공공도서관 소장자료 현황 분석 - 장서의 주제별 분포 및 노후화 현황 - (Examining the Collection of Public Libraries in Terms of Subject and Currency)

  • 이 연구는 공공도서관의 소장자료를 대상으로 공공도서관 장서의 주제별, 연령별 소장현황을 분석하는데 그 목적이 있다. 소장자료의 주제별, 연령별 분석을 통해 공공도서관 장서의 주제별 분포와 노후화 정도를 파악하고자 하였다. 전국의 423개 공공도서관이 분석대상이었으며, 한국십진분류표(KDC)가 주제별 소장현황분석을 위한 기준으로 사용되었고, 자료의 출판년도가 소장자료의 최신성 혹은 노후화정도 분석을 위한 기준으로 사용되었다. 분석결과, 공공도서관 장서는 주제별 불균형이 심각한 것으로 나타났다. 특히 문학과 사회과학의 비중이 전체 자료의 54.8%를 차지하는 것으로 나타났다. 공공도서관 장서의 최신성은 비교적 우수하였으며, 2000년 이후 발간자료의 소장비율이 전체 자료의 64.9%를 차지하였다.

  • Significant costs to the public and private sectors due to recent extreme wind events have motivated the need for systematic post-hurricane damage data collection and analysis. Current post disaster data are collected by many different interested groups such as government agencies, voluntary disaster relief agencies, representatives of media companies, academicians and companies in the private sector. Each group has an interest in a particular type of data. However, members of each group collect data using different techniques. This disparity in data is not conducive to quantifying damage data and, therefore, inhibits the statistical and spatial description of damage and comparisons of damage among different extreme wind events. The data collection does not allow comparisons of data or results of analyses within a group and also prohibits comparison of damage data and information among different groups. Typically, analyses of data from a given event lead to different conclusion depending upon the definition of damage used by individual investigators and the type of data collected making it difficult for members of groups to compare the results of their analyses with a common language and basis. A formal method of data collection and analysis-within any single group-would allow comparisons to be made among different individuals, hazardous events and eventually among different groups, thus facilitating the management and reduction of damage due to future disaster. This research introduces a definition of damage to single family dwellings, and a common method of data collection and analysis suited for groups interested in regional characterization of damage. The current state-of-data is presented and a method for data collection is recommended based on these existing data collection methods. A fixed-scale damage index is proposed to consider the damage to a dwelling's feature. Finally, the damage index is applied to three dwellings damaged by Hurricane Iniki (1992). The damage index reflects the reduced functionality of a structure as a single family detached dwelling and provides a means to evaluate regional damage due to a single event or to compare damage due to events of different severity. Evaluation of the damage index and the data available support recommendation for future data collection efforts.

종합목록DB를 이용한 국내 대학도서관 서양서 소장 실태 분석 (An Analysis of Korean University Library Holdings of Western Language Books Using a Union Catalog Database)

  • 본 연구는 국내 대학도서관 서양서 장서 개발의 변화를 살펴보기 위해 2003년과 2013년에 출판된 서양서 소장 실태를 KERIS 종합목록을 통해 분석하였다. 이를 위해 새로운 장서 지표로 소장 h-지수, 장서 고유성 지수, 그리고 공통장서 확보율을 제안하고 기본 지표인 종수 및 책수, 그리고 종당 책수와 함께 활용하였다. 분석 결과 2003년에 비해서 2013년에 출판된 서양서의 전체 소장 종수는 16.1% 감소하고 소장 책수는 42.2% 감소하여 소장 책수가 더 크게 감소하였다. 여러 도서관이 공통적으로 소장하는 공통 장서, 또는 기본 장서의 규모를 나타내는 공통장서 확보율은 줄어들었고, 장서고유성은 증가하였다. DDC 주류 중에서는 컴퓨터 관련 도서가 급감한 0XX(총류) 분야의 감소율이 가장 컸다. 도서관별 장서량 측면에서는 2003년에 비해서 2013년 출판도서의 경우에 상위 도서관이 더욱 과점하는 빈익빈 부익부 현상이 심화되었다.

  • The concept of portfolio is rarely understood and used in R&D management field. The conventional management technique in selecting R&D projects is scoring each projects and choosing projects based on the scores which are determined during evaluation. As a collection of good stocks is not necessarily a good stock portfolio, a collection of good R&D projects is not always a good R&D project portfolio. In this paper, framework and practical technique for constructing a R&D project portfolio are introduced. This technique can be easily applied in private and plublic R&D institutes.

  • In this paper, we propose BCMR (Block Classification with Monitor and Restriction) to ensure the isolation and to reduce the interference of blocks between a garbage collection and a wear leveling. The proposed BCMR monitors an endurance variation of blocks during the garbage collection and detects hot blocks by making a restriction condition based on this information. The proposal induces a block classification by its update frequency for the garbage collection and the wear leveling, so we will get a prolonged lifetime of NAND flash memory systems. In a performance evaluation, BCMR prolonged the lifetime of NAND flash memory systems by 3.95%, on average and reduced a standard deviation per block by 7.4%, on average.

  • One of drawbacks of the inertial impactor measurement is the required long sampling time (Keskinen et al., 1992). In a gravimetric method, an impaction substrate must be weighed and placed on the corresponding collection plate before being assembled. After sampling, the inertial impactor is disassembled and the collection plate is weighted again. The sampling time depends on the sampled particle mass because the collected particle mass must be sufficiently high to be measured by a sensitive microbalance. (omitted)

  • In recent European telecommunication base transceiver stations(BTS) a membrane laminated air filter is reported to replace a heat exchanger in order to cool internal digital units of BTS. The concept of using the air filter is for the direct ambient cooling(DAC) of BTSs without heat loss generally found ill the heat exchanger type BTS. In the present study, a performance evaluation experiment was conducted to investigate the pressure drop characteristics with dust loading and the particle collection efficiency of the air filter for the DAC of BTS.

  • The purpose of this study is to form a different evaluation method of academic libraries in Korea. In order to this product life cycle and product portfolio matrix have been used. While they are based upon products and services, their general concept is useful for library managers as they help to distinguish which books have potential for growth. Writer tried to transform them into book life cycle and book portfolio matrix as a tool for assessing the quality of stock on the library shelves. With this method, writer a n.0, ppraised practically the Sociology Collection of Pusan National University Library by the state of usage and classified them into four groups that were development books, growth books, maturity books, and declining books.

  • An electrostatic precipitator (ESP) has a low pressure drop and a high collection efficiency but its collection efficiency can be reduced due to dust accumulation on the collection plates during long-term operations. In order to maintain the initial dust collection efficiency, it is necessary to periodically clean the collection plates. The common cleaning methods are using physical impacts or water sprays. These cleaning methods can lead to damage to the collection plate or generate wastewater. Herein, we implemented an electrodynamic screen (EDS) for ESP cleaning and evaluated its surface cleaning performance of particles. The EDS is an electrostatic system that can electrostatically repel particles on surfaces, allowing it to clean the ESP without causing damage and wastewater generation. Our evaluation included the analysis of the effects of AC voltage characteristics, electrode configuration and environmental conditions on the cleaning performance of the EDS with the aim of achieving effective surface cleaning. It has been demonstrated that activating the EDS cleans up to 65% of the particles on the surface, which indicates about 94% of our target cleaning zone.
