  • Collaborative filtering is one of popular techniques for personalized recommendation in e-commerce sites. An advantage of collaborative filtering is that the technique can work with sparse evaluation data to predict preference scores of new alternative contents or advertisements. There is, however, no in-depth study about the sparsity effect of customer's evaluation data to the performance of recommendation. In this study, we investigate the sparsity effect and hybrid usages of customers' evaluation data and purchase data using an experiment result. The result of the analysis shows that the performance of recommendation decreases monotonically as the sparsity increases, and also the hybrid usage of two different types of data; customers' evaluation data and purchase data helps to increase the performance of recommendation in sparsity situation.

  • With the rapid development of educational informatization, teaching methods become diversified characteristics, but a large number of information data restrict the evaluation on teaching subject and object in terms of the effect of English education. Therefore, this study adopts the concept of incremental learning and eigenvalue interval algorithm to improve the weighted decision tree, and builds an English education effect evaluation model based on association rules. According to the results, the average accuracy of information classification of the improved decision tree algorithm is 96.18%, the classification error rate can be as low as 0.02%, and the anti-fitting performance is good. The classification error rate between the improved decision tree algorithm and the original decision tree does not exceed 1%. The proposed educational evaluation method can effectively provide early warning of academic situation analysis, and improve the teachers' professional skills in an accelerated manner and perfect the education system.

  • Most of the evaluations of environmental effect of construction of road do not run parallel with the evaluation of the propriety of the business, but it just reviews how to reduce contamination before the beginning of the construction work. This reveals the limitation of the induction of environment friendly development from the fundamental. In this study, a function of GIS spatial analysis for 9 elements of pre-evaluation of environmental effect has been introduced, and a GIS decision making system for environmental effect of a road has been established for an integrated evaluation by using individual evaluation result. By using GIS decision making system for pre-evaluation of environmental effect that has been developed in this study and the GIS data that has been collected, it would be possible to decrease time and money for evaluation as well as fulfill the requirement of objectivity. Therefore, it would be possible to apply for pre-evaluation of environmental effect when deciding on the route of the road at the beginning stage of the construction work. Also, through the system developed in this study, the construction body could easily induce a mutual agreement with the residents by the visual evaluation material, which might result in an evaluation of environmental effect while decreasing time and money at the beginning stage of the construction.

  • The Korean 2nd basic plan for management of high-level radioactive waste presented a plan to manage spent nuclear fuel through dry storage facilities in NPP on-site. For the construction and operation of the facility, it is necessary to develop the monitoring system of the integrity of spent nuclear fuel before operation. NUREG-1536 recommends that the theoretical cask array, typically in the 2×10 array, should account for shadowing effect among the dry storage casks. The objective of this study was to evaluate neutron flux accounting for shadowing effect among dry storage casks. The neutron release rate was evaluated using ORIGEN based on the design basis fuel condition. And the simulation of dry storage casks and evaluation of the shadowing effect were performed using MCNP. Shadowing effect of other dry storage casks was the highest at the center of the dry storage facility of the 2×10 array compared with the outside of the cask. The shadowing effect of neutron flux on the surface among the metal casks was approximately 18% at point 1, 23% at point 2, and 43% at point 3. For the concrete casks, the shadowing effect of neutron flux on the surface was approximately 46% at point 1, 51% at point 2, and 52% at point 3. This means that correction is necessary to monitor the integrity of spent nuclear fuel in each dry storage cask through evaluation of shadowing effect. The results of this study will be used for comparative analysis of neutron measurement data from spent nuclear fuels in dry storage cask. Additionally, the neutron flux evaluation procedure used in this study could be used as the basic data of safety assessment of dry storage cask and development of safety guide.

  • The Purpose of this study is to determine the effect of new generation adolescents' clothing consumption values on their evaluation of clothing products. In the positive analysis, a questionnaire survey was conducted. Particularly, based on Sheth's (1991) theory, a focus group Interview was performed to develop the questionnaire on adolescents' clothing consumption values. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: First, young consumers have different values and clothing purchasing behavior from adults. To be specific, adolescents tended to appreciate fashionable and sensual values among clothing consumption values. Second, it was found that adolescents'personal values and their group-wise clothing consumption values affected their evaluation of clothing products. Such a finding may explain the relationship between value system and purchasing decisions. Namely, adolescents' evaluation of clothing products is affected by their value system. This finding supports the consumer value system suggested by the "expectation-value" theory. Thus, values and clothing products evaluation are neither separated from each other nor unrelated, but they affect each other in an abstract hierarchial structure. After all, through the route model, personal values affect clothing consumption values, which in turn affect clothing products evaluation. Besides, the clothing consumption values are affected by gender directly or indirectly. All in all, some specific indices regarding the abstract and hierarchial consumption values could be offered by analyzing the effects of adolescents' consumption values on their evaluation of clothing products in reference to the external clues of price and trademark manipulated, and thereby, the effects of consumption values on the positive clothing products evaluation could be determined in general.n general.

  • Based on the student evaluation of teaching from 'A' university where students are graded by relative performance, we conducted a research on the effect of course characteristics in student evaluation of teaching. The results show that the score of student evaluation of teaching seems to be higher for those classes with more proportion of male students, higher grades, and smaller class sizes. From these results, we suggest an evaluation model which can control the effect of grade and sex. Also we illustrate the performance of the evaluation model by using a case study.

  • This paper presents the ride comfort analysis of a vehicle based on wavelet transform. Traditionally, the objective evaluation of impact harshness is based on the vibration dose value (VDV) and frequency weighting method. These methods do not consider the damping effect of the suspension system of a vehicle. In this paper, the damping is estimated using wavelet transform based on Morlet mother wavelet and its effect is considered for the subjective evaluation of impact harshness of a car.
