  • The purpose of this study was investigated the perceptions and expectations of science gifted elementary students in the laboratory-based science learning. For the purpose of this study, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 20 science gifted elementary students in J city. The question of the interview is constructed with perception and expectation of science gifted elementary students in divided with 4steps of understanding of lesson object, planning experiment, performing experiment and drawing conclusion in laboratory-based science learning and an attitude for science. The interview is progressed per individual and all the content of the interview is recorded. The result of this research is as follows. The science gifted elementary students have a wish for building an assumption and expectation and planning an experiment with discussion more than following the textbook and teacher present. In the step of the experiment, they wanted general more discussion of their own activities rather than teacher's instruction and they wanted teacher's instruction and they wanted teacher's mediation conflicts within small groups and comments for students' experiment results. The science gifted elementary students wish to open a science lab, which man who likes science can go and come freely and to study with friends who have a same interest to make a theme. And from top to bottom they want to test autonomous and ask to salute like a representative experiment of teacher. And they ask to have a chance to test individually and want to see a movie related to an experiment before doing an experiment. Like this, it presents that the scientifically gifted elementary students want to do an experiment what they can, want to have a class which can plan and can do an experiment by themselves through discussion with the unit more than following explanation of a teacher and a textbook without condition.

  • Purpose: This study sought to evaluate the effects of bone graft wedging on the initial stability of implants in bone sites of unfavorable quality. Materials and Methods: Three male beagle dogs were used in this study. Osteotomies were performed with parallel drills (${\O}4.1{\times}10mm$), and fixtures (${\O}3.3{\times}8mm$) were placed. The control group was given implants without bone graft. Experiment group A was given implants with minimal initial stability using autobone grafts, whereas experiment group B was given xenografts. Groups were also divided by healing times at 4, 8, and 12 weeks. Results: All implants in the control group failed to osseointegrate. On the other hand, all implants in the experiment groups were clinically well-maintained during the entire experiment period. After 4, 8, and 12 weeks, bone-to-implant contact (BIC) ratio and implant stability quotient (ISQ) increased in the experiment groups. The differences between experiment groups A and B were not statistically significant, however. Conclusion: In unfavorable bone regions for dental implants, bone graft packing into the osteotomy prior to implant placement secured minimal initial stability and showed reasonable BIC ratios and ISQ values throughout the study period.

First, self-concept point of experiment group students who execute self-growth program will be improved is meaning than self-concept point of control group students. Second, peer-relationship point of experiment group students who execute self-growth program will be improved is meaning than peer-relationship point of control group students. Third, effect that self-growth program gets to self-concept may be meaning difference according to sex. Fourth, difference that impact that self-growth program gets in peer- relationship is meaning according to sex may join. Chose fifth-year student 2 class 68 people (experiment group n=34, control group n=34) in I primary school locating to Jeonrabuk-do Iksan-si to verify above construction for study target. Disposal about experiment group executed over 10th for 60-80 minute 2 times in a week because investigator uses reconstructing self-growth program with virtue research paper such as learning program for own growth of Lee-Hyeong-Deuk (1998). In order to verify the effect after experiment, 1 collected materials for estimation by providing the subject children with questionaires about self-concept and peer-relationship before and after the experiment, and then analyzed the average differences in number of marks between the experiment group and the control group before and after the experiment through and by using One-Way ANOVA, and SPSS 11.0 program. The following is the result what I obtained from the above study. First, there was significant difference is between average difference before and after of experiment group and control group which execute self-growth program in self-concept elevation ($F_{(1,66)} =28.734$, p <.001). From the sub-variable, there was significant difference in academic self ($F_{(1,66)}=6.423$, p<.05), Social Self ($F_{(1,66)}=48.331$, p<.001), Physical Self ($F_{(1,66)}=11.074$, p <.01), sentimental self ($F_{(1,66)}=9.402$, p <.01) Second, there was significant difference is average difference before and after of experiment group and control group which execute self-growth program in peer-relationship promotion ($F_{(1,66)}=24.109$, p <.001). From the sub-variable there W3S Significant difference in trust ($F_{(1,66)}=14.507$, p<.001), respect ($F_{(1,66)}=15.271$, p <.001). Third, there was expose that significant difference does not exist in average self-concept before and after by sex of experiment group which executes self-growth program, and was not shown significant difference in sub-vairable. Fourth, there was expose that significant difference of whole peer- relationship and in respect of sub-variable in average peer-relationship before-after by sex of experiment group which execute self-growth program, but significant difference did not appear in trust. • The purposes of this study are how to consider the concept of magnetization by fifth elementary school students and how to change conceptions of students after the experiment with developed experiment sets. Personal interviews to the students were used for this study. to probe the conceptions of them, it allowed them to make gestures and to draw pictures through interview. From the analyses of the interview data, following results were found. Students have mostly understood the concept of magnetization, but have not remembered the term itself. And, the students believe that iron is magnetized only if iron was directly contacted a magnet. After the experiment, the students understand that iron could be also magnetized without direct contact to a magnet. And also, they could explain magnetization of iron powder around a magnet by applying the concept of magnetization. This new experiment is a good tool to understand concepts of magnetism.

  • By measuring changes in blood lactate and plasma enzyme (CPK, GOT, GPT) with electrical stimulation applied at two duty cycles, this study is intended to look into which type of duty cycle may have more effects on blood lactate and plasma enzyme constituents through animal experiment so as to determine any duty cycle appropriate for electrical treatment. In this study, electrical stimulation was applied to total 20 Korean house rabbits (weight: 3~3.5 kg) by means of an electrical therapeutic apparatus called TS6000 (made in Netherlands) at duty cycle of 50% and 20% respectively for 30 minutes. Here, 5 cc of blood was collected from their carotid artery before stimulation and in 30 minutes after stimulation respectively to carry out biochemical experiment and analysis. As determined through the above experiment, blood lactate rate was increased to 333.07% at 50% duty cycle after experiment and 185.71% at 20% duty cycle after experiment respectively. In both cases, blood lactate rate was significantly increased to higher level after electrical stimulation than before. Moreover, the rate of change in the average of blood lactate rate at both duty cycles also showed significant differences. CPK rate was boosted to 301.82% at 50% duty cycle after experiment and 321.35% at 20% duty cycle after experiment respectively. In both cases, CPK rate was remarkably boosted to higher level after stimulation than before (p<.05). However, there was not any significant difference in the rate of change in average CPK at both duty cycles (p<.05). GOT rate was significantly boosted up to 38.97% at 50% duty cycle after experiment (p<.05), while it was slightly increased to 1.68% at 20% duty cycle after experiment without any significant difference. Rather, GPT rate dropped slightly at both duty cycles after experiment, but there was not any significant difference. Although blood lactate and GOT were relatively less generated at 20% duty cycle after electrical stimulation than at 50% duty cycle, the change of duty cycle didn't have any significant influence on CPK rate. In this regard, this study failed to come any consistent conclusion about the association between change of duty cycle and muscle fatigue. Therefore, it is advisable that follow-up studies seek various ways to a little more effectively apply electrical stimulation to laboratory animals by avoiding their muscle fatigue. • The purpose of this study was to evaluate effects of sacroiliac joint mobilization and lumbopelvic stabilizing exercises on the equilibrium ability. The subjects were consisted of ninety healthy adult two decade(43 females. 47 males; mean aged 22.1) from 20 to 29. All subjects randomly assigned to the control group, sacroiliac joint mobilization group, lumbopelvic stabilizing exercises group. Lumbopelvic stabilizing exercises group received lumbopelvic stabilizing exercises for 30 minutes, sacroiliac joint mobilization group received sacroiliac joint mobilization for 2-3 minutes per day and three times a week during 3 weeks period. Active balancer(SAKAI EAB-100) was used to measure equilibrium ability. All measurements of each subjects were measured at pre-experiment, after 10 days, and post-experiment. The results of this study were summarized as follows: 1. The WPL of control group, sacroiliac joint mobilization group, lumbopelvic stabilizing exercises group was no significantly differences at pre-experiment(p>.05), but significantly reduced after 10 days and post-experiment(p<.05). The results of analyzed effects of WPL was significantly reduced between experiment type of control group, sacroiliac joint mobilization group, lumbopelvic stabilizing exercises group according to pre-experiment, after 10 days, and post-experiment(p<.05). 2. The RA of control group, sacroiliac joint mobilization group, lumbopelvic stabilizing exercises group was no significantly differences at pre-experiment(p>.05), but significantly reduced after 10 days, and post-experiment(p<.05). The results of analyzed effects of RA was significantly reduced between experiment type of control group, sacroiliac joint mobilization group, lumbopelvic stabilizing exercises group according to pre-experiment, after 10 days, and post-experiment(p<.05). Conclusionally these data suggest that a 3-week SI joint mobilization and lumbopelvic stabilizing exercises improved equilibrium. Additional randomized controlled trials to more fully investigate treatment effects and factors that may mediate these effects are needed.

  • A current standard exist only on the surface tension in the current domestic wetting agent technology standards, so it is difficult to the performance evaluation of the wetting agent through the standard. So this study presents the optimized performance evaluation methods by scale model experimental equipment in order to present techniques for performance evaluation of wetting agents. The purpose of this study is to investigate validity of experimental results of the self-designed scale model experiment equipment by a comparative analysis of experimental results of the NFPA 18 experiment and the experiment using the self-designed scale model experiment equipment. As a result of a comparative analysis of experimental results of the NFPA 18 experiment that evaluate only the permeation performance on the contton and the experiment using the self-designed scale model experiment equipment that evaluate the permeation performance and fire extinguishing performance on wood flour, the discrimination of the permeation performance was confirmed in both the NFPA 18 experiment and the self-designed scale model experiment equipment. And a result of self-designed experiment equipment have clear discriminatory more than NFPA 18 by internal temperature measurement using the thermocouples.
