  • Amidst the onset of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the prominence of artificial intelligence, societal structures are undergoing significant changes. There is a heightened global interest in AI education for nurturing future talents. Consequently, this research aims to develop an AI-integrated Korean language curriculum for first-year high school students, utilizing the ADDIE model for instructional program development. To assess the program's effectiveness, pre-post assessments were conducted on future core competencies (Collaboration, Communication, Critical Thinking, Creativity) and knowledge information processing skills. The curriculum, spanning nine sessions and incorporating four small projects, sought to provide students with a new experience of AI-integrated Korean language education. As a result, students who participated in the program demonstrated improvement in future core competencies across all areas, and positive outcomes were observed in satisfaction levels and qualitative analysis. Through these findings, it is suggested that this program successfully integrates artificial intelligence into high school Korean language education, potentially contributing to the cultivation of future talents among students.

  • Water utilities are making various efforts to reduce water losses from water networks, and an essential part of them is to recognize the moment when a pipe burst occurs during operation quickly. Several physics-based methods and data-driven analysis are applied using real-time flow and pressure data measured through a SCADA system or smart meters, and methodologies based on machining learning are currently widely studied. Water utilities should apply various approaches together to increase pipe burst detection. The most intuitive and explainable water balance method and its procedure were presented in this study, and the applicability and detection performance were evaluated by applying this approach to water supply pipelines. Based on these results, water utilities can establish a mass balance-based pipe burst detection system, give a guideline for installing new flow meters, and set the detection parameters with expected performance. The performance of the water balance analysis method is affected by the water network operation conditions, the characteristics of the installed flow meter, and event data, so there is a limit to the general use of the results in all sites. Therefore, water utilities should accumulate experience by applying the water balance method in more fields.

  • Burqa or in Arabic An-Niqab is used to cover the entire face of a woman, except the two eyes. The burqa is not obligatory according to Syafi'i madzhab, which is followed by the majority of Indonesian Muslims. In this study, researchers used a survey to develop an understanding of veiled female students' attitudes about themselves, their experience wearing a burqa, interactions with peers, and their perception of how other members of their academic community perceive them. The survey used Likert-type items. The sample in this study was 100 students from three general universities in South Kalimantan: Antasari State Islamic University, Rasyidiyah Khalidiyah Islamic College, and College of Quranic Sciences. The key findings include that 58.2% indicated a willingness to form associations with any women; 17.7% said they were happy associating only with the veiled community. A total of 13.9% said that sometimes they were told to take off their burqa when they were in the classroom. While most said they were never bullied on campus (67.1%), 19% said they were often bullied. Most (78.5%) said that they were given freedom even though there was a suggestion to open their faces when education and learning were taking place.

  • Process synchronization is one of the most difficult subject for students learning the Operating System courses. It is due to the fact that concurrent process environment, where many events occur at the same time, is difficult to understand for ordinary human who thinks only one thing at a time. Classical synchronization examples like the Bounded buffer problem or the Dining philosopher problem fail to hook attention and interest from lower grade students who just begin to study the Operating System courses in college because these examples are either too technical or too unrealistic. In this paper we propose another synchronization example named the Bank account problem as an alternative to the classical ones. Bank account problem is proved to succeed getting high interest and understanding from the student as it is easy and realistic, and almost every student has the experience using bank account in real life. Various synchronization subjects including controlling the execution sequence of each process, incorrect result due to the race conditions, use of semaphores, deadlock, and monitor are considered to apply them to the Bank account problem.
