  • In this paper, we have used the 900Mha RF band and produced the transmitter-receivers to measure the distance of moving range of a crane. We selected the analog signal of 450Khz middle frequency band of the RF Baseset module, and the property data of phase response is analysed to estimate the range distance. We have earned the good results from the experiment.

  • 본 논문에서는 MPEG-2 BC와 AAC의 복호화 과정 중 함성 필터링 과정의 알고리듬을 분석하여 공동된 구조로 연산을 수행한 수 있는 광용 합성 필터 구조에 대하여 논하였다. 제안된 공용 합성 필터 구조는 Regressive 구조를 이용하여 MPEG-2 BC와 AAC의 복호화를 효과적으로 공용 수행하도록 하였다. 제안한 구조는 FFT를 사용할 경우에 필요한 전처리 및 후처리 과정을 고려해주지 않아도 되고 복소수 연산이 아닌 실수연산이 되어 하드웨어 구조가 단순하게 된다. 또한 MPEG-2 AAC의 다양한 윈도우 변환에도 안정적으로 연산되는 구조임을 확인하였다.

  • 다수의 신호를 동시에 사용하는 경우에 나타나는 광대역 신호나 센서의 수와 형성하고자 하는 빔의 수가 많은 경우를 다루기 위해서는 주파수 영역 기법이 필요하다. FFT를 사용하는 낮은 샘플링 주파수에서도 시간 영역에서의 보간 방법보다 빠르게 정확한 시간 지연을 줄 수 있어 코히어런트 신호처리가 가능하다. 또한 특정 센서가 불량인 경우 보정이 상대적으로 용이하다는 장점을 가진다. 여러 가지 주파수 영역 빔형성 기법 중 계산량과 저장 용량면으로 효율적인 방법은 CZT와 FIR interpolation 방법이다. 또한, 공액 빔을 형성할 경우에는 Goertzel의 알고리듬을 이용하는 방법도 효율적이다.

  • In this paper, we improve a time-domain channel estimation algorithm with multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems for the next-generation digital television (DTV). The conventional algorithm use orthogonal codes for separating channels from the time-domain orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols. However. it has the disadvantage of reduced data-rate because of many pilots. The improved algorithm shows better performance than the conventional one even with reduced number of pilots. The improved algorithm is evaluated by computer simulations.

Fast Image Restoration Using Boundary Artifacts Reduction method (경계왜곡 제거방법을 이용한 고속 영상복원)

  • Fast Fourier transform(FFT) is powerful, fast computation framework for convolution in many image restoration application. However, an actually observed image acquired with finite aperture of the acquisition device from the infinite background and it lost data outside the cropped region. Because of these the boundary artifacts are produced. This paper reviewed and summarized the up to date the techniques that have been applied to reduce of the boundary artifacts. Moreover, we propose a new block-based fast image restoration using combined extrapolation and edge-tapering without boundary artifacts with reduced computational loads. We apply edgetapering to the inner blocks because they contain outside information of boundary. And outer blocks use half-convolution extrapolation. For this process it is possible that fast image restoration without boundary artifacts.

  • In this paper, we propose a frequency-domain tone interference cancellation algorithm for direct-sequence spread spectrum systems. In the previously proposed frequency-domain interference cancellation algorithms, the interference signal is estimated and compensated in the frequency-domain and then, with IFFT (inverse Fourier transform), the compensated frequency-domain signal is transformed to the time domain signal for the remaining receiver operations. Unlike the previous works, the proposed algorithm does not requires IFFT and thus, the proposed algorithm not only shows the virtually identical performance but also requires lower hardware complexity compared to the previous works.

Watermarking Algorithm for Copyright Protection of Haegeum Sound Contents (해금 사운드 콘텐츠의 저작권 보호를 위한 워터마킹 알고리듬)

  • This paper proposes a watermarking algorithm considering the frequency characteristics of Haegeum sounds for copyright protection of digital Haegeum sound contents. The harmonics of Haegeum sounds commonly have large magnitude values in 1500Hz~2000Hz and 2800Hz~3500Hz so that those bands are selected to embed a watermark. The proposed method computes the FFT (fast Fourier transform) of the original sound signal and embeds the watermark bits generated by PN (pseudo noise) sequence into the harmonics in the selected bands. Furthermore, the proposed method is robust to lowpass filter, bandpass filter, cropping, noise addition, MP3 compression attacks and the maximum BER (bit error rate) is 1.41% after lowpass filter attack. To measure the quality of the watermarked sound, subjective listening test, MUSHRA (multiple stimuli with hidden reference and anchor), was conducted. The mean value of MUSHRA listening test is bigger than 98 and 96.67 for every Haegeum sounds and Korean classical music with Haeguem, respectively.

A Real Time Heartbeat Rate Estimation Algorithm Using PPG Signals (광용적맥파를 이용한 실시간 맥박 검출 알고리듬)

  • The photoplethysmogram (PPG) signal is one of the mainly considered bio signals along with the electrocardiogram (ECG) signal. PPG signals can be used to estimate the speed of flow of blood in vein, saturation of peripheral oxygen and etc. The heartbeat rate is a common feature in order to evaluate those checkup lists. To estimate the correct heartbeat rate, dynamic noises must be removed in the PPG signal. Conventionally, the acceleration signal is used to remove dynamic noises. This method, however, increases the computational complexity. In this paper, we proposes a solution that uses only PPG signals to calculate the heartbeat rate, and which can be used as a basement in real-time healthcare solution.

  • A Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV) algorithm is developed to analyze whole flow field both qualitatively and quantitatively. The practical use of PIV requires the use of fast, reliable, computer-based methods for tracking numerous particles suspended in a flow field. The TSS, NTSS, FFT-Hybrid, which are developed in the area of image compression and coding, are introduced to develop fast vector search algorithm. The numerical solution of the lid-driven cavity flow by the ADI algorithm with the Wachspress Formula is introduced to produce synthetic data for the validation of the tracking algorithms. The algorithms are applied to image data of real flow experiments. The comparisons in CPU time and mean error show, with a small loss of accuracy, CPU time for tracking is reduced considerably.

Pattern Noise Prediction for Passenger Car Tire (승용차용 타이어 패턴에 따른 소음 예측 기법)

  • 자동차에서 발생되는 소음은 여러 가지 발생원으로부터의 복합적인 것으로서 차량의 속도가 고속화하면서 타이어 소음의 기여도가 매우 커지는 것으로 알려져 있다. 타이어 소음은 근본적으로 노면과 타이어의 상호작용에 의하여 발생되는 데 타이어/노면의 상호작용에 영향을 미치는 인자로는 마모상태, 차량속도, 하중, 공기압, carcass 구조, 타이어 온도등 여러 가지가 있으나 tread 모양과 노면의 상태에 가장 크게 영향을 받는다. 본 연구에서는 승용차용 155SR13 radial 타이어를 대상으로 하여 실내에 설치된 dynamometer를 이용하여 groove 의 개수, groove 길이, groove 폭, groove 깊이, groove 방향 등 트레드 패턴 인자가 발생소음에 미치는 기여도를 실험적으로 측정하고 트레드 패턴형상에 따른 소음도를 예측할 수 있는 실험식을 구했다. 또한 단일 groove 내에서 발생되는 소음의 시간신호를 측정하여 모델화하고 차량속도와 groove 사이의 간격에 따른 시간신호를 합성하고 이 신호로부터 FFT 알고리듬을 통해 소음 spectrum을 구하는 소음 예측 프로그램을 개발하였다. 비교적 단순한 tread 패턴에 대해 이를 적용한 결과 실험적으로 구한 spectrum과 상당히 유사함을 볼 수 있었다.
