This study analyzed problem presenting and solving activities in elementary school mathematics class to enhance insights of teachers in class for providing real meaning of learning. Following research problems were selected to provide basic information for improving to sound student oriented lesson rather than teacher oriented lessons. Protocols were made based on video information of 5th grade elementary school 'Na' level figure and measurement area 3. Congruence of figures, 4. Symmetry of figures, and 6. Areas and weight. Protocols were analyzed with numbering, comment, coding and categorizing processes. This study is an qualitative exploratory research held toward three teachers of 5th grade for problem solving activities analysis in problem presenting method, opportunity to providing method to solve problems and teachers' behavior in problem solving activities. Following conclusions were obtained through this study. First, problem presenting method, opportunity providing method to solve problems and teachers' behavior in problem solving activities were categorized in various types. Second, Effective problem presenting methods for understanding in mathematics problem solving activities are making problem solving method questions or explaining contents of problems. Then the students clearly recognize problems to solve and they can conduct searches and exploratory to solve problems. At this point, the students understood fully what their assignments were and were also able to search for methods to solve the problem. Third, actual opportunity providing method for problem solving is to provide opportunity to present activities results. Then students can experience expressing what they have explored and understood during problem solving activities as well as communications with others. At this point, the students independently completed their assignments, expressed their findings and understandings in the process, and communicated with others. Fourth, in order to direct the teachers' changes in behaviors towards a positive direction, the teacher must be able to firmly establish himself or herself as a teaching figure in order to promote students' independent actions.
Basic nursing, the course for the nursing students to experience nursing practice before going on to th clinical practice, and is crucial for solving health-related problems of patients. This study is a descriptive research study to analyze the impact factors associated with nursing students' basic nursing skill competency. In this study, total 181 subjects participants, and by using a structured questionnaire. Data were collected by self-written questionnaire method. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 22.0 program. Of the general characteristics of the subjects, the difference in basic nursing competency was found according to admission motive, major satisfaction, and interest in practice. Critical thinking disposition and the degree of self-training aid influenced performance of basic nursing skills by nursing students, and these variables explained 23.8% of the total variance of basic nursing skills performance. These findings suggest, in order to improve performance of basic nursing skills in nursing students, it is necessary to use various teaching methods that help improve critical thinking and relevant curriculum that promote self-practice.
In this study, using a questionnaire about camp programs, we surveyed 375 gifted education institutes, including 285 classes for the gifted, 70 institutes for the gifted at education offices, and 20 institutes for the gifted at universities. The survey questionnaire consists of questions relating to camp design, camp operation, and camp introspection. The questions relating to camp operation are subdivided into questions relating to content, process, product, and learning environment of the camp. In the analysis of camp design, experience-centered camps entailing visits to research institutes, science museums, and so on showed the highest ratio. The camps were generally carried out in summer vacation as two day/one night programs. The average score of camp content was 3.72, that of camp process was 3.78, that of camp product was 3.77, and that of camp environment was 3.58. In the analysis of camp introspection, the item 'a lack of information about diverse camp activities' showed the highest difficult thing. Integrating these results, we suggest that information about diverse camp activities should be developed and supplied and the camp environment strengthen the freedom of students to select camp activities.

The purpose of the study is to explore the types and coping methods of dilemmas that pre-service science teachers experience during student teaching. For this, we collected 131 dilemma journals that 34 pre-service science teachers wrote during a four-week period of student teaching. Results show that first, there are five categories of dilemmas, they are, 'Which science teacher should I be?', 'What is good science teaching?', 'How should I build relationships with the people around me at school?', and 'Who am I as a student teacher?'. Second, pre-service science teachers' status as a students-teachers made them cope with dilemmas passively. Third, when they cope with the dilemmas, student-teachers considered the dilemmas as conflicts of irreconcilable alternatives rather than opportunities of conciliation and compromise, therefore, most pre-service science teachers choose just one alternative and only 20% of dilemmas are resolved by compromise choice. Finally, dilemmas which showed the features of science teaching are the dilemmas related to scientific inquiry teaching and science teaching-learning model. Based on the results, we discussed the implications for teacher education.
The numbers of Korean immigrants and students in the United States are steadily increasing, but there have been very few studies of their second language literacy development (Cole, Maddox, Lim, & Notari-Syverson, 2002; Scarcellar & Chin, 1993; Shin, 1994; Skilton-Sylvester, 2001; Yu, 1994). Nor do the very few studies explore the inseparable relationship between Korean literacy and English literacy within a cultural context. This study aims to compare their views on Korean writing with those on English writing to see trace the multiliteracy development of Korean learners of English in the United States. I conducted in-depth oral interviews with Korean immigrants and students of various ages. They were asked to state everything they could remember about what they have learned to write and read in their native language and in their second language across their lifetimes, focusing particularly on the institutions they attended, materials they used, people involved in their learning, and their motivations for writing. The results reveal that the participants developed a view of writing specific to the Korean context and after they moved to the United States, they struggled to readjust the values and meanings they had had for Korean literacy to the second language context. The results of this study suggest future multiliteracy studies are needed to explore multiliteracy development in terms of the meanings and values language learners associate with their multiliteracy and help educational institutions and communities to approach second language learners' multiliteracy development as a life-long experience.
This paper presents several reasons for the necessity of archaeological hands-on training and strategies for its implementation. First, it is necessary to produce a specialized manual for local cultural heritage education that can enhance the specialization and educational effectiveness of archaeological experience education. In addition, in order to secure professionalism in hands-on education and conduct it systematically, the ability of instructors to conduct education is important, so instructor competence reinforcement education needs to be conducted regularly. In addition, hands-on education needs a strategy of planning and content development of archaeological education programs, with consideration given to the subjects of learning, and the establishment of a cooperative network. It is time to cooperate with various experts to establish an education system necessary for cultural heritage education in the region and develop customized content for local archaeological heritage supplementary textbooks. Finally, due to Covid-19, we agonized over effective education plans for online archaeological heritage education, which requires active interaction class design and a strategy to promote interaction between professors and learners. In addition, such archaeological heritage education should be compatible with the goal of providing customized lifelong education.
This study investigated the level of academic passion for pre-service elementary teachers' science pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) and the factors that influence the passion. To this end, 182 first to fourth grade students in advanced non-science majors who were taking science-related courses in the second semester were selected, and two tests were then administered to evaluate their academic passions for science subject matter knowledge and science pedagogical knowledge. Individual in-depth interviews were also conducted with some of the participants. It was found that the factors such as "importance" and "harmonious passion" for learning science subject matter knowledge and science pedagogical knowledge were found at a high level. On the other hand, the factors such as "like" and "investment of time and energy" were slightly higher than normal, and the factor such as "obsessive passion" was slightly lower than normal. The differences in academic passion for science subject matter knowledge and science pedagogical knowledge were greater according to the high school track than the grade. The pre-service elementary teachers selected more often the factors such as "individual interests", "high school track", "contents of science-related courses at the university of education", "characteristics of professor in charge of science-related courses at the university of education", and "experience in teaching practicum" as the factors that influenced their academic passion for science subject matter knowledge and science pedagogical knowledge. However, there was a slight difference in the selection ratio depending on the high school track.

Recognizing the importance of abductive inquiry in Earth science, some theoretical approaches that deploy abduction have been researched. And, it is necessary that the abductive inquiry in a geological field excursion as a vivid locale of Earth science inquiry should be researched. We developed a geological field trip based on the abductive learning model, and investigated students' abductive inference, thinking strategies used in those inferences, and the impact of a teacher's pedagogical intervention on students' abductive inference. Results showed that students, during the field excursion, could accomplish abductive inference about rock identification, process of different rock generation, joints generation in metamorpa?ic rocks, and terrains at the field trip area. They also used various thinking strategies in finding appropriate rules to construe the facts observed at outcrops. This means that it is significant for the enhancement of abductive reasoning skills that students experience such inquiries as scientists do. In addition, a teacher's pedagogical interventions didn't ensure the content of students' inference while they helped students perform abductive reasoning and guided their use of specific thinking strategies. Students had found reasoning rules to explain the 01: served facts from their wrong prior knowledge. Therefore, during a geological field excursion, teachers need to provide students with proper background knowledge and information in order that students can reason rues for persuasive abductive inference, and construe the geological features of the field trip area by the establishment of appropriate hypotheses.

In this paper, we propose system that apply VIBL method to add speech recognition to LIBL method based on human s studying method to use natural language to steering system of ship, MERCS and winch appliances and use VIBL method to alternate process that linguistic instruction such as officer s steering instruction is achieved via ableman and control steering gear, MERCS and winch appliances. By specific method of study, ableman s suitable steering manufacturing model embodies intelligent steering gear controlling system that embody and language direction base studying method to present proper meaning element and evaluation rule to steering system of ship apply and respond more efficiently on voice instruction of commander using fuzzy inference rule. Also we embody system that recognize voice direction of commander and control MERCS and winch appliances. We embodied steering manufacturing model based on ableman s experience and presented rudder angle for intelligent steering system, compass bearing arrival time, evaluation rule to propose meaning element of stationary state and correct steerman manufacturing model rule using technique to recognize voice instruction of commander and change to text and fuzzy inference. Also we apply VIBL method to speech recognition ship control simulator and confirmed the effectiveness.
The purpose of this study is to examine the change in the beliefs of regular classroom teachers after participating in a gifted education lectures and practicum as well as the effectiveness of the lectures and practicum. Each teacher was asked to complete a pre-/ a mid-/ and post-journal, detailing their expected characteristics and then describing what occurred and how their initial expectations were altered. The teachers mentioned high thinking skills, creativity, fast problem solving skills, and a lack of communication skills as intellectual characteristics of gifted students and high motivation and task commitment as social characteristics. They mentioned the characteristics in textbooks on pre- and mid-journals, but presented their observations in post-journals such as lack of communication skills, competitive spirit, and frustrations. The study found that teachers broadened their view of giftedness, recognized the need to adapt instructions for gifted students, realized the necessity of knowing the students to differentiate instruction patterns, and emphasized teaching-learning strategies for the gifted. These results contribute to the promise of having regular classroom teachers engage in a field experience with gifted students to supplement discussions about gifted education lectures.
