최적화 기법을 이용한 LNG FPSO 액화 공정 장비의 다층 배치 (Multi-floor Layout for the Liquefaction Process Systems of LNG FPSO Using the Optimization Technique)

  • A layout of an LNG FPSO should be elaborately determined as compared with that of an onshore plant because many topside process systems are installed on the limited area; the deck of the LNG FPSO. Especially, the layout should be made as multi-deck, not single-deck and have a minimum area. In this study, a multi-floor layout for the liquefaction process, the dual mixed refrigerant(DMR) cycle, of LNG FPSO was determined by using the optimization technique. For this, an optimization problem for the multi-floor layout was mathematically formulated. The problem consists of 589 design variables representing the positions of topside process systems, 125 equality constraints and 2,315 inequality constraints representing limitations on the layout of them, and an objective function representing the total layout cost. To solve the problem, a hybrid optimization method that consists of the genetic algorithm(GA) and sequential quadratic programming(SQP) was used in this study. As a result, we can obtain a multi-floor layout for the liquefaction process of the LNG FPSO which satisfies all constraints related to limitations on the layout.

FPSO 소각탑의 복사열전달 및 열응력 해석에 관한 연구 (Analysis of Radiative Heat Transfer and Thermal Stress in Flaring System of FPSO)

  • 본 연구는 부유식 해양구조물(FPSO) 소각탑 구조물에 발생하는 온도 분포 및 열응력 해석 기법을 개발하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이를 위하여 소각열에 의하여 소각탑에 발생하는 온도분포를 구하는 과정을 이론화하고 온도분포 해석을 위한 과정을 제시하였다. 그리고 온도 분포가 발생시키는 열응력 해석을 위한 기본 과정을 제시하고 예를 보였다. 온도 분포 해석을 위하여 소각열에 의한 복사열전달 현상에 의한 열전달량, 설계 환경에 의한 대류 열전달량 해석 과정을 정립하였다. 정립된 과정을 근거로 온도 해석을 위한 해석 기법을 개발하였다. 또한 열응력 해석을 위한 해석 과정을 정립하고 그 과정을 근거로 열응력 해석 기법을 개발하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 부유식 해양구조물의 소각탑 열응력 해석 및 설계 과정에 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • This paper presents the results of an experimental study on the motion of an FPSO (Floating production storage and off-loading) and the characteristics of the mooring systejavascript:confirm_mark('abe', '1');m according to the turret position. Model tests of a turret-moored FPSO were carried out in the Ocean Engineering basin of KRISO. The FPSO was moored using an internal turret and catenary mooring. The models (1/60 scale) that were prepared included the FPSO, turret, and mooring lines. The experiments were conducted in irregular waves and combined environments, with waves, currents, and winds. A time-domain simulation was performed using OrcaFlex. The motion response and mooring line tension from the present calculations were compared with the results of experiments, and the agreement was fairly good. In addition, the results showed that the weathervaning stability was improved when the position of the turret was moved in the bow direction.

  • The purpose of this study was to find the optimal arrangement of FPSO equipment in a module while considering the economic value and fire risk. We estimated the economic value using the pipe connections and pump installation cost in an HP (high pressure) gas compression module. The equipment risks were also analyzed using fire scenarios based on historical data. To consider the wind effect during a fire accident, fuzzy modeling was applied to improve the accuracy of the analysis. The objective functions consisted of the economic value and fire risk, and the constraints were the equipment maintenance and weight balance of the module. We generated a Pareto-optimal front group using a multi-objective GA (genetic algorithm) and suggested an equipment arrangement method that included the opinions of the designer.

  • DME는 천연가스로부터 합성할 수 있는 대량의 미래 에너지원으로 한국가스공사는 이의 국내 공급을 위해 해외 자원 확보와 함께 해양에서 생산과 저장을 할 수 있는 FPSO의 건조를 추진하고 있다. 본 논문은 저장탱크 내부에서의 DME의 거동을 분석하여 제시함으로써 관련 기술자의 설계나 DME운영에 도움이 되고자 하였다. DME 증발량과 압력변화의 해석결과는 DME탱크 내 액체의 저장량이 증가할수록 증가하였다. 만선인 98%의 충전에서는 저장압력이 급격히 상승하게 되므로 하루 이상 장기간 저장하여야 할 경우는 만선저장을 피하는 것이 바람직하다.

  • DME는 천연가스로부터 합성할 수 있는 대량의 에너지원이 된다. 한국가스공사는 DME 상업규모의 생산플랜트를 개발하고 이의 국내 공급을 위해 해외 자원 확보를 추진하고 있다. 본 논문은 응력과 변형 해석을 통하여 DME저장탱크의 설계기준을 제공하였고, DME FPSO저장탱크의 증발현상을 파악하기 위하의 증발을 발생시키는 원인인 열유입과 선박의 유동에 따른 증발량 실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과, 롤링의 각도가 커지고 액체 충전량이 많을수록 증발량이 증가하였다. 롤링각도가 15도 일 때의 증발량은 정지상태의 열유입 만에 의한 증발량 보다 약 20%가 증가하였다.

FPSO의 선행의장률 향상을 위한 생산관리 및 공법개선 사례연구 (Process Improvements for Elevating Pre-outfitting Rate of FPSO)

  • Generally, functional design of FPSO has been done by the engineering firm designated by ship owner. Main equipment such as topside facility is imported from abroad. But sometimes, OFE (Owner Furnished Equipment) does not satisfy the PND (Product Need Date) of each production stage because the delivery date of OFE is not scheduled to satisfy the PND. And sometimes many loose items and equipment are complex from engineering which does not consider pre-outfitting. Main objective of this study is process improvements by maximizing pre-outfitting rate in the stage of equipping STP (Submerged Turret Production), one of main equipment on FPSO. In this study, we analyzed the factors which obstructed pre-equipping STP using the past records of FPSO projects.

A Motion Analysis of FPSO in Irregular Waves including Swells

  • Recently moored offshore vessels like as FPSO(Floating Production Storage Offloading) are frequently deployed in seas for a long time. For successful operation, the motion behavior of such a vessel in waves must be clarified in advance either theoretically or experimentally. It is of particular interest to examine the behavior, when swells are superposed to seas with different incident angle. Such a situation is actually reported in some offshore oilfield. In this paper, the motion of a FPSO in irregular waves including swells is studied in time domain. Hydrodynamic coefficients and wave forces are calculated in frequency domain using three-dimensional singularity distribution method. Time memory function and added mass at infinite frequency are derived by Fourier transform utilizing hydrodynamic damping coefficients. In the process, the numerical accuracy of added mass at infinite frequency is carefully examined in association with free decay simulations. It is found from numerical simulations that swells significantly affect the vertical motion of FPSO mainly because of their longer period compared to the ordinary sea waves. In particular, the roll motion is largely amplified because the dominant period of swell is closer to the roll natural period than that of seas.

바아지형 FPSO의 횡운동 성능에 대한 연구 (An Analysis of Rolling Performance for a Barge-Type FPSO)

  • To predict rolling performance for a barge-type FPSO, the evaluation of correct nonlinear roll damping is critical. The squall section of FPSO causes a fair amount of viscous damping effect. Free roll decoy tests were conducted to estimate nonlinear roll damping for a barge-typ FPSO of three different loading conditions. The roll motion RAO was deduced by model tests in the wave condition of wideband spectrum. In numerical calculation, the quadratic damping was considered as equivalent linear damping using the results of free roll decay test. Tested roll performance in JONSWAP wave spectrum was compared with numerical results. These two results show good agreement, in spite of proximity in peak wave period and roll natural period.
