The aim of this paper is to examine satisfaction of residents and preference on the outdoor space's design by multi-family housing complex scale. So we divide outdoor space into space for green land, space for physical training and play, space for walking and space for rest and landscape facilities. The major findings of this analysis are follows : Multi-family housing complex scale is the bigger, it is recognized by same ratio on specific outdoor space in housing complex that are space for green land, space for physical training and play, space for rest and landscape facilities. And space for physical training and play is found commonly into the poorest space in housing complex. Evaluation for resident's perception on outdoor space by multifamily housing complex scale shows that housing complex scale is the bigger, resident's satisfaction is the lower. That means that housing complex of large scale can't satisfy the diverse resident's demand.
The Korean Mental Health Act was amended 2016 overall. This paper examines and evaluates the old Korean Mental Health Act since 1995 and the new Korean Mental Health Promotion Act 2016 from the Perspective of Human Rights and Inclusion of Persons with Psychosocial Disabilities. The persons with mental disabilities was separated and ruled out from society by the enactment of the Mental Health Act in 1995 and five times amendment. That has been justified and institutionally supported by medical viewpoint. The medical approach which reconsider the persons with mental disabilities as patients conceal that the aims of the involuntary admission in Mental Hospital are protection of society and the relief of the family member's duty of support for person with mental disabilities. This is institutionally supported in the 1995 Korean Mental Health Act by involuntary admission through the consent of family members as protectors. According to the old Act, the family members as protectors are authorized to consent to involuntary admission of persons with mental disabilities. Also, the psychiatrist that diagnoses the person with mental disabilities and evaluates the need for treatment by admission is not impartial in this decision. Family members as protectors may want to lighten their burden of support for the person with mental disabilities in their home by admitting them into a mental hospital, and the psychiatrist in the mental hospital can be improperly influenced by demand of hospital management. Additionally, Article 24 of the Korean Mental Health Act for the Involuntary Admission by the Consent of Family Members as Protector might violate personal liberty, as guaranteed in the Korean Constitution. The Mental Health Promotion Law was amended to reduce the scope of the persons with mental illness which are subject to forced hospitalization and to demand that a second diagnosis is made by another psychiatrist and screening by the committee concerning the legitimacy of admission in the process of the involuntary admission by the consent of family members as a method of protection. The amended Mental Health Promotion Law will contribute to reducing the number of the involuntary admissions and the inclusion of persons with mental disabilities. But if persons with mental disabilities are not providing some kind of service to the community, the amended Mental Health Promotion Law does not work for Inclusion of them.
Traditionally, caring for young children and the elderly has been largely assumed and practiced intensively within the family in Korea. The Korean government established residual protection systems for the elderly as well as children whose needs could not be met by their family members alone. However, in the 21st century, a number of social forces have made it necessary to expand the state's intervention in the care provisions. The primary forces include the ageing process, low fertility, change in the women's labour market participation, changes in the family formation and dissolution, and changes in the people's perceptions of familial responsibilities regarding caring for other family members. This paper employs and further develops the idea of the care diamond conceived by the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development Project in relation to the political and social economy of care and applies it to Korea's social care expansions. The analysis demonstrates that the roles of the public and the market sector, in case of child care, increased while those of the third sector decreased. Apropos of the elderly care, the role of the market expanded dramatically, followed by that of and the state and the third sector. Nonetheless, it is important to note that the fundamental characteristics of Korea's care provision for children and the elderly have remained unchanged and even strengthened where the elderly care is concerned. The bulk of personal care demand is still met within the family, particularly by female members of the household.
In this study, we attempted to investigate the needs and problems of the terminal cancer patients and their family caregivers to provide them with nursing information to improve their quality of life and prepare for a peaceful death. Data was collected from August 1, 1995 to July 31, 1996 at the internal medicine unit of S hospital in Seoul area with the two groups of participants who were family members of terminal cancer patients seventy four of them were in-patients and 34 were out-patients who were discharged from the same hospital for home care. The research tool used in this study has been developed by selecting the questionnaires from various references, modifying them for our purpose and refining them based on the results of preliminary study. While general background information about the patients was obtained by reviewing their medical records, all other information was collected by interviewing the primary family caregivers of the patients using the questionnaire. The data collected were analyzed with the SPSS PC/sup +/ program. The results of this study are summarized as follows ; 1) Most frequently complained symptoms of the terminal cancer patients were in the order of pain(87%), weakness(86.1%), anorexia(83.3%) and fatigue (80.6%). 2) Main therapies for the terminal cancer patients were pain control (58.3%), hyperalimentation(47.2%) and antibiotics(21.3%). 3) Special medical devices that terminal cancer patients used most were oxygen device (11.1%), and feeding tube(5.6%). Other devices were used by less than 5% of the patients. 4) The mobility of 70.4% of the patients was worse than ECOG 3 level, they had to stay in bed more than 50% of a day. 5) Patients wanted their medical staffs to help relieve pain(45.4%), various physical symptoms(29.6%), and problems associated with their emotion(11.1%). 6) 16.7% of the family caregivers hoped for full recovery of the patients, refusing to admit the status of the patients. Also, 37% wished for the extension of the patient's life at least for 6 months. 7) Only 38.9% of the family members was preparing for the patient's funeral. 8) 45.4% of family caregivers prefer hospital as the place for the patient's death, 39.8% their own home, and 14.8% undetermined. 9) Caregivers of the patients were mostly close family members, i.e., spouse(62%), and sons and daughters or daughter-in-laws(21.3%). 10) 43.5% of the family caregivers were aware of hospice care. 46.8% of them learned about the hospice care from the mass media, 27.7% from health professionals, and the rest from books and other sources. 11) Caregivers were asked about the most difficult problems they encounter in home care, 41 of them pointed out the lack of health professionals they can contact, counsel and get help from in case of emergency, 17 identified the difficulty of finding appropriate transportation to hospital, and 13 stated the difficulty of admission in hospital as needed. 12) 93.6% of family caregivers demanded 24-hour hot line, 80% the visiting nurses and doctors, and 69.4% the volunteer's help. The above results indicate that terminal patients and their family caregivers demand help from qualified health professionals whenever necessary. Hospice care system led by well-trained medical and nursing staffs is one of the viable answers for such demands.
The goal of this study was to examine the effects of perceived risks toward GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) food on the decision-making to purchase it and demands to reveal its Identity. The major results were as follows. First, consumers strongly perceived the risk toward GMO food, and demanded labeling to identify it. But, many consumers had indecisive in the purchase of GMO food. Second, consumers with high level of perceived risks toward GMO food were more likely not to buy GMO food. In addition, the level of perceived risk was high among consumers who had many children. Finally, consumers with high level of perceived risks toward GMO food were more likely to demand the labelling for identifying GMO food. Consumers who had many children and high level of reliability for labelling food safety strongly demanded to label for revealing GMO food.
We conducted a survey to investigate the actual conditions of work experience, job-hunting, vocational training for unemployed women. The motivation of the study is that the conditions of unemployed women can serve as an important data in developing and utilizing womanpower. We can see that maintaining a balanced work-family life is the major obstacle against developing and utilizing womanpower, so it needs to be solved firstly. Secondly, vocational training system should satisfy the demand of business and conduct unemployed women to employment after training. Thirdly, political support is needed to make social service jobs that women of every class can participate in.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the current situation of farm labor and to propose directions to define government policies. First, present condition of family and employed agricultural workforce is analyzed. Second, characteristics in demand of agricultural workforce are analyzed in the consideration of distinctive types of each entity such as crop area. Third, currently existing agricultural workforce employment mechanism is researched and analyzed. Fourth, the policies and system related to agricultural labor market that have already been in practice are analyzed and tasks and direction in establishing those policies are proposed. This study will be helpful for policy makers to understand the agricultural labor markets and to build the institutional system for labor market services.
The purpose of the present research was to explore the effect of paternal and maternal behavior on adolescents' autonomous academic motivation. The subject of the study were 532 middle school student in grades 1-2. The results of the study were as follows: 1. Autonomous academic motivation was higher among 1st graders than 2nd graders. 2. Factors that affected adolescents' autonomous academic motivation differed depending on sex and grade. The boys' and girls' autonomous academic motivation was affected by father's academic-expectation, mother's attachment and guidance, and frequency of mother's academic-involvement, but father's academic-pressure affected only girls' autonomous academic motitation. First and 2nd graders' autonomous academic motivation was commonly affected by father's academic-expectation. However, for older adolescents, the demand for autonomy-encouragement of the mother is greater than that for direct involvement.
The deteriorated apartments make a social problem in now a days. After all a new alternative plan for deteriorated apartments such as the remodelling concept must be considered. This study aims to survey the needs levels among residents in deteriorated apartments relating to remodelling. It might provide the basic data which could be used for the analysis of consumers in the future implementation of deteriorated remodelling projects. The analytical methods applied for this study were t-test, one-way ANOVA, post-hoc estimation(Scheff test) by the SPSS 10.1 for Windows program. The analysis of the need levels for the areas of remodelling, by the family characteristic variable, residence value viewpoint, and residence satisfaction level, indicated that the demand level for ‘equipment ’was the highest, followed by the order of ‘structure’ and ‘interior’. The need levels for ‘security’, ‘parking lot’, ‘public facilities in apartment block’, and ‘landscape’ were generally low but in the group of high income, the need levels were comparatively high.
The purpose of this study was to examine the demand for leisure facilities of apartment residents in Kimgae. Data were collected through self-administered questionnaires designed for this study, and the sample consisted of 399 households. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and ANOVA analysis. Leisure facilities were divided into four specific types : sports facilities, hobby and cultured facilities, appreciation and exhibition facilities, and sociable facilities. It was found that the demands for four types of leisure facilities were high and the demands for park, swimming pool, culture center, library, cultural hall, and wamen’s hall were especially high. Family life cycle and housing size were important determinants of demands for leisure facilities.
