Study on the Performance Evaluation of the Air-tightened Exhibition Case in the Museum (밀폐형 전시케이스의 기밀성능 평가방법 연구)

  • This study was undertaken to judge the quality of air-tightened exhibition cases. Exhibition cases for artifacts display provide a layer of protection between the interior conditions in the exhibition case and the exterior fluctuating conditions of temperature and relative humidity in the museum environment. An infiltration model of the exhibition case was developed through the experimental measurements to calculate the number of air change rate in the exhibition case undergoing in a day, which represents the airtightness of the exhibition case. The results indicate that tighter exhibition cases provide greater protection against the fluctuating conditions of temperature and humidity outside. When the temperature and humi- dity difference between the exhibition case in-and-out is larger, some absorption materials should be applied to control the environmental conditions in the exhibition case.

  • This cases are designated to examine various respect of space program in a museum which are focused on 32 exhibition unit space among the 9 case studies of public museum. Therefore, this study cases offer comprehension of a character and trend about exhibition space through the analysis and classification. Also, through setting up the guide line for the classification of exhibition unit space, the intention of the case study is the use of the case study as guide line and offer the basic data of exhibition space for consideration of exhibition act and moving line caused by the exhibition unit space type.

Reinterpretation on the Relationship between Spatial Structure and Visitors' Movement in Museums - Focus on the Interpretation of Tracking Score with Exhibition Density and Extent of Eyesight - (박물관 전시공간구조와 관람행태의 상관관계 재해석에 관한 연구 - 전시밀도와 시각개방도에 따른 관람확률 해석을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the correlation between spatial space structure and visitors' behavior and interpret visitors' behavior concretely from the aspect of exhibition environments. So, this study intends to qualify spatial space structure with integration, connectivity and control value by utilizing space syntax, limit to tracking score among the analysis index and reinterpret with exhibition density and extend of eyesight among the exhibition environments. The results of this study are as follows; First, in case of museums, tracking score shows plus correlation with connectivity and control value among the space syntax variables and very low correlation with integration. In case of art museums, tracking score shows plus correlation with integration and wide variable is judged to more useful to analyze visitor's behavior than minor variable. Second, museums doesn't make a great effect on visitors' behavior from the aspect of extent of eyesight, but from the aspect of exhibition density, visitors relatively watched evenly without short cut at the early stage of exhibition in spite of high exhibition density. And, they conducted short cut as they went to the middle stage of exhibition on the course of watching although the numerical value of exhibition density is low. Third, in case of art museums, visitors' behavior was relatively influenced by exhibition density, not extent of eyesight. But, as they went to the high level on the course of watching, watching speed became rapid and watching length became short in the place the value of extent of eyesight was high. Its reason is judged to be easy to grasp position or space structure of the next exhibition room visually. Therefore, when the concentration of watching is necessary from the aspect of exhibition, to control exhibition density properly before the space is useful to draw visiting to exhibition space afterward.

  • There are many ways to know the social and cultural level of each country. Among them, a museum are not only the best place to understand the history, the life style and the culture level. The most important constituent, which museum architecture has, are visitors, exhibition and communication between visitors. Exhibition space composition is the one of important things in museum architecture, and it's essential to show an intent of exhibition to visitors. This thesis has the purpose to provide the basic material through analyzing exhibition space composition and exhibition method of the theme museum and understanding the relativity of them so that the new theme museums can be designed in the Tight direction. So I chose the independence museum that opened within recent 10 years, finally middle & small size's theme museum were selected. The results from the case study are as follow. Firstly, the exhibition space unit of basic type and center-hall enter type had a one-way for gateway and used the exhibition of three or four faces. The exhibition space unit of around tile center-hall type and guidance type had the separated gateway and used the exhibition of one or two faces. Secondly, the exhibition method of selected museums was divided into the wall face type and the island type. The exhibition method of two faces mainly used in guidance type caused complicated visitor circulation. In that case, it seemed to be good that two walls were used alternately. Thirdly, there were visual type, audio-visual type, handling type and experiential type in the method of exhibition. The former two types were used mostly, and the latter two types were rarely used. Fourthly, the wall face type was inefficient for exhibition because given walls were supposed to be used. Therefore, it was more effective to use the wall face type and the island type together.

  • In recent years, with thedevelopment of digital media technology immersive experiential exhibitions that provide realistic and realistic exhibition experiences to the audience are increasing In this study, the representative cases of these immersiveexperiential exhibitions were analyzed with a focus on the elements of the exhibition design. We also introduced the exhibition case of 'A Hero's Adventure' which was held and operated by applying game design elements to thethe directing planning of an immersive experience exhibition. In addition, the effects and utilization methods of the exhibition that applied game planning elements such as challenges goals conflicts rules and wins and losses were considered.

  • With NFC technology, visitors can easily enjoy exhibit-related information and services. The participating firms can accumulate the visitor data and build up networks with potential visitors. This paper is to report an implementation and operation case of an NFC-based exhibition support service which creates new value as above. For this objective, we introduce the issues in constructing NFC-based exhibition support service. Moreover, we analyze visitor behaviors based on the tag touch data collected, and calculate the economic values generated. The NFC-based exhibition support service in this paper was applied to Hyundai Motors' booth in the 2013 Seoul Motor Show. This paper concludes with implications for business operators that are interested in applying NFC technology to exhibition spaces.

  • The core of character and concept in an exhibition space of contemporary museum is that the place for relics and materials changes into the place for spectators, the static exhibition place changes into the dynamic exhibition place, and the place for learning naturally during amusement. In other words, it could convey the conceptual exhibition object which is not the material object called a relic, it could be a place where is to investigate, participate, experience and enjoy with easily method to general public, and ordinary people are supposed to experience with integrative the world of intellectual, cultural and artistic which is inconcionsly rising a dimensiov. In order to response positively the change of these exhibition concept itself, exhibition system will be established through the analysis of realistic exhibition objects with the visulatization of theme or thought of an exhibitiov. In process of conveying image, the effective and concrete exhibition method and technique should be measured in order to realize the communication between spectators and exhibition objects. The purpose of this study is to find the methodology which is enable to establish the exhibition theme and presentation system through the selection and analysis of exhibition objects in major cases of a musem of ecience and engneering, to find the process model till the methodology applies to the space scheme, and to find finally the designed indicators which is applicable to the progress of exhibition desigv.

  • An instance of domestic exhibition facility building case, the shortage of managing personal in construction resulted serious issue on expenses, times, quality, and safty with no satisfaction on its process and result. According to subject's speciality the CM's application methods are varied and because of its speciality, overall process of building an exhibition facility operating by its owner. This study intends to exam a application possibility of CM on exhibition facility construction to make smooth communication among varied area that following to exhibition facility construction.

  • With the introduction of the digital technology in the exhibition environment, the information of the exhibit has come to be transmitted through diverse media. The visitors desire has been increased from the simple viewing of the exhibition to the active participation in the exhibition viewing and the utilization of the exhibit information. Subsequently, the study on the service to effectively support the viewing experience and provide the information by utilizing the internet and mobile device for visitors in movement has become important in terms of the exhibition environment. Accordingly, in this study, the current condition in studying the service supporting the exhibition environment and the exhibition viewing, which are being changed into a digital network environment, was examined through the literature and case studies. In order to find out the viewing situation and viewing type of visitors, the visitors behaviors of viewing the exhibition were observed. By analyzing the contents observed, the viewing type and keyword were drawn in accordance with the visitors behaviors of viewing. On the basis of this, visitors needs and problems occurring in case of the exhibition viewing were found out via in-depth interview. The service factors of supporting the exhibition viewing were proposed on the basis of the factors by which visitors needs and problems could be solved via interface in the circumstance when visitors would move round the exhibition hall and view the exhibition. In terms of the service factors, the method to resolve was presented on the basis of the relationship between the exhibit and the space in case of selecting and viewing the exhibit. This was applied into the mobile PDA with the example of the exhibition environment in the national museum. Through the scenario of using, the usefulness of the service proposed and the relevant possibility of utilization were reviewed.

Analysis of Satisfaction Surveys in Accordance with the Characteristics of the Components of Trick Art Experience Exhibition Space During -Around Seoul Trick Art Exhibition of Three Cases- (트릭아트 체험전시공간의 구성요소별 특성에 따른 만족도조사 분석 - 서울지역의 트릭아트전시관 3개 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • As life is changing, modern people are interested in culture life more than the past and as a result Art Exhibition increases. Nowadays many methods of exhibit are introduced, especially Direct experience. Trick Art Experience exhibition introduced Direct experirence to a work of art for interests and used props, objets, images, and sounds for maximizing experience element. Trick Art Experience exhibition added humor as imitating famous painting and gave a deep impression through the optical illusion technique which make flat structure look three-dimensional structure. Recently, demands for Experience exhibition which are like Trick Art increase. This study figure out pros and cons through a comparison analysis of direction and component about Trick Art Experience exhibition and find a check list about making an audience active about experience. From now on, we have an object about showing design data including customer satisfaction measurement to make various expressions of direction and component about Experience Art through a case analysis. We have firsthand visited case spaces to experience the spaces and prepared a check list for the relevant types of expressions. Referring to the exhibit work classification system, components that correspond to Trick Art Experience exhibition were grouped according to constituting items. Among the types of expressions, the levels of satisfaction with Experience exhibition and Participating exhibit were found to be high and the level of satisfaction with Heart Moving exhibit was found to be low through surveys. Among the components, the levels of satisfaction with stereograms and formative effect elements were found to be high and those of spatial changes and media effects were found to be low through surveys. Therefore, the expressions should be reinforced and the components should be improved.
