshore aqua farms. By providing the workers with a mobile application which has a function of monitoring the water quality in real time, they can check the situation directly without going to the fishery household.

  • Soil deep loosening technique can improve the soil structure and increase the air permeability and water permeability of soil. It can increase the yield of crops in a large scale, particularly the plants with deep root system. This paper introduced the study on the deep loosening technique of sugarcance in Jinpen Farm where the soil is heavy caly with high ground water table. The implement and method of deep loosing, the experiments and results are include in this paper. The experimental results showed that the yield of sugarcane increased more than 20% after deep loosing.

  • This report includes an extensive bibliography of research articles investigating various facets of rearing neonatal piglets using liquid diets, and includes historical publications dating back to the 1940's. However, in order to provide concise and timely focus for application in modem swine production, only a selected number of recent findings are reviewed in detail. Collectively, the data presented illustrate that growth of piglets fed liquid diets can greatly exceed that of littermates fed dry diets and can even exceed growth rates of sow-reared controls (by up to 160%). The central questions that remain unanswered are: 1) Can this improved performance be obtained routinely and economically under applied farm conditions? and if so, 2) Does improved growth during the early-weaning period translate into improved net economic returns overall? Unfortunately, due to the current practical management constraints related to liquid-diet feeding (i.e., lack of an easy-to-manage feed delivery system), limited data are available which examine the efficacy of liquid-diet feeding under practical, commercial farm conditions.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate quality of life in farm households. This study examines some related factors which influence the well-being of the family life among the rural housewives, such as the farm management, the leisure activity and the information. Questionnaires are distributed to the 200 housewives residing in Anseong. The 187 data obtained are analyzed by means of descriptive statistics. The results show that the role of the rural housewives is very important, because they work not only at home but also in work. The leisure of rural housewives is activated and increased in the modern society. Also the rural housewives have some information systems and use the system appropriate to cope with their problems in the environments. The current government and the business policy should be reevaluated and revised for the improvement of the rural housewives.
