데이터 방송 애플리케이션의 효율적 다운로드를 지원하는 리턴 채널 활용 기법 (A Scheme for Return Channel Utilization for Efficient Download of Data Broadcasting Applications)

  • 기존 데이터 방송 시스템은 수신 단말이 완전한 애플리케이션 데이터를 획득하지 못한 경우 반복적으로 방송 애플리케이션 데이터 전체를 다운로드하는 매커니즘을 가지고 있다. 이 방식은 다운로드 시간이 길어지는 요인이 된다. 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위해 본 논문은 리턴 채널을 활용하여 누락된 방송 애플리케이션 데이터를 효과적으로 다운로드하는 기법을 제안하고 실험을 통하여 제안된 기법의 비교 성능 평가를 보인다.

  • In this study, lightweight aggregates were developed to see the possible application as a structural uses. For the evaluation purpose, several testings were conducted to compare the physical characteristics between the controlled lightweight aggregates and other lightweight aggregates purchased from different sources. The tests included property changes of fresh concrete and strength characteristics of hardened concrete for both normal and high strength ranges. In addition, a experiment was performed to analyze the freezing and thawing resistance of new lightweight aggregate concrete against other lightweight aggregate concrete against other lightweight aggregate concretes with some experimental parameters such as lightweight aggregates, curing conditions, and water-cement ratio. The test showed that the new lightweight aggregate could be used structural components. Continuous study will be planned for future evaluations.

  • In this research, the relationship between physical measurements and subjective evaluations of floor impact noise in apartment building was quantified by applying the neural network analysis due to its complex and nonlinear characteristics. The neural network analysis was undertaken by setting up L-value, inverse A index, Zwicker parameters and ACF/IACF factors, as input data, which came from the measurements at real suites of apartment building having various sound insulations.   • Auditory experiments based on subjective responses were undertaken for the heavy and light weight impact noises, rubber ball impact noise and real impact noise. Relations between noise levels and subjective evaluations were also investigated. As a result, it was found that the subjective responses of all floor impact noise sources showed a similar trend except real impact noise. The noise class was rated with the range of sensible satisfaction by investigating the various social responses for the floor impact noise. (omitted)

  • The problem of the computation of derivatives arises in various applications of rational Bezier curves. These applications sometimes require the computation of derivative on numerous points. Therefore, many researches have dealt with the representation for the computation of derivatives with the small computation error. This paper compares the performances of the representations for the derivative of rational Bezier curves in the performances. The performance is measured as computation requirements at the pre-processing stage and at the computation stage based on the theoretical derivation of computational bound as well as the experimental verification. Based on this measurement, this paper discusses which representation is preferable in different situations.

  • This paper presents a two-switch boost chopper with a sinewave current shaping and power factor correction scheme, which is applied for driving electronic ballast using high frequency resonant inverter. A working principle of the proposed one-converter type electronic ballast with power factor correction and active filtering schemes is described on the bases of the equivalent circuit of each operation mode, together with operation analysis. The steady-state performance evaluations of this electronic ballast are illustrated and discussed in experiment.

퓨리에 변환을 이용한 지문영상의 개선에 관한 연구 (A study on the fingerpring enhancement using the fourier transform)

  • This study intends to extract the efficient spectrum characteristics of the fingerpriint image in the fourier domain and to apply them for image enhancement. In order to effectively acquire the spectrum characteristics of the fingerprint in the fourier domain, I set up a 1*64 window as a processing unit and, combining various kinds of the record and overlap lengths, made the power spectrum density estimate for each of those combinations. each spectrum characeristic acquired was applied to a re-synthesis process of the fingerprint image, and, through comparisons and evaluations of the resultant images, an improved gray scale image could be obtained. The validity of this algorithm could be confirmed by the comparison and evaluation fo the binary images which were grained on the established method and the one I used in this experiment.

A Simulation Model of Object Movement for Evaluating the Communication Load in Networked Virtual Environments

  • In this paper, we propose a common simulation model that can be reused for different performance evaluations of networked virtual environments. To this end, we analyzed the common features of NVEs, in which multiple regions compose a shared space, and where a user has his/her own interest area. Communication architecture can be client-server or peer-server models. In usual simulations, users move around the world while the number of users varies with the system. Our model provides various simulation parameters to customize the region configuration and user movement pattern. Furthermore, our model introduces a way to mimic a lot of users in a minimal experiment environment. The proposed model is integrated with our network framework, which supports various scalability approaches. We specifically applied our model to the interest management and load distribution schemes to evaluate communication overhead. With the proposed simulation model, a new simulation can be easily designed in a large-scale environment.

  • 본 논문에서는 데크플레이트의 웨브 국부좌굴에 관한 실용적인 내력식을 제안하고자 한다. 실험에서 유추된 해석모델을 이론적으로 규명한 기존의 연구를 바탕으로 내력에 영향을 미치는 주요 변수들을 조사 분석하여 관련 함수들을 유도한다. 각 변수들을 기존의 실험자료와 종합적으로 비교 분석하여 간편한 내력식을 제안한다. 유럽기준 EC 3 부록 Z 에 따른 통계평가로부터 저항 부분안전계수 ${\gamma}_M$ 을 구하며 목표로 하는 값 1.1과 비교되어진다.

A Study on the Optimized Test Condition of Lock-in IR Thermography by Image Processing

  • In this study, it was studies the utilization of LIT(lock-in infrared thermography) which can detect defects in welded parts of ship and offshore structures. Quantitative analysis was used through methods of filtering and texture measurement of image processing techniques to find the optimized experimental condition. We verified reliability in our methods by applying image processing techniques in order to normalize evaluations of comparative images that show phase difference. In addition, low to mid exposure showed good results whereas high exposure did not provide significant results in regards to intensity of light exposure on surface. Lock-in frequency was satisfactory around 0.1 Hz regardless of intensity of light source we had. In addition, having the integration time of thermography camera inversely proportional to intensity of exposed light source during the experiment allowed good outcome of results.
