Study on Performance Enhancement for a Cyclic Code Shift Keying Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum/Time Division Multiple Access System (순환천이변조 주파수도약대역확산/시분할다중접속 시스템의 성능 개선에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we propose to employ a ternary sequence as a cyclic code shift keying (CCSK) modulation sequence. And we simulate the performance in a frequency hopping spread spectrum/time division multiple access (FHSS/TDMA) system with CCSK. Wireless channel is modeled as Rayleigh fading channel. From the simulation results, it is demonstrated that the system adopting the ternary sequence as a CCSK sequence has higher performance than that with a random sequence.

  • In this paper, a blind hop timing and duration estimation scheme for FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) systems based on digital frequency discriminator and wavelet transform is proposed. The proposed scheme not only requires the lower hardware complexity but also shows superior estimation performance compared to the previously proposed temporal correlation function based hop timing estimation scheme.

  • This paper presents seamless hand off implementation suggesting algorithm and Measuring /testing at the tunnel environment in order to derive the ideal value of wireless data transmission in RF-CBTC train control system modeled by Shinbundang Operation System. In addition, it proposes the ideal value(-57dB) for reducing the re-transmission or frequency interference rate and demonstrates frequency optimization which enables highly reliable data communication in Train control system using wireless communications. Based on these result, Shinbundang phase 2 plan to apply to this system.

An Analysis on BER Performance of Satellite Communication System Classified by SFH-Modulation Method under Jamming (Jamming 환경에서 SFH 변조 방식에 따른 위성 통신 시스템의 BER 성능 분석)

  • The FHSS(Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum), in which a transmitter changes its carrier frequency according to a certain hopping pattern, is widely used in the military communication system, since it is highly resistant to deliberate Jamming. However, the difference of BER performance of satellite communication system which using the different modulation scheme and Jamming model was not studied. Thus, in this paper, we consider PBNJ(Partial-Band Noise Jamming) and WPBJ(Worst case Partial-Band noise Jamming) as Jamming models, and evaluate BER(Bit Error Rate) performances of NC-MFSK(Non-Coherent M-ary Frequency-Shift Keying), SDPSK(Symmetric Differential Phase-Shift Keying), and GMSK(Gaussian filtered Minimum-Shift Keying) modulation schemes. Based on the results, we suggest the best transmission method for each condition.

  • Although FHSS has many advantages over conventional digital radio communication system, field application has been so far hampered due to its complicated synchronization. In this paper, a new FHSS system is proposed which one FH signal modulated with GMSK and one chip delayed FH signal than former are sent from transmitter, and this is recovered by matching process at a heterodyne correlator in receiver; thus eliminates synchronization as a whole. Through analysis and experiment, we assure that there is possibility in this. The exper- imental result from 915~929 MHz bandwidth with 31 chips is investigated in the environment of AWGN.

  • 이 논문에서는 충격성 잡음과 비선택적 다중경로 페이딩 특성이 있는 매체에서 주파수 도약대역 확산 통신 계통의 성능을 살펴보았다. 충격성 잡음을 나타내는 데에는 ε 혼합모델을 썼고, 통신 매체와 계통의 여러 가지 매개 변수를 바꾸어 가며 이 통신 계통의 오류확률을 수치 계산 방식으로 얻었다.

Adaptive Synchronization Method of Frequency Hopping Communications (주파수도약 통신의 적응동기 방법)

  • In frequency hopping spread spectrum(FHSS) communication systems, exact frequency synchronization is required due to the random hopping of carrier frequencies between transmitter and receiver even under harsh channel conditions. For synchronization of FHSS communications, multi-frequency hopping synchronization(MFHS) method has been used in which a small set of frequencies are repeatedly sent several times for long duration. But this long duration resulted in being easily detected by the unauthorized users as well as long duration of acquisition time. In this paper, motivated by these problems, an adaptive synchronization method(ASM) is proposed. ASM is technics to reduce the synchronization time where the number of synchronization frequencies and repetition numbers is adaptively changed (increased or decreased) according to the channel conditions. The performance analysis showed that the time duration of synchronization was reduced to 0.2sec, and the influence of jamming or interference was decreased to 46% in ASM.

  • In this paper, we propose a digital transceiver that can overcome the problems which current analog transceivers have. For the proposed transceiver, we assumed a frequency resource that consists of discrete and narrow channels. We also assumed that person-to-group, group-to-group, as well as person-to-person, voice and data communications with moderate security should be devisedand the data rate is 1 Mbps with simultaneous voice and data. Frequency hewing spread spectrum (FH-SS) and differential 8-PSK (D8PSK) were adopted for security reasons and bandwidth constraints, and for the reduction of implementation complexity, respectively. For the carrier and the symbol timing recovery, the structure of the preamble was proposed based on the IEEE 802.11 FHSS frame format to improve detection probability. The computer simulation results and power budget analysis implies that the proposed system can be usedin simple wireless communications in place of such as analog walkie-talkies.
