  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between students' satisfaction levels with culinary practice facilities and adaptation to college life according to their educational experience before joining university. Two hundred culinary arts majors from three universities were sampled and 191 questionnaire copies analyzed. The analysis results are as follows. First, the adaptation level of the group with educational experience was partly higher than that of the group without educational experience. Second, the adaptation level of the group with a relatively high satisfaction level was higher than that of the rest. Third, when the satisfaction level with the facilities for culinary practice was high, the group without educational experience showed a higher level of attachment to university and better physical adaptation than the group with educational experience. Whereas the latter showed a higher level of emotional and social adaptation than the former When the satisfaction level with the facilities for culinary practice was low, the group without educational experience showed a higher level of attachment to university than the group with educational experience. On the other hand, the latter showed a higher level of social, emotional and physical adaptation than former. Therefore, in order to create a future-oriented harmonious teaching and learning experience, a new educational cooking environment that is fully functional and serves to heighten the satisfaction level of students should be designed.

  • In this paper, we describe an actor-critic method as a kind of temporal difference (TD) algorithms. The value function is regarded as a current estimator, in which two value functions have different inputs: one is an actual experience; the other is a simulated experience obtained through a predictive model. Thus, the parameter´s updating for the actor and critic parts is based on actual and simulated experiences, where the critic is constructed by a radial-basis function neural network (RBFNN) and the actor is composed of a kinematic-based controller. As an example application of the present method, a tracking control problem for the position coordinates and azimuth of a nonholonomic mobile robot is considered. The effectiveness is illustrated by a simulation.

  • Generally, a PLM education program in university consists of lectures of theory, software lab and software development raining as an advanced subject. Most industries want more than these, such as practical problem solving capabilities, teamwork skills and engineering communications including human relationship, rhetoric, technical writing, presentation and etc. Problem-Based Learning is a problem-stimulated and student-centered teaming method, and an innovative education strategy for collaborative and self-directed learning by applying real world problems. Education paradigm changes from "teaching" to "learning" accomplished by team working, and students are encouraged to develop, present, explain and defense their ideas, suggestions or solutions of a problem, and the "cooperative teaming" proceeds spontaneously during team operations. Co-operative education program is an into-grated academic model and a structured educational program combining classroom learning with productive work experience in a field related to a student's academic or career goals. Based on the partnership between academic institutions and industries, students are engaged in real and productive "work" in the industry, in contrast with merely observing. In this paper, PBL with Co-op program is suggested as an effective approach for PLM education, and we made and operated a PBL-based education course with industry co-op program. The Co-op education in industry accompanied with the PBL course in university can improve practical problem solving capabilities of students, including modeling and management of P3R(Product, Process, resource and Plant) using commercial PLM software tools. By the result, we found this to be an effective strategy for helping students, professors and industries succeed in engineering education, especially PLM area.

  • As the 2015 revised curriculum is being implemented from 2018, efforts are being made to cultivate scientific literacy among students in the field of science. Scientific experiments help students to develop their interest in Science and their scientific attitudes. Learning through experimentation rather than learning scientific facts increases learners' understanding, and can be remembered longer. Therefore, experiments in Science subject are very important. However, in middle schools, scientific experiments are not performed due to the lack of time, budget and experimental material. In this research, we analyze middle school science textbooks, conduct questionnaires for students of science pre-service teachers, select the most important science experiments, and develop a mobile App to simulate and experience scientific experiments with the App. The proposed App is developed in a game format using quest-based learning methods to gain learning enhancement. It is also made using Unity. In this paper, after developing the app, we propose the direction of STEAM contents development through analyzing the difference from existing apps and the feedback from users.

The results were as follows. First, according to the teacher's educational experience, there were statistically significant differences in the recognition and execution of curriculum reorganization, and the recognition and dependence on textbooks. Second, there were statistically significant correlations among such variables as recognition and implementation of curriculum reorganization, and the recognition and dependence on textbooks. Third, the teacher's educational experience had a significant impact on curriculum reorganization and the dependence on textbooks. Curriculum restructuring in elementary schools is not an end in itself. What is also needed is to find and implement the best class plans for promoting the .meaningful growth and development of elementary school students. This study suggests that the dependence on textbooks should be lowered and the curriculum should be actively reorganized, and teachers should develop their expertise based on extensive educational experience.
