분지관 혼합기의 난류혼합에 대한 유동가시화 연구(III) (Flow Visualization Study on the Turbulent Mixing of Two Fluid Streams (III))

  • A flow visualization study was carried out for the branch pipe mixing flow in which a jet was issued normally to the fully developed pipe flow. An instantaneous laser tomographic method was used for cross flow Reynolds numbers based on the cross flow diameter D ranged $Re_{cf}=5.26{\times}10^3{\sim}1.13{\times}10^4$, diameter ratios d/D = 0.1 ~ 0.2 and velocity ratios R = 0.5 ~ 10. Oil mist with the size of about $10{\mu}m$ diameter was used for the scattering particle. The main purpose of this study was to reveal the physical mechanism and the structure of vortices formation with varying the velocity ratios and diameter ratios in the branch pipe flow. It was found that the physical mechanism and the structures of vortices formation were quite different depending on the velocity ratios. Particularly in the case of R < 1, the typical vortex shows single loop shape and that for the case of R > 1 depicts mushroom-like structure in the cross flow jet.

  • 본 연구에서는 드릴비트 내부 유로의 최적설계를 위하여 암분유동해석을 수행하였다. 이를 위해 암분과 기체의 다상유동해석이 가능한 전산유체역학 코드인 Star-CCM+을 사용하였다. 실제 천공시험으로부터 획득한 결과값을 기체 및 암분의 해석조건으로 적용하였다. 내부 유로 설계에 관련된 핵심인자를 3가지로 결정한 후, 다구찌 기법을 활용한 실험계획법으로부터 3가지 설계인자에 대한 최적값을 조사하였다.

Effect of chain structure of polypropylenes on the melt flow behavior

  • Rheological Properties of polypropylenes having different molecular structures (linear polypropylene (PPL) and branched one (PPB)) were studied. Both the extensional flow and oscillatory shear flow properties were checked. Especially, the melt strength of polypropylenes having various shear history were investigated by using in-house-made Rheometer (called SMER). Compared to linear polypropylene, the branched polypropylene shows enhanced melt strength during extensional flow due to the retarded relaxation of molecules. When the slope of melt tension was plotted against take up speed of melt strand, the characteristic peak was observed in case of branched polypropylene, while the linear polypropylene shows only monotonously decreasing pattern. This entanglement was partially disrupted by physical forces such as shear during melt extrusion. However, the melt strength of PPB after multiple extrusion is still higher than PPL, implying the loss of elasticity during multiple extrusion is not so comprehensive. On dynamic experiments, PPB shows typical shear thinning behavior and the tangent delta of PPB is lower than PPL, reflecting high elasticity of PPB.

  • 본 연구에서는 그물어구의 모형수칙에 관한 기존의 연구 결과들을 종합하고, 지금까지 가장 많이 이용되어 온 Tauti의 수칙을 중심으로 하여 이들 수칙이 지니는 간제점에 대해 주로 검토하였다 그 결과, 지금까지의 수칙들은 그물의 유수저항을 정확하게 해석하지 못하였고 그것의 수중 형상을 결정하는 중요 인자로써 그물감의 수중 무게를 택한 것에 문제가 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서, 이러한 견해 대신에 그물을 그것의 영역권 내로 물을 유입한 후 영역권 밖으로 투과시키는 하나의 유공성 구조물로 간주하고, 그것에 대한 물의 유입${\cdot}$유출 특성을 이용하여 유수저항을 해석한 전보의 결과를 기초로 하여 실물과 모형과의 상사 관계를 새로히 구하였다. 즉, 그물의 각 변의 길이를 L, 그물실의 지름을 d, 그물코의 크기 및 전개각을 각각 2l 및 2$\varphi$, 뼈대줄의 지름과 길이 및 비중을 각각 $d_r,\;l_r$$\rho_r$, 뜸, 발돌 등의 부속구 하나의 수중 무게 및 갯수를 각각 $w_a$ 및 Na, 물의 비중을 $\rho_w$, 유속을 $\nu$, 그물의 유수저항을 R이라 할 때, 실물 (첨자 1)과 모형 (첨자 2)이 상사를 이루기 위해서는 $$\frac{d_2}{d_1}=\sqrt{\frac{l_2}{l_1}},\;\frac{N_2}{N_1}=(\frac{d_1}{d_2})^{1.5}\frac{L_2}{L_1},$$ $$\;\varphi_1=\varphi_2,\;\frac{d_{r2}}{d_{r1}}=\sqrt{\frac{L_2{(\rho_{r1}-\rho_{w1})}}{{L_1{(\rho_{r2}-\rho_{w2})}}$$ $$\frac{N_{a2}}{N_{a1}}=\frac{W_{a1}}{W_{a2}}(\frac{L_2}{L_1})^2$$, $$\nu_1=\nu_2$$$$\frac{R_2}{R_1}=(\frac{L_2}{L_1})^2$$ 을 만족해야 하고, 조작 유속이 매우 작은 값으로 한정되는 그물에 있어서 구성 재료의 변화에 따른 수중 형상의 변화를 조사할 때와 같이 그물감의 수중 무게의 영향 자체를 조사 대상으로 하는 경우에는 위의 조건들 외에 $$\frac{\rho_2-\rho_{w2}}{\rho_1-\rho_{w1}}=\frac{d_1}{d_2}$$를 추가로 만족해야 한다는 젓을 알 수 있었다.

EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON TURBULENT SWIRLING FLOW IN A CYLINDRICAL ANNULI BY USING THE PIV TECHNIQUE

  • An experimental investigation was conducted to study the characteristics of turbulent swirling flow in an axisymmetric annuli. The swirl angle measurements were performed using a flow visualization technique using smoke and dye liquid for Re=60,000-80,000. Using the two-dimensional Particle Image Velocimetry method, this study found the time-mean velocity distribution and turbulence intensity in water with swirl for Re=20,000, 30,000, and 40,000 along longitudinal sections. There were neutral points for equal axial velocity at y/(R-r)=0.7-0.75, and the highest axial velocity was recorded near y/(R-r)=0.9. Negative axial velocity was observed near the convex tube along X/(D-d)=3.0-18.0 for Re=20,000.

RecurDyn을 활용한 가속도추종 유로개방장치 해석 (Analysis of a Flow Passage Opening Device using RecurDyn)

  • 항공기 또는 유도무기와 같은 고속 비행체의 가압식 연료탱크에는 연료가 한 방향으로 몰려 이송이 단절되는 것을 방지하기 위해 특별한 유로개방장치가 필요하다. 이러한 필요에 의해 가속도추종 방식의 유로개방장치가 발명되었으며 본 논문에서는 이 장치의 구동성능을 예측하고 성능에 영향을 미치는 주요 파라미터의 선정을 위해 동역학 해석 프로그램인 RecurDyn을 이용해 해석을 수행하였다. 해석결과를 통해 장치의 내부 균형추가 연료의 쏠림을 잘 추종해 유로를 개방시키는 것을 확인하였다.

천연가스 배관 곡관부에서의 피그 동적 거동 해석 (Analysis of PIG Dynamics through Curved Section in Natural Gas Pipeline)

  • This paper presents simple models for flow and the PIG dynamics when it passes through a $90^{\circ}$ curved section of pipeline. The simulation has been done with two different operational boundary conditions. The solution fur non-linear hyperbolic partial equations for flow is given by using MOC. The Runge-Kuta method is used to solve the initial condition equation fur flow and the PIG dynamics equation. The simulation results show that the proposed model and solution can be used fur estimating the PIG dynamics when the pig runs in the pipeline including curved section. In this paper, dynamic modeling and its analysis for the PIG flow through $90^{\circ}$ curved pipe with compressible and unsteady flow are studied. The PIG dynamics model is derived by using Lagrange equation under assumption that it passes through 3 different sections in the curved pipeline such that it moves into, inside and out of the curved section. The downstream and up stream flow dynamics including the curved sections are solved using MOC. The effectiveness of the derived mathematical models is estimated by simulation results fur a low pressure natural gas pipeline including downward and upward curved sections. The simulation results show that the proposed model and solution can be used for estimating the PIG dynamics when we pig the pipeline including curved section.

  • 대부분의 가연성가스의 누출 및 화재/폭발 등의 실험은 큰 위험성이 있으며 실험을 진행할 수 있는 부지 선정에 큰 어려움이 있어 가급적 전산유동해석(CFD) 등의 간접적 방법을 많이 활용하였다. 그러나 2016년 10일 강원도 영월군에 에너지안전실증연구센터가 개소함에 따라 대규모/고압/초저온 등의 실험 뿐아니라 소규모 가연성 가스의 누출 및 검지 실험이 가능하게 되어 본 실험을 계획하였다. 본 실험에서는 가스센서를 교정하고 가스가 누출될 공간에 배치 후 LP가스를 누출시켜 가스센서에 검지된 값을 Contour map으로 가시화하였다. 또한 동일 조건으로 해석한 전산유동해석 결과값과 비교하여 LEL 25% 값의 실제 누출(28s, 최대 3.7m)의 차이점에 대해 분석하였다.

Comparisons of 2-D and 3-D IVR experiments for oxide layer in the three-layer configuration

  • We performed 3-D (3-dimensional) IVR (In-Vessel Retention) natural convection experiments simulating the oxide layer in the three-layer configuration, varying the aspect ratio (H/R). Mass transfer experiment was conducted based on the analogy to achieve high RaH's of 1.99 × 1012-6.90 × 1013 with compact facilities. Comparisons with 2-D (2-dimensional) experiments revealed different local heat transfer characteristics on upper and lower boundaries of the oxide layer depending on the H/R. For the 3-D shallow oxide layer, the multi-cell flow patterns appeared and the number of cells was considerably increased with the H/R decreases, which differs with the 2-D experiments that the number of cells was independent on H/R. Thus, the enhancement of the downward heat transfer and the mitigation of the focusing effect were more noticeable in the 3-D experiments.

2.5 kW 급 프로펠러형 마이크로 수차 개발 (Development of 2.5 kW Class Propeller Type Micro Hydraulic Turbine)

  • In this work, a preliminary design of an inlet guide vane and runner for developing a 2.5 kW hydraulic turbine was conducted by using computational fluid dynamic analysis. Three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with shear stress transport turbulence model were used to analyze the fluid flow in the hydraulic turbine. The hexahedral grid system was used to construct computational domain, and the grid dependency test was performed to obtain the optimal grid system. Velocity triangle diagram considering the flow angles of the inlet guide vane and runner was analyzed to obtain a basic geometry of the inlet guide vane and runner. Through modification of the preliminary design, the hydraulic performances of the turbine have improved under overall drop conditions. Especially, the efficiency and power of the turbine increased by 0.95% and 1.45%, respectively, compared to those of the reference model.
