  • With slimmer, lighter and all-reflective imaging systems in high demand for consumer and military applications, coaxially folded optical image systems are widely considered because they can extend focal length and reduce track length. Most of these systems consist of multiple surfaces, and these surfaces are machined on one element or grouping processing on two elements. In this paper, we report and first experimentally demonstrate an all-aluminum all-reflective optical system which consists of two optical elements, with two high order aspherical surfaces in each element. The coaxially folded system is designed with Seidel aberration theory and advanced optimization with Zemax. The system is made of all-aluminum material processing by single point diamond turning (SPDT). On this basis, we completed the system integration and performed an imaging experiment. The final system has the advantages of short track length and long focal length and broad application prospects in the micro-unmanned aerial vehicle field.

  • This experiment was undertaken to determine the causative agent of dermatophytosis occured in the 3 common seals and a elephant which were derived from the Tae-gu and Busan zoological gardens. Direct microscopic examination, culture and pathogenicity test were performed for the samples obtained from the skin lesions of the affected common seals and elephant. The causative agent was identified as Trichophyton mentagrophytes exclusively in these cases, and the present report describes the first cases of the common beat and elephant ringworm.

  • We report a quantum wavepacket study on the characteristic bimodal translational energy distribution of photostimulated desorbed Xe from an oxidized silicon (001) surface observed by Watanabe and Matsumoto, Faraday Discuss. 117 (2000) 203. We have simulated the theoretical translational energy distributions based on wavepacket calculations with a sudden transition and averaging model to reproduce the experiment. We discuss the desorption mechanism and suggest a very strong position dependence of the deexcitation processes for Xe/oxidized Si(001).

  • Further evaluation and modification were done on the new concepts plow (frontal plow), a plow which inverts the soil furrow without lateral displacement . First, kinematics of soil cutting section was analyzed and an experiment was conducted to report draft and power requirement. Second, function of main moldboards was examined and modification was made. As a result of the modification , force applied to the moldboard was reduced, but the furrow inversion became less stable.

  • The objective of this report is to investigate the effect of factors like the fineness modulus of sand , content of fly ash and slaked lime, binder/sand ratio, admixture dosage on the physical properties of mortar for finishing. The analysis was performed with design of experiment and air content, water retention and compressive strength were measured.

  • We report the new method for speaker recognition. Until now, many researchers have used HMM (Hidden Markov Model) with cepstral coefficient or neural network for speaker recognition. Here, we introduce the method of speaker recognition using eigenspace. This method can reduce the training and recognition time of speaker recognition system. In proposed method, we use the low rank model of the speech eigenspace. In experiment, we obtain good recognition result.

  • In this paper, we report the continuous speech recognition system using the continuous HMM with discrete duration control and the regression coefficients. Also, we do recognition experiment using One Pass DP method(for 25 sentences of robot control commands) with finite state automata context control. In the experiment for 4 connected spoken digits, the recognition rates are $93.8\%$ when the discrete duration control and the regression coefficients are included, and $80.7\%$ when they are not included. In the experiment for 25 sentences of the robot control commands, the recognition rate are $90.9\%$ when FSN is not included and $98.4\%$ when FSN is included.

  • Background: The purpose of this study is to report the effect of balance training through various ankle inclination on dynamic balance in healthy adults. Methods: This study was participated in 20 healthy subjects. Twenty healthy adults were randomly divided into 10 ankle inclination group and 10 flat group, 3 kinds of exercised were performed in $30^{\circ}$ of the plantar flexion, $0^{\circ}$ of the neutral angle and $30^{\circ}$ of the dorsiflexion. Above 3 kinds of exercises were also performed in the flat group. Dynamic balance of each group was evaluated using a Figure-of-8 hop test, Up-down hop test, and Functional reach test before and after the experiment. Results: In the ankle inclination, the post-experiment showed a significant difference in Figure-of-8 hop test, Up-down hop test, and Functional reach test in comparison to pre-experiment(p<.05). Conclusion: The exercise applied in the ankle inclination is effective in improvement of the dynamic balance.

  • The statistical experiment method is employed to optimize the deposition condition of Co film with DC magnetron sputtering process. The statistical treatment results showed the significance value below 0.05, low RMS error and R-sq value close to 1, which implied that our experiment and design were very reliable. We found that the sheet resistance decreased to -1.83Ω/$\square$ with the deposition temperature, increased to 11.17Ω/$\square$ with the deposition pressure, and decreased into -0.65Ω/$\square$ with the DC power. We also confirmed that the sheet resistance uniformity was mainly influenced by the deposition temperature as it decreased -4.04% at the temperature range of 25$\^{C}$∼147$\^{C}$. Finally, we report that the optimum condition of Co film using our statistical method of design of experiment is the deposition temperature of 25$\^{C}$, the deposition pressure of 12mTorr, and the DC power of 1500W.
