In order to understand the characteristics of soil according to the cultivation environment of Chinese bellflower (Platycodon grandiflorum A.), soil chemical properties of 12 collected soil samples from 6 cultivated fields in Okcheon, Chungbuk province in August. 2017 were analyzed. The soil pH was distributed within the range of 4.61 to 5.25 at all cultivation years and E.C (Electric Conductivity) and T-N (Total Nitrogen) of the cultivation year were not significant. Available $P_2O_5$ was higher than the average for medicinal crops and P. grandiflorum in Korea and C.E.C (Cation Exchange Capacity) was inconsistent for each cultivation year. In particularly, it was validated that the content of exchangeable cations K, Ca, Ma, and Na in this experiment was similar to that of C.E.C according to the cultivation years, because C.E.C had a high correlation with the exchangeable cations. For the available $P_2O_5$, as affected by trans-planting, 5Y-NT-H (cultivated 5 years and non-transplanted) had 58 mg/kg, while 5Y-T-H (cultivated 5 years and transplanted) had 246 mg/kg. The soil pH was found to be lower (acidic) in diseased soils than healthy soils. E.C was confirmed to be was higher in diseased soils than healthy soils except for the one cultivated for 2 years. The contents of T-N and available $P_2O_5$ were higher in diseased soil except for the one cultivated for 5 years and 11 years. The exchangeable cation K and Na tended to be higher in diseased soils rather than that in healthy soils, and the exchangeable cation Ca and Mg contents were higher in healthy soils than in diseased soils. The C.E.C of the soil was lower than that of healthy soils in all of the years except for the one which was cultivated for 5 years (transplanted).

It has been generally recognized that conventional binomial or Poisson model provides poor fits to the actual correlated binary data due to the extra-binomial variation. A number of generalized statistical models have been proposed to account for this additional variation. Among them, beta-binomial, correlated-binomial, and modified-binomial models are binomial-related models which are frequently used in modeling the sum of n correlated binary data. In many situations, it is reasonable to assume that n correlated binary data are exchangeable, which is a special case of correlated binary data. The sum of n exchangeable correlated binary data is modeled relatively well when the above three binomial-related models are applied. But the estimation results of correlation coefficient turn to be quite different. Hence, it is important to identify which model provides better estimates of model parameters(success probability, correlation coefficient). For this purpose, a small-scale simulation study is performed to compare the behavior of above three models.
Seasonal changes of the soil nutrient contents and aboveground biomass, relationship between the soil nutrients and the productivity, and the net efficiencies of solar energy conversion were studied in two reeed communities (Phragmites communis Trin.) at the salt marsh in the estuary of the Sumjin-River from April 30 to October 9, 1981. The inorganic nutrients such as exchangeable sodium and potassium of soil were decreased during growing season. The amounts of organic matter, exchangeable sodium and potassium, total nitrogen, and available phosphorus in stand $\prod$ were much more than those of stand $\coprod$ . Productivity of Phragmites communis was positively correlated with the soil nutrients such as available phosphorus, exchangeable potassium and total nitrogen. The maximum dry matter productions of the aboveground parts in stand $\prod$ stand $\coprod$ were $ 1, 120g/m^2; and; 843g/m^2$ in August, and the net coversion efficiencies of PhAR based on growing season (April to September) were 1.77% and 1.33%, respectively.
Comparisons of the physico-chemical properties of earthworm(Lumbricus terrestris) soil casts and top soil of red pine forests in a limestone area were carried out. The casts production durign August and September in 1990 amounted to 6∼7t/ha. The particle of top soil and casts ranged 40∼50% and 10∼20% for sand , 25∼30% and 30∼35% for silt, and 20∼25% and 55∼65% clay, respectively. Significant difference in pH value was not observed between casts and top soil. The casts had 1.4times of organic matter, 1.5times of N, 1.8times of available P, 2times of exchangeable K, 1.3times of exchangeable Ca, and 1.6times of exchangeable Mg than the top 10cm of soil did. Earthworms have altered the soil texture and increased nutrient availability through production of the soil casts in this limestone area.
In this paper, stochastic scheduling problems are considered when processing times and due dates follow arbitrary distributions and due dates are either common or exchangeable. For maximizing the expected number of early jobs, two policies, one, based on pairwise comparisons of the processing times, and the other, based on survivabilities, are introduced. In addition, it is shown that the former guarantees optimal solutions when the processing times and due dates are deterministic and that the latter guarantees optimal solutions when the due dates follow exponential distributions. Then a new approach, exploiting the two policies, is proposed and analyzed which turns out to give better job sequences in many situations. In fact, the new approach guarantees optimal solutions both when the processing times and due dates are deterministic and when the due dates follow exponential distributions.
In the moor of Mt. Dae-am, the following communities are seen in successive order ranging from the north to the south; the Sanguisorba Argutipens-Carex jaluensis community, the Carex jaluensis-Sanguisorba Argutipens-Sphagnum community, the Sphagnum cymbifolium-Carex jaluensis community, the Carex jaluensis-Sanguisorba Argutipens community and the Calamgrostis Langsdorfii-Ottelia alismoides community. The properties of the peats vary according to the community type, that is, nutrients such as organic matter, total nitrogen, exchangeable K and Mg in the soil tend to decrease as the plant communities shift from the north to the south. The pH range for eleven stations samples was 3.9 to 5.7, and the meadian is 4.6. The content of exchangeable Ca decreases from station to station successively towards the center which is poor in calcium. Presumably there appears to be a clear correlation of Sphagnum cymbifolium with the amount of exchangeable Ca and value of pH produced in bogs by the breakdown or organic residures. The nutrient content of the representative plants of the moor shows no definite relation with the station of their habitats.
This experiment was conducted to examined the effects of the physico-chemical and mineral-logical properties of paddy soil on the desorption of $Cs^{137}$ from radionuclide, $Cs^{137}$ absorbed soils. 1. Adsorption of $Cs^{137}$ by paddy soil was very much and exchangeable fraction of $Cs^{137}$ extracted by ammonium acetate was very high compared to the water soluble fraction. Exchangeable fraction of $Cs^{137}$ in paddy soil decreased with the increase of potassium application and increased proportionally with the increase of $Cs^{137}$ treatment. 2. The distribution of several forms of $Cs^{137}$ in soils depend on the soil type. Average-distribution rates of water soluble, exchangeable and non-exchangeable fractions of $Cs^{137}$ in soils were 5.9%, 17.1% and 77.0%, respectively. 3. The desorption of $Cs^{137}$ from adsorbed soils decreased with increase of pH and exchangeable cations of the soils, but it increased as organic matter and clay content increase in soil. 4. Non-exchangeable adsorption of $Cs^{137}$ was high in the soils of which both Illite and Vermiculite were dominant.
Soil environmental conditions can affect nutrient availability during growth stage of tree fruit. We investigated the cause of disorderd fruit by the influence of soil chemical properties in orchard soil, composition of mineral nutrient in leaves and fruit to occur physiological disorderd fruit at four locations (Ulsan, Gyeongju, Pyeongtaek, Ansung) compared to healthy. There were significantly different (P=0.05) in exchangeable Ca, K, Mg and total nitrogen content in orchard soil between physiological disordered fruit and healthy fruit. The exchangeable Ca content in orchard soil caused by physiological disordered fruit was statistically lower than that of healthy fruit. However, exchangeable K, Mg and total nitrogen contents were higher than that healthy (P=0.05). There was a significant difference (P=0.05) in Ca content between physiological disordered fruit and healthy. Ca content in fruit flesh of physiological disorderedfruit was statistically lower than that of healthy. The physiological disordered fruit was a higher ratio of Mg/Ca in fruit flesh and peel compared to healthy fruit and also the ratios of N/Ca and K/Ca in a leaf were higher. The negative correlation between Ca and K, and Ca and Mg was detected in the fruit flesh of physiological disordered fruit. Therefore, we concluded that insufficient Ca content in fruit may cause 'the physiological disorder' pomelo disease and high content of N, exchangeable K and Mg ion in the soil solution might be disturbs exchangeable Ca ion to be absorbed in fruit.
The chemistry of porewater and exchangeable nutrients of sediment was determined to define potential influence of sediment nutrients on the water quality and the phytoplankton growth in Taechong Reservoir in March and May of 2000. The sediment-water interface showed almost anoxic state, < 0.5 mg $O_2/l$. Conductivity of the porewater was higher 1.9${\sim}$2.6 fold than that of sediment, and its variation was greater in the shallow water. Eh ranged from -12mV to -148 mV and bulk density from $1.17\;g/cm^3$ to $1.30\;g/cm^3$ and they did not differ among stations. The water content in the sediment ranged from 58% to 72% and organics from 8% to 13%, and they were higher toward the lower part of reservoir. Soil texture was in the order of sand>clay>silt and sandy sediment accounted for 97% of the total sediment. The total bacterial numbers and diatom abundance were high in the downstream of the reservoir. In porewater and exchangeable nutrients of sediment, nitrogen and phosphorus were mostly consist of the particulate form. Inorganic nitrogen was mostly composed of $NH_4$. Nitrogen of porewater was mostly an inorganic form while exchangeable nutrients were composed an organic form. However, phosphorus was composed of dissolved organic fraction in the porewater while inorganic fraction in the exchangeable nutrients. Silicon content of sediment was much exchangeable nutrients with 63%, and it was higher than in the porewater. In summary, the sediments of Taechong Reservoir were mostly composed of organics and assessed to be a eutrophic state.
This study was carried out to investigate the effect of mine activity on paddy fields, agricultural water, and plants in the ruined Oksung Cu-Zn mine area. Soil samples collected from paddy fields adjacent to the Cu-Zn mine sites were sequentially extracted and determined the contents of heavy metals such as Cd, Zn, Cu, Pb, Cr and Ni. Distribution of exchangeable heavy metals in soils was 30.2% of Cd, 11.3% of Zn, 2.2% of Cu, 4.6% of Cr, 0.6% of Pb and 3.9% of Ni. Water soluble heavy metals were only detected with Zn. The contents of heavy metals in water collected from the mine were 0.01 of Cd, 27.35 of Zn, 4.86 of Cu, 1.04 of Pb, 0.03 of Cr and $0.08mg\;L^{-1}$ of Ni. while the contents in waler collected out of the mine were 16.67 of Zn, 0.59 of Cu, 0.49 of Pb, 0.05 of Cr and $0.06mg\;L^{-1}$ of Ni. On the other hand, agricultural water near mine area were 1.26 of Zn, 0.05 of Cu, 0.05 of Pb and $0.02mg\;L^{-1}$ of Ni. Both Cd and Cr were not detected in the agricultural water.
