셀룰라이트 치료 시 식이 보조제의 임상적 활용을 위한 문헌적 고찰 (Literature Review for the Clinical Application of Dietary Supplements in Cellulite Treatment)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficacy and the mechanisms of dietary supplements in cellulite treatment, and then to provide the theoretical and clinical basis for the cellulite treatment in Korean Medicine. Methods: We searched for articles from Korea, China, and English electronic database (Koreanstudies Information Service System [KISS], National Digital Science Library [NDSL], KMbase, Research Information Sharing Service [RISS], Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System [OASIS], National Assembly Library, Korean Traditional Knowledge Portal, Google scholar, PubMed, Scopus, China National Knowledge Infrastructure [CNKI]) until April 2018. We chose clinical trial studies by inclusion criteria through titles, abstracts and articles. Results: A total of 10 studies were selected through search. The experimental group had shown more effective cellulite improvement in 90% of studies. Also, improvement of symptoms related with cellulite like pain, edema, heaviness and increase of skin surface temperature were observed in experimental group. In addition, the density of connective tissues of the dermal layer was increased in experimental group. Conclusions: The use of dietary supplements in cellulite treatment is thought to be effective through mechanisms that antioxidant efficacy, microcirculation improvement, interstitial matrix improvement, diuretic effect, and skin metabolic activity effect.

Effects of corrective exercises on selective functional movement assessment and health risk appraisal in middle-aged women

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to find the limited patterns of middle-aged women in selective functional movement evaluation and analyze the effects of pattern improvement exercises and general control groups on the Health Risk Appraisal (HRA). Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: The 31 subjects were physically healthy middle-aged women aged 40-59 living in Seoul, The subjects were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group. Forty-three physically healthy women were originally recruited and randomly assigned to either the experimental group (n=22) or the control group (n=21). However, due to lack of participation, a total of seventeen subjects in the exercise group and fourteen subjects in the control group participated in the study. All subjects were tested using Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and HRA for the baseline measurement and joined an exercise program of their group for one hour per session, twice a week for four weeks. The experimental group was provided with the corrective exercises and the control group was given the general fitness program. A follow-up test was conducted after eight weeks from the baseline measurement. Results: Both experimental and control group showed significant changes in SFMA and HRA scores (p<0.05). In the experimental group and control groups, the SFMA and HRA showed significant improvement from baseline to 4 weeks (p<0.05). Also, in the experimental group, the SFMA was significantly improved from baseline to 8 weeks (p<0.05). For the experimental group, there was a significant improvement in SFMA after 4 weeks compared to the control group (p<0.05). Conclusions: The corrective exercise in the experimental group had a positive effect on the SFMA score as well as the general squat exercise in the control group. The corrective exercise and general control group had the same positive effect on the HRA score.

연료전지 냉각용 헬리컬 인서트디바이스 이중관열교환기의 열전달 성능 향상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Efficiency of Heat Transfer of Double Pipe Heat Exchanger with Helical Insert Device on Cooling of a Fuel Cell)

  • The present study was conducted on the improvement of the heat transfer performance of double pipe heat exchangers with helical insert device. Double pipe heat exchangers with helical insert device were studied for improvement of the heat transfer performance of double pipe heat exchangers with helical insert device and plain double pipe heat exchangers were also studied to comparatively analyze heat transfer performance. Experimental results were derived on changes in the Reynold's numbers of the cooling water flowing in helical and plain double pipe heat exchangers and changes in the heat flux of the air. Thereafter, to verify the reliability of the experimental results, the theoretical total energy and the experimental total energy were comparatively analyzed and the following results were derived. The thermal energy of the calorie lost by the hot air and that of the calorie obtained by the cooling water were well balanced. The experiments of plain double pipe heat exchangers and double pipe heat exchangers with helical insert device were conducted under normal conditions and the theoretical overall heat transfer coefficient value and the experimental overall heat transfer coefficient value coincided well with each other. In both plain double pipe heat exchangers and double pipe heat exchangers with helical insert device, heat transfer rates increased as the cooling water flow velocity increased. Under the same experimental conditions, the heat transfer performance of double pipe heat exchangers with helical insert device was shown to be higher by approximately 1.5 times than that of plain double pipe heat exchangers.

키네시오 테이핑이 퇴행성관절염 환자의 통증 및 기능회복에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Kinesio Taping on the Pain and Functional Improvement in Patients With Degenerative Arthritis)

  • 이번 연구는 퇴행성 슬관절염이 있는 여성환자 40명을 대상으로 키네시오 테이핑이 통증감소와 기능증진에 효과가 있는지 알아보고자 실시하였다. 테이핑치료의 효과에 대한 측정은 통증, 관절가동범위, 그리고 일어나 걸어가기 검사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 통증은 대조군에 비해 실험군이 더 유의하게 감소하였으며, 관절가동범위 역시 대조군에 비해 실험군이 더 유의하게 증가하였다. 일어나 걸어가기 검사의 시간은 두 군간에 유의한 차이가 없었지만, 보폭수는 실험군이 더 유의하게 감소하였다. 따라서 이번 연구결과를 통해 알 수 있는 것은 퇴행성 슬관절염 환자에게 키네시오 테이핑을 실시하게 되면 통증감소 및 기능증진에 효과적이라는 것을 알 수 있다.

  • The program implemented in this study consisted of 4 parts : positive self perception, understanding and expression of emotion, communication skills, and interpersonal problem solving competence. Implementation took place once a week In 12 60-90 minutes sessions. The subjects were 33 11- to 13-year old children residing in 2 institutions similar to each other. The experimental group consisted of 11 boys and 7 girls and control group of 7 boys and 8 girls, respectively. Implementation was bracketed by pre- and post-tests. After the 12 weeks intervention program, there were significant differences between the experimental and control groups. The experimental group improved in social and communication skills. Both the experimental and control group didn't improve in self-esteem.

Because of a devision in the diciplines of quality and reliability, this important tool has not been used to extensively to achieve reliability.   • Purpose: This study examined the effects of Interpersonal Relationship Improvement Program Applied MMTIC on self-esteem and interpersonal relationships. Method: The survey was carried out from September to November, 2005. The subjects were 32 middle school students in G City. To test the effects of the Interpersonal Relationship Improvement Program Applied MMTIC, the subjects were divided into two groups, 16 in the experimental group and 16 in the control group. The research design used in this study was a nonequivalent control group pre-test and post-test design in quasi-experimental research. The research tools included MMTIC(Murphy-Meisgeier Type Indicator for Children), self-esteem scale, and interpersonal relationship scale. The collected data was analyzed using Chi-square test, paired t-test, and t-test on the SPSS/WIN 10.0 program. Result: Significant differences were found in the self-esteem scores and interpersonal relationship between the middle school students who had participated in the Interpersonal Relationship Improvement Program Applied MMTIC and those who did not. Conclusion: Therefore, it appears that the Interpersonal Relationship Improvement Program Applied MMTIC is a useful nursing intervention for improving the self-esteem and interpersonal relationships of middle school students.

소그룹 인지기능강화 프로그램이 인지기능, 일상생활활동, 우울, 생활만족도, 악력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of a Cognitive Improvement Program on Cognition, Activities of Daily Living (ADL), Depression, Life Satisfaction, and Grasping Power in Small Groups)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate effects of a cognitive improvement program on cognition, activities of daily living (ADL), depression, life satisfaction, and grasping power in small groups. Methods: A nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. Participants were 127 elders who were never diagnosed with dementia and could read (experimental: 61, control: 66). The program was consisted of 8 sessions to improve vocabulary and writing skills and fine motor skills. Each session was applied once a week for 8 weeks. A group was consisted of less than five members. Results: Cognition (t=3.82, p<.001), depression (t=-2.24, p=.027), life satisfaction (t=2.25, p=.027), and grasping power (Rt: t=2.44, p=.016, Lt: t=2.63, p=.010) except ADL (t=-0.49, p=.622) were significantly increased in the experimental group after the cognitive improvement program compared to the control group. Conclusion: This study indicates that the cognitive improvement program was effective to improve cognition, depression, life satisfaction and grasping power. Further study is needed in order to identify continuous effects of this cognitive improvement program.

집단미술치료프로그램이 초등학교 고립아동의 자아개념 및 학교생활적응에 미치는 효과 (An Effect of a Group Art Treatment Program on Isolated Children's Self-Concept and Adaptation to the School Life in Elementary School)

  • This study aimed at examining an effect of a group art treatment program on isolated children's self-concept and adaptation to the school life in an elementary school. To achieve this goal, the two hypotheses were made. Hypothesis 1. Children in the experimental group that participated in the group art treatment program will show more improvement in self-concept than those in the control group. Hypothesis 2. Children in the experimental group that participated in the group art treatment program will show more improvement in the ability to adapt themselves to the school life than those in the control group. To test the hypotheses, the socio-emotional isolation test developed by Heo Seung-hi (1993) was carried out with 120 third-graders at K elementary school in Busan; then, 24 isolated children (12 boys and 12 girls) at the upper 25 percent level were randomly sampled and assigned to each of experimental and control groups. The five-stage art treatment program as a reconstruction of the prior study to meet the goal of this study was provided to children in the experimental group at the researcher's classroom after school for 13 sessions, two sessions per week. The self-concept test manufactured by Song In-seop (1996), the school life adaptation test developed by Lee Yeong-seon (1997), and the experimental group's school life drawing (KSD) were used to test an effect of the program. For data analysis, two methods, a quantitative analysis of two tests and a qualitative analysis of KSD, were used. The findings were as follows: After implementing the art treatment program with the experimental group, there was significant improvement in all areas. This study concluded that if a group art treatment program is applied to elementary school practice, it will help isolated children improve their self-concept and ability to adapt themselves to the school life.
