This study is to examine the influence of family-friendly policies on married female workers'desire for an additional child and the mediating effects of family-friendly policies and birth intention on the relationship between work- and family-life. A questionnaire survey was conducted with married female women who were under the age of 40 years and with young children, using convenience sampling. Initially, a total of 400 survey questionnaires were distributed and 326 of them were gathered and analyzed as final data. The study conducted descriptive statistics, structural equation modeling, Sobel's test, latent means analysis, and multi-group analysis to test the hypotheses. The findings are as follows. First, family-friendly policies positively impacted married women's willingness to have additional children. Second, family-friendly policies had significant positive implications on married female workers' work-life. It shows that family-friendly policies influenced married women's job satisfaction and organizational commitment, enhancing work-life satisfaction. Third, family-friendly policies were positively related with married women's family-life. It revealed that the policies had an impact on their marital satisfaction and parenting stress, improving family-life satisfaction. Fourth, married women's work-life factors, such as job satisfaction and organizational commitment, were not significantly associated with their intention of childbirth. Fifth, marital satisfaction and parenting stress were positive and significant factors affecting women's willingness to have additional children. Sixth, married women's family-life mediated the association between family policies and their childbirth intention, but their work-life did not do. Last, work- and family-life mediated the significant effect of family-friendly policies on the willingness in both groups: family-friendly policies${\rightarrow}$work-life, family-friendly policies${\rightarrow}$childbirth willingness, and family-friendly policies${\rightarrow}$family-life.
Purpose: This study was done to investigate satisfaction with life in adolescents, and to identify factors affecting satisfaction with lift for adolescents. Method: The participants were 540 adolescents. Data were collected through self-report questionnaires which were constructed to include satisfaction with life, mental health, family adaptability and cohesion, and school adjustment. The data were analyzed using the SPSS program. Results: Satisfaction with life in adolescents correlated with mental health, family adaptability and cohesion, and school adjustment. Satisfaction with lift in adolescents was significantly different according to scholastic achievement, parents being alive, economic level of family, and types of family cohesion and adaptability. Significant predictors influencing satisfaction with life in adolescents were school adjustment, family cohesion, mental health, and economic level of family, and these predictors accounted for $28.3\%$ of the variance in satisfaction with lift. Conclusion: The above findings indicate that satisfaction with life in adolescents is influenced by mental health, family function, and school adjustment. Therefore when nursing interventions are developed to improve satisfaction with life in adolescents, these factors need to be considered.
Purpose: This study was conducted to construct and test a structural model on family life satisfaction of aged individuals living at home. The conceptual model was based on Bandura's self-efficacy and social cognitive theories (1977; 1986) and Bowen's (1976) family systems theory. Methods: From January 25 to March 5, 2016, 227 older adults living at home completed a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed to calculate the direct and indirect effects of factors affecting family life satisfaction. SPSS WIN 20.0 and AMOS 20.0 were used. Results: The hypothetical model was a good fit for the data. The model fit indices were ${\chi}^2=78.05$, ${\chi}^2/df=1.35$, RMSR=.02, GFI=.98, AGFI=.96, NFI=.94, CFI=.98, and RMSEA=.05. Family life satisfaction was positively affected by perceived collective family efficacy, status of physical health, family communication, and family support. Depression resulted in a significant negative effect. Family differentiation had a significant indirect effect on family life satisfaction. The model explained 76% of variance in family life satisfaction. Conclusion: Perceived collective family efficacy, status of physical health, depression, family differentiation, family communication, and family support were significant factors explaining family life satisfaction among older adults staying at home. Further research should be conducted to seek intervention strategies to improve family life satisfaction among older adults living at home by focusing on the respective contributing factors.
The study is focused on the perception of husbands and wives family financial security and satisfaction with quality of family life. Data was collected from the husbands and wives in Seoul. Eligibility was limited to family units with husband, wife, and at least one child. 852(Husbands:432, Wives: 420) out of 1200 respondents were finally selected as datum sources. The data was analyzed by Frequency, OneWay-ANOVA, t-test, Pearson' correlation and regression analysis. The major findings are the following: 1) In regard to the perception of family income adequacy, wives' perception was higher than husbands'. On the family financial problem, husbands had more experienced the financial problem than wives. 2) Marriage education, family income, husbands and wives education , and savings effected satisfaction with quality of family life. and husbands are more satisfaction with quality of family life than wives. 3) Determined the impact of the perception of family financial security on the satisfaction with quality of family life was 41% for wives and 33% for husbands, respectively.
The purpose of this study was to identify how social relationships and family relationships were associated with the life satisfaction of married female baby boomers who live in Busan and Gyeongnam province. This study included community sample of 499 female baby boomers who were married and had at least one child. Participants reported lower levels of life satisfaction. A hierarchical regression analysis was conducted to investigate the effects of the following variables on the female baby boomers' life satisfaction: subjective health, educational level, monthly household income, employment status, perceived size of social network, participation in leisure organizations, participation in voluntary associations, satisfaction with children, and marital satisfaction. Except employment status and participation in leisure organizations, other 7 variables were significantly and positively associated with the life satisfaction of married female baby boomers. In particular, marital satisfaction had the strongest effect on life satisfaction, followed by satisfaction with children. The results suggested family played a primary role in the life of married female baby boomers. Family life education program~ female baby boomers, their children and husbands need to be developed and offered in order to improve the life satisfaction of female baby boomers.
The purposes of this study were to examine the general levels of family strength, self-determination and life satisfaction perceived by university students. Also, this study aimed to verify the mediating effect of self-determination between family strength and life satisfaction. The subjects of this study were 350 university students in Korea and surveyed by self-reported questionnaires. The data was analysed by descriptive statistics, correlation, regression analysis, and Sobel test using SPSS 20.0. The results of the analysis were as follows. First, the levels of family strength, self-determination, life satisfaction perceived by university students were found to be higher than the middle score. Second, in the process of verification for seeking mediating effect of students' self-determination between family strength and life satisfaction, step1 showed that family strength revealed significant effects on life satisfaction level(${\beta}=.62$, p<.001). And in step2, family strength affected students' self-determination significantly(${\beta}=.47$, p<.001). Step3 which used family strength(${\beta}=.33$, p<.001) and self-determination(${\beta}=.62$, p<.001) together showed that self-determination had mediating effects between family strength and life satisfaction of students. It was proved significantly by Sobel test(Z=8.83, p<.001). Therefore, in order to enhance life satisfaction of university students, integrative services and systematic intervention programs as family education are required.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of family climate of fathers' family of origin, fathers' satisfaction with marriage and life, and parenting on father-son intimacy. A total of 297 adolescents(M=15 yrs. SD=1.4) and their fathers completed questionnaires. Data were analyzed by structural equation model using AMOS 7.0. Results indicated that 1) family climate of fathers' family of origin affected further-son intimacy positively through both fathers' high marital and life satisfaction, and thereby supportive parenting behavior. 2) Family climate of the family of origin affected farther-son intimacy negatively through low marital satisfaction and thereby high psychological controlling parenting. These results evinced that family climate of father's family of origin could be the source of father-son intimacy while fathers' marital and life satisfaction and parenting behaviors mediate the relationships.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between work-family conflict and job-life satisfaction of married female workers. Two data sets were used in this study. Both data sets were gathered from structured questionnaires and time dairies. The first data set was collected from 370 married female production workers in 1995 and the second set was collected from 143 married female clerical workers in 1996. Job and life satisfaction were measured on 5-point Likert scale where 5= very unsatisfied and 5= very satisfied. The overact means for both groups were 2.97, 3.09 for job and life satisfaction respectively The findings of this study are; 1) Clerical workers have significantely higher job and life satisfaction than production workers. 2) Multivariate analysis reveal that work-family conflict is negatively related to job satisfaction while income is positively related to job satisfaction. 3) In the path analysis model, work-family conflict has a negative direct effect and indirect negative effect mediated through job satisfaction on life satisfaction. Job satisfaction and husband's division of housework have a positive direct effect on life satisfaction. However, total labor time has a negative indirect effect mediated through work-family conflict on life satisfaction and income huts a positive indirect effect mediated through job satisfaction on life satisfaction.

The outbreak of COVID-19 has significantly impacted various facets of individuals' lives, including perceptions, leisure activities, work-family balance, and overall life satisfaction. This study aims to explore the intricate relationships among changes in perceptions due to COVID-19, leisure activity satisfaction, work-family conflict, and life satisfaction of married working women. Employing path analysis, we examined a dataset of 1,973 married working women drawn from the 8th Korean Women and Families Panel Survey. The findings indicate that while changes in perception associated with COVID-19 did not directly affect leisure activity satisfaction and life satisfaction, they did significantly decrease work-family conflict, indirectly leading to heightened life satisfaction. Additionally, leisure activity satisfaction emerged as a mitigating factor for work-family conflict, contributing to enhanced life satisfaction. These results emphasize the importance of understanding the interplay between external factors, individual perceptions, and well-being, offering insights for devising tailored strategies. The study holds significance in guiding policies and interventions to enhance the quality of life for married working women in the context of evolving pandemic challenges.
This study was designed to investigate the quality of life among middle-aged men and women in Seoul. The primary purposes were to describe perceived life quality of the middle-aged and to examine the relationship among the selected variables. The data for this study were collected utilizing multistage area random sampling method 524 respondents were analyzed using SPSS PC+ statistical package. The major findings are as follows: 1. The level of life quality perceived by middle-aged was 4.7 out of 7 and relatively normally distributed. 2. The quality of life of middle-aged were differed by occupation family income amount of saving home ownership religion and residence. 3. The correlates of life quality were family life satisfaction job satisfaction financial satisfaction health satisfaction leisure satisfaction and stress. 4. Among the variables family life satisfaction was the strongest predictor variable. Thirty six percent of the total variances were explained by family life atisfaction job satisfaction stress health satisfaction and financial satisfaction.
