Behavioral Ethogram에 의한 전시관람 행동분석 (An Analytic Study On Visitor′s Behavior in Museum Exhibition Space through Ethogram - Focusing on the Case of Museums in Korea -)

  • A thesis presented on the study of visitors circulation character, and components in an exhibition space in museums. A behavior ethogram is an investigational tool of tracing examination of visitors. An exhibition layout and behavior characters of exhibition viewing in the configuration of exhibition space are planned by using the method of the behavior ethogram. As time goes by an expansion of a museums concept and changing roles are more extroversive and constructive than the past. It will reflect the phases of the times and show several different aspects. The reflection of the changing circumstance will have to examine an each relationship between exhibition data, exhibition spaces and visitors In the beginning of a plan of the museum. However, the study of a unique behavior pattern and character which are made by moving visitors themselves are quietly not enough studied. The exhibition layout which is considerably examined by the viewing behavior of visitors in act response and a following circulation of viewing have a lack of precise directions and examples. In short, this study ultimately represents to grasp the meaning of the behavior characters of viewing. Furthermore, the basic directions in the museums plan are carefully considered by the reflection of exhibition circulation.

  • In contemporary society, Labyrinth and maze are used with the same meaning. They are also used by translating various meanings. But labyrinth and maze are exactly different meaning. The purpose of this study is to inquire about difference for understanding essential meaning between labyrinth and maze. First of all, this study is to grasp composition principles and the characteristics of space through example of labyrinth and maze from ancient to contemporary, prescribe about essential meaning between labyrinth and maze and examine contemporary architecture which is fit for essential meaning. As compositional Principle in labyrinth and maze applied to comtemporary architecture, the labyrinth are centrality, property of one-sideness, determinable space, on the contrary the maze are out of centrality, property of multi-sideness, indeterminable space. Finally, The aim of this paper is analyze exhibition space that suit to the characteristics of composition principle and find the characteristics in labyrinth and maze. Examples of exhibition space are Aldo Van Eyck's 'Sculpture Pavilion', Kazuyo Sejima's '21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art', Ben van berkel's'Museum Het Valkhof'. These research we studied the visitor's circulation and the architectural structure in exhibition space with the spatial characteristics and the compositional principle in labyrinth and maze.

  • 현대 도예 예술은 새로운 예술 형식으로서 그에 상응하는 도자기 전시 방법이 요구되는데 전시 공간의 디자인과 전시 방식을 어떻게 활용하여 관객들에게 현대 도예작품의 시각 경험과 다양한 정보를 전달할 것인가에 대한 문제는 전시공간 디자인에서의 일차적인 주요 문제라 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 현대 도예 예술 전시 공간 디자인의 특성에 초점을 맞추고 있는데 이는 현대 도예작품 전시 공간 디자인에 관한 연구가 부족한 문제점을 해결하고 현대 도예 작품에서 최고의 전시효과를 달성하는 것을 목표로 진행한다. 첫째, 선행 연구의 내용을 요약하고 후속 연구를 위한 이론 근거를 제시하였다. 둘째, 경덕진 도자기 대학교 미술관에서 개최한 <도자기의 정신> 2021 경덕진 국제 도예 예술 비엔날레 현장과 전시자료, 그리고 전시공간자료 등과 관련하여 현장답사를 진행한 후, 인간공학 관점에서 공간의 전체적인 배치와 전시공간의 형태 등을 고찰하고 분석하여 경덕진 도자기 대학교 미술관의 전시공간의 전체적인 배치의 과학적 통일성과 전시공간의 형태적 디자인의 유연성과 지속가능성을 도출하였다. 본 연구에서 얻은 이론 지식은 현대 도예 예술 전시공간의 디자인을 위한 이론 지침에 도움을 줄 수 있어 중요한 실천적 가치를 가진다. 실내 공공 공간 디자인 실천을 위한 지침 제공은 중요한 실용적 의의가 있으며 더 나아가 중국 및 세계 현대 도예 예술 전시공간 디자인의 발전에 도움을 줄 수 있다.

  • The core of character and concept in an exhibition space of contemporary museum is that the place for relics and materials changes into the place for spectators, the static exhibition place changes into the dynamic exhibition place, and the place for learning naturally during amusement. In other words, it could convey the conceptual exhibition object which is not the material object called a relic, it could be a place where is to investigate, participate, experience and enjoy with easily method to general public, and ordinary people are supposed to experience with integrative the world of intellectual, cultural and artistic which is inconcionsly rising a dimensiov. In order to response positively the change of these exhibition concept itself, exhibition system will be established through the analysis of realistic exhibition objects with the visulatization of theme or thought of an exhibitiov. In process of conveying image, the effective and concrete exhibition method and technique should be measured in order to realize the communication between spectators and exhibition objects. The purpose of this study is to find the methodology which is enable to establish the exhibition theme and presentation system through the selection and analysis of exhibition objects in major cases of a musem of ecience and engneering, to find the process model till the methodology applies to the space scheme, and to find finally the designed indicators which is applicable to the progress of exhibition desigv.

미술관에서 평면전시와 입체전시에 따른 관람행태의 변화;부산시립미술관을 중심으로 (The Variation of Visitor' Behavior in relation to the Planar Exhibition and the Three Dimensional Exhibition in Art Museum;focused on Busan Museum of Modern Art)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate how visitors' behavior change in relation to the pattern of exhibition in art museum. For the purpose Busan Museum of Modern Art was selected as the sample in this study. And two patterns of exhibition, namely the planar exhibition and the three dimensional exhibition, were surveyed using the tracking movement method. The data gathered from random-sampling 60 visitors in a art museum was analyzed by the correlation analysis and T-test. The results are as follows; 1) There is no meaningful difference in visitors' behavior by the exhibition pattern in terms of their viewing area, viewing time, viewing distance, viewing velocity, viewing rate. 2) In contrast, there is meaningful difference in terms of the number of stops by visitors and the time spent without movement to see the objects; visitors stopped more often and stayed longer within the three dimensional exhibition space than the planar exhibition in a art museum. In sum, visitors extrinsically show no big behavioral difference between the planar exhibition and the three dimensional exhibition, but much difference in the way they communicate with objects; they show more active behavior within the three dimensional exhibition space.

  • 자연과 인간, 과학기술의 조화를 요하는 시대적 흐름에 따라 과학관은 대중에게 친숙한 공간이 되어 그 수요가 늘고 있다. 과학기술문화에 대한 정보는 산업화, 정보화, 전문화 사회에 있어 미래를 개척하는 힘이다. 따라서 그러한 정보를 전달하는 전시관은 적극적이고 활발한 정보의 교류가 이루어지도록 계획되어야 하는데 그것은 잘 짜여진 전시 연출의 기획과정을 통해 가능하다. 본 연구는 전시관의 디자인에 있어서 연출의 중요성을 밝히는 데에 의의를 둔다. 연구의 진행 과정은 다음과 같다. 1. 과학관의 기능과 역할을 고찰하고 전시 연출에 대한 개념을 정립하다. 2. 전시공간을 연출하기 위해서 사용되는 매체와 기법을 제시하고 연출 사례를 연구한다. 3. 구체적인 전시 연출의 기획 과정과 연출에 따른 시나리오를 제안하여 연출의 효과와 중요성을 밝힌다 연구 결과 연출은 전시의 효율성(활발한 정보의 커뮤니케이션)을 증대시키는 효과를 가져오며 따라서 기획에 있어서 반드시 고려되어야 하는 과정임을 알 수 있었다.

  • This study is to a question in argument that existing theses about a trait spatial configuration of exhibition space were analyzed without appropriateness verification of analysis characteristics. Firstly, through theoretical studies of established thesis, validity twenty analysis characteristics was chosen by making an investigation into existing analysis characteristics. Secondly, through a subject of our investigation, forty-two exhibition space of nineteen museums and art museum at home and abroad, a distribution map of exhibition space was analyzed by multivariate analysis. As a result of this study : 1) Nine analysis characteristics which extracted through multivariate analysis was the principal analysis characteristics. 2) A scale was important characteristic for the classification of museum therefore a degree of space perception was ought to compare every one of similar scale museum. 3) When comparing a trait of spatial configuration at exhibition space, these characteristics came into effect on middle sized museums. 4) It was visually confirmed a trait of spatial configuration of each group between museum and art museum

국공립 박물관 전시 행정담당자의 의식 연구 (A Study on the Consciousness of Exhibition Administrator of National Museums)

  • An exhibition administrator, one who works in the exhibition space of museums and exhibition halls, has carried on various tasks in order to improve the exhibition standard and viewer's satisfaction. Although exhibition administrators have a variety of direct perceptions regarding an exhibition in the actual on-site space, a study on their consciousness was absent. Thus, this study was to comprehend the awareness of how the consciousness of exhibition administrators, who directly understand the various matters regarding the exhibition on-site, was structured and to investigate the difference between the consciousness of exhibition viewers and designers. For the study, Q-Methodology, which can scientifically manage the consciousness such as awareness and the acquired attitudes through individual experiences from a specific group, was applied. The classification of 33 Q-methodology research questions was carried out with 18 exhibition administrators, who are working at either national or public museums and exhibition halls in Korea, and the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) using the QUANL PC program was performed. The results of the analysis provided the following 4 types: 'viewer attraction and exhibition method oriented', 'exhibition standard oriented', 'public relations oriented' and 'the public and government's interest oriented'. Each type showed significant characteristics. Additionally, n showed that 'exhibition standard oriented' was the common type after comparing the type of consciousness among the 3 groups of people, such as an exhibition administrator, an exhibition designer, and a viewer. It indicated that the types of 'public relations oriented' and 'the public and government's interest oriented' from the consciousness category for the exhibition administrator were the most independent type, not being found in any of the other groups. And the Significant correlation between the exhibition viewers and designers was identified after examining the Pearson's correlation among the 3 groups.
