  • Spectrum scarcity seems to be the most challenging issue to be solved in new wireless telecommunication services. It is shown that spectrum unavailability is mainly due to spectrum inefficient utilization and inappropriate physical layer execution rather than spectrum shortage. Daily increasing demand for new wireless services with higher data rate and QoS level makes the upgrade of the physical layer modulation techniques inevitable. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) which utilizes multicarrier modulation to provide higher data rates with the capability of flexible resource allocation, although has widely been used in current wireless systems and standards, seems not to be the best candidate for cognitive radio systems. Filter Bank based Multi-Carrier (FBMC) is an evolutionary scheme with some advantages over the widely-used OFDM multicarrier technique. In this paper, we focus on the total throughput improvement of a cognitive radio network using FBMC modulation. Along with this modulation scheme, we propose a novel uplink radio resource allocation algorithm in which fairness issue is also considered. Moreover, the average throughput of the proposed FBMC based cognitive radio is compared to a conventional OFDM system in order to illustrate the efficiency of using FBMC in future cognitive radio systems. Simulation results show that in comparison with the state of the art two algorithms (namely, Shaat and Wang) our proposed algorithm achieves higher throughputs and a better fairness for cognitive radio applications.

  • We deal with a resource allocation problem for multimedia service discrimination in wireless networks. We assume that a service provider allocates network resources to users who can choose and access one of the discriminated services. To express the rational service selection of users, the utility function of users is devised to reflect both service quality and cost. Regarding the utility function of a service provider, total profit and efficiency of resource usage have been considered. The proposed service discrimination framework is composed of two game models. An outer model is a repeated Stackelberg game between a service provider and a user group, while an inner model is a service selection game among users, which is solved by adopting the Kalai-Smorodinsky bargaining solution. Through simulation experiments, we compare the proposed framework with existing resource allocation methods according to user cost sensitivity. The proposed framework performed better than existing frameworks in terms of total profit and fairness.

  • In this paper, a joint cell grouping and user association technique proposed for a semi-dynamic grouped network MIMO in a clustered heterogeneous cellular network (HCN). With the conventional macro BSs, small cells are being overlaid to increase a spectral efficiency per area and these small cells are expected to be concentrated to support exponentially increasing data traffic in hot spot areas. The main culprits of performance degradation in the clustered HCN are interference and load imbalance. The proposed scheme jointly handles them to maximize a proportional-fair metric. It is shown that the proposed technique can largely improve user average rate and proportional fairness among users than any other conventional schemes in the clustered HCN.

  • In this paper, the Game Theory based power control for OFDM system is studied, which has attained intensive interest as a core artificial intelligent technology for Cognitive Radio and its efficiency is evaluated using performance metrics such as system throughput and fairness. Utility Function for joint user centric and network centric power control is defined and simulation results show that game theory based power control is far better than closed loop power control. The contribution of this paper is to formalize the game theory based power control toward the Cognitive Radio that recognizes and adapts to the radio communication environments.

  • This paper analyzes for companies of 2011~2014 the effects of corporate social responsibility on audit efficiency. Using KEJI Index and its individual components which is published by Citizens' Coalition for Economic Justice Institute, this paper analyzes their effects on audit efficiency of audit fees and audit hours. The results of analyses are as followings. First, corporate social responsibility(CSR) composite index did not show any significant relationship between audit fees and audit hours. However, for analyses of the effects of CSR individual components on audit efficiency, variable such as CSR fairness(CSR2), CSR social contribution(CSR3), CSR environmental protection activity(CSR5) have the negative effects on the audit fees and audit time. and CSR customer protection(CSR4), CSR employee satisfaction(CSR6) have the positive effects on the audit fees and audit time. Results suggest that independent auditors may reduce audit risks associated with possible misrepresentation of financial statements for companies with high scores of CSR fairness (CSR2), CSR social contribution(CSR3), and CSR environmental protection activity(CSR5). Also, financial statement auditors may perceive surge of discretionary expenses, and set audit risk high for companies with CSR customer protection(CSR4), and CSR employee satisfaction(CSR6). Together, KEJI Index and its individual components appear to have differential effects on audit efficiency.

  • The existing buffer management scheme is caused by with burstness characteristic of the TCP traffic and with only the transmission which is not loss it provides the smallest transmission rate guarantee where the GFR demands and a fair characteristic. In order to provide a high fair characteristic from the dissertation which it sees with the smallest transmission rate guarantee where the GFR demands it proposed the existing buffer algorithm which applies a Fuzzy mechanism in the existing buffer management technique. The proposed algorithm decides a packet disuse used by three parameters which are composed of tagging information, the buffer usage, and the load of VC. Simulation results shows that the fairness and goodput of the proposed algorithm were excellent where the size of MCR will become larger, from the switch the Double-EPD or the DFBA was visible a similar efficiency even from size change of the buffer. The algorithm which is proposed provides a good throughput and a fair characteristic.

  • We analysed the opportunistic scheduling method in MMR proposed by Samsung Electronic Cooperation and confirmed the efficiency by simulation. We also investigated the relationship between the throughput and fairness under the proposed method. The main objective of this study is to propose an opportunistic packet scheduling method in MMR, which considers the QoS requirement of user. Using the simulation the performance of the proposed method is compared with those of i) pure opportunistic packet scheduling method which doesn't consider QoS requirement and ii) packet scheduling method which only consider the QoS requirement, but does not utilize opportunistic packet scheduling.

  • Social justice has been an interest of whole geographers for almost four decades. The conception of social justice includes fairness and equity in the distribution of a wide range of attributes. The purpose of this study is to understand social justice in geography of welfare. The theories of social justice are needed to describe relationship between social justice and geography of welfare. The evaluation of spatial variations in welfare is closely associated with social justice. Equality, equity, efficiency, and fairness are the reasonable criteria to apply to the evaluation of distributions of welfare, relating to distributive(or territorial) justice. However, there are complications in the spatial application of welfare evaluation criteria, including access across space, boundary crossing and ecological fallacy.

  • It is very important to correlate flight plan for safe and prompt ATC(air traffic control) operation. In this paper, we design CWP(controller working position) MRT(multi radar tracking) processing module to achieve improvement of overall ATC automation system's performance by minimizing network traffic overload when correlating MRT with flight plan. This implemented module can guarantee efficiency and safety of ATC automation system by applying distributed correlated manner, and reduce network usage by using encoded flight plan correlated MRT data format. We found that this module has 8.54~12.11% lower network usage and 8.37~11.27% higher network traffic fairness than the module using standalone manner.

  • The congestion in wireless sensor network increases the ratio of data loss and causes the delay of data. The existing congestion protocols for wireless sensor network reduces the amount of transmission by control the sampling frequency of the sensor nodes related to the congestion when the congestion has occurred and was detected. However, the control method of sampling frequency is not applicable on the situation which is sensitive to the temporal data loss. In the paper, we propose a new congestion control, ACT - Adaptive Congestion conTrol. The ACT monitors the network traffic with the queue usage and detects the congestion based on the multi level threshold of queue usage. Given network congestion, the ACT increases the efficiency of network by adaptive flow control method which adjusts the frequency of packet transmission and guarantees the fairness of packet transmission between nodes. Furthermore, ACT increases the quality of data by using the variable compression method. Through experiment, we show that ACT increases the network efficiency and guarantees the fairness to sensor nodes compared with existing method.
