  • Makeup is the most common way to improve a person's appearance. However, since makeup styles are very diverse, there are many time and cost problems for an individual to apply makeup directly to himself/herself.. Accordingly, the need for makeup automation is increasing. Makeup transfer is being studied for makeup automation. Makeup transfer is a field of applying makeup style to a face image without makeup. Makeup transfer can be divided into a traditional image processing-based method and a deep learning-based method. In particular, in deep learning-based methods, many studies based on Generative Adversarial Networks have been performed. However, both methods have disadvantages in that the resulting image is unnatural, the result of makeup conversion is not clear, and it is smeared or heavily influenced by the makeup style face image. In order to express the clear boundary of makeup and to alleviate the influence of makeup style facial images, this study divides the makeup area and calculates the loss function using HoG (Histogram of Gradient). HoG is a method of extracting image features through the size and directionality of edges present in the image. Through this, we propose a makeup transfer network that performs robust learning on edges.By comparing the image generated through the proposed model with the image generated through BeautyGAN used as the base model, it was confirmed that the performance of the model proposed in this study was superior, and the method of using facial information that can be additionally presented as a future study.

  • Just as costumes reflect the spirit of the time, hair styles echo the social changes and even facilitate them, being used as a means of communication. In short, hair styles reflect the cultural life of the time dynamically. In our modern times, fashion is moving very fast, and such a phenomenon is more conspicuous in hair styles. While individuals are eager to pursue their own individuality, hair styles play a leading role in fashion, excelling the costumes. In this sense, we need to note that hair styles may be related with individual, social and psychological factors. As people are more interested in hair colors, the scope of hair color selection becomes wider. People visit beauty shops to have their hair colors changes rather than have their hairs cut. Selection of a hair color seems to be deeply related with individuals' psychological states. Since hair colors have much effects on their facial images, hair designers need to have an empathy with their customers. Each person has his or her own unique image, and his/her selection of hair colors is affected much by external environment as well as his/her traits. With such basic assumptions in mind, this study was aimed at analyzing the preferences of hair colors by those in their 20's, 30's and 40's who are more interested in their hair colors. To this end, their preferences of or tendencies for hair colors were surveyed by sex, age group and job.

  • This study aimed to assess the satisfaction levels of adolescents with beauty programs, investigate the factors influencing them, and present foundational insights for designing cosmetics and beauty education initiatives tailored to adolescents. Specifically focusing on the "Safety and Use Education for Youth Cosmetics" program implemented in Gwangju Metropolitan City, it examined the satisfaction of participants, including students, instructors, and school teachers involved in the education. The study was based on action research, a qualitative methodology. The conclusions are as follows: First, participants gained knowledge and information encompassing various aspects of cosmetics, such as types, expiration dates and usage span, face wash and skin types, shampooing methods, scalp care, role and significance of sunscreen, skin trouble management, and identification of skin type, through cosmetic education programs. Second, participants learned about techniques such as eyebrow trimming, eyebrow shape correction, facial contour correction, skin blush supplementation, color makeup, personal color, and tattooing. Third, there is an urgent need to develop different educational teaching resources suitable for implementation across elementary, middle, and high schools. Fourth, it is necessary to cultivate higher-quality instructors in this digital age. Fifth, it is crucial to explore new methods of delivering beauty education to adolescents. We hope the insights gleaned from this study will serve as useful foundational data, albeit modest, fostering new beauty trends amidst the challenging landscape of youth education.

We examined the actual cricumstances by questionnaires, and made patch tests of methyl nicotinate, representing rubefacient, to estimate the epidermal penetratin rate, and measured the facial color change during the menstrual cycle period to invest the correlation factors between skin trouble due to cosmetics and facial color change. Fifty-two percent of subjects had skin trouble relating to cosmetics. One second of subjects with skin trouble due to cosmetic complained the change of sysptom by menstrual cycle. The changes of systptom were related on premenstrual period. The skin trouble developed mainly on the first trimester of the pregnancy. In patch test of methyl nicotinate, most cases showed decreased threshold of the reaction on minstruation, and other cases showed increased reactivity of the skin of menstruation. In facial color measurements, it proves in the appearance of red spot, darkness, increasing the value and turning the hue to yellowish, Also it demonstrates that premenstruation hue turn red and value level decrease. During the period, facial color turns pale and hue progress to yellow. This fact coincides with the questionnaire. We have quqntified through questionnaire, which demonstrates it has good correlation with done to the subjects among the internal environment factors hormonal cycle influences the facial color change and the skin trouble due to cosmetics. The research targets are 20 male and female high school students in Gwangju and Jeolla regions with acne skin of grade II and above based on the Korean Acne Grading System (KAGS). For the experiment, the subjects were classified between an experimental group with 10 subjects who used bamboo vinegar foam cleanser, skin toner, and facial pack and a control group with 10 subjects who used foam cleanser, skin toner, and facial pack without bamboo vinegar, and the subjects had to use the foam cleanser, skin toner, and facial pack for 12 weeks. In the case of skin improvement effects founded upon the objective measurement values, the experimental group showed a greater improvement for reducing the pores in the forehead, nose ridge, and left cheek (p<.001) compared to the control group, and the experiment group had higher satisfaction overall even for the skin improvement effects based on the subjective evaluation tool (p<.05, p<.001). The overall values of the satisfaction of the cosmetics showed that the experiment group had higher values (p<.01, p<.001) compared to the control group for the foam cleanser, skin toner, and facial pack, and there were statistically significant differences for usability in details (p<.01, p<.001). • The purpose of this study was to offer typical facial shapes Korean women in their 20's to 50's. We used facial photographs of 600 Korean women obtained from $2003\sim2004$ Size Korea Project and we measured these photographs indirectly in this study by utilizing the Venus face2D program. Total 62 measurements on the face were measured and analyzed by statistical methods. The results were as follows. First of all, the mean of face length was 196mm, top face length was 62.3mm, middle face length was 68.9mm, bottom face length was 66.5mm, mean of forehead width was 125.1mm. As based on those average sizes, we proposed a average facial size and shape of Korean women and a average facial size and shape of 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's in this study. When examined characteristic of 20's facial shape, it was recognized that the width of forehead was wider and the width of gnathion was smaller than other age groups. In the characteristic of 30's facial shape, the ratios of facial length, top of face, middle of face and bottom of face were balanced well, as comparing with other age groups. Overall, the values of facial measurement of 30's were similar to the averages of total women. In the facial shape of 40's, mean length and width of face each were the smallest among each age group. The eye shape of 40's was more drooped than the average eye shape and the protrusion of the zygomatic bone was significantly different. In case of the facial shape of 50's, it was similar to the facial shape of 40's, but mean lengths and widths of 50's face were slightly larger than the values of 40's. The eye shape of 50's was more drooped than average group and the eye length was the smallest among all age groups.

  • In this paper, hair beauty fashion design feature points detection system is proposed. A hair models and hair face is represented as a graph where the nodes are placed at facial feature points labeled by their Gabor features and the edges are describes their spatial relations. An innovative flexible feature matching is proposed to perform features correspondence between hair models and the input image. This matching hair model works like random diffusion process in the image space by employing the locally competitive and globally corporative mechanism. The system works nicely on the face images under complicated background. pose variations and distorted by accessories. We demonstrate the benefits of our approach by its implementation on the face identification system.
