The aim of this descriptive cross-sectional study was determine the effect of critical thinking and clinical decision-making on ethical dilemmas. A survey of dental hygienists residing in Busan and South Gyeongsang, Korea was conducted using convenience sampling between September and December, 2013. A total of 153 responses were used in the final analysis. Data analysis and structural equation modeling were performed with IBM SPSS Statistics(version 21.0) and AMOS(version 18.0) programs. A negative(-) correlation coefficient(-0.37) was observed between critical thinking and ethical dilemmas on statistical analysis, i.e., higher critical thinking led to less ethical dilemmas(p=0.024, CR=-2.264). The values from the structural equation model were ${\chi}^2=98.124$ df=66, GFI=0.919, AGFI=0.871, and RMSEA=0.057. This study proposed a theoretical model in which critical thinking, ethical values, and decision-making skills should be firmly established to effectively respond to specific situations, such as ethical dilemmas, and that greater tendencies for critical thinking led to less ethical dilemmas, thereby demonstrating a negative(-) correlation between the two parameters.

Respect for human life and respect for human rights are basic values which the organized nursing profession has urged its members to adhere to in their service to human beings. This study was designed and carried out to identify ways to reconcile often conflicting basic values in practice. This study focused on ethical dilema experienced by nurses who were caring for political offenders in prison. Concrete case study was presected to show solutions to the problems.

본 연구는 인지양식을 고려한 융복합적 간호윤리수업을 개발하기 위하여 간호학생의 인지양식에 따른 윤리지식, 윤리적 가치관과 수업만족도를 비교하기 위한 조사연구이다. 간호대학생 1학년 149명을 대상으로 간호윤리수업을 4주 동안 12시간 시행한 후 2013년 10월 1일부터 10월 30일까지 설문지를 이용하여 자료를 수집하였고 잠입도형검사로 인지양식을 파악하였다. 대상자의 62.4%가 장의존형 인지양식으로 나타났다. 인지양식과 윤리지식은 졸업한 고등학교 계열에 따라, 윤리적 가치관은 학과 만족도에 따라, 간호윤리수업 만족도는 간호학과지원동기와 학과 만족도에 따라 차이가 있었다. 간호대학생의 인지양식에 따른 윤리지식, 윤리적 가치관은 유의한 차이가 없었다. 그러나 간호윤리수업 만족도는 장의존형 학습자에서 유의하게 높았다. 본 연구의 결과는 간호학과 전공과목에서 인지양식을 활용한 교육프로그램 개발을 위한 기초 자료로 이용될 수 있을 것이다.

연구 배경 : 치과위생사는 보건의료인으로서 윤리성이 강조되고 있으며, 다양한 윤리적 갈등 상황에 효율적으로 대처하기 위하여 합리적 윤리적 가치관 정립이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 윤리 교육 프로그램 및 윤리적 가치관 평가 도구 개발을 위한 기초자료로 활용하고자 한다. 연구 방법 : 2023년 1월 1일부터 1월 15일까지 치과위생사 251명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. SPSS Win 25.0 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도 분석, T-test, one-way ANOVA, chi-square test, 다중회귀분석을 수행하였다. 연구 결과 : 연구대상자의 윤리적 성향은 이상주의 성향이 3.82점으로 상대주의 성향 3.42점보다 높게 나타났으며, 협동자 관계 영역과 치위생 업무 관계 영역에서 절대론자가 의무주의적 입장을 보였다(p<0.001). 윤리적 가치관에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 회귀분석 결과, 윤리적 성향 중 이상주의 성향(β=,444, p=0.000)과 결혼 유무(β=-,123, p=0.035), 직급(β=-.154, p=0.009)이 유의한 관련 요인으로 나타났다. 결론 : 치과위생사의 윤리적 성향을 고려한 윤리 교육 프로그램을 개발하고, 많은 변화와 갈등에 대응할 수 있는 상황 중심적인 윤리 교육을 시행하여 확고한 윤리관을 정립할 수 있도록 구체적인 방안이 모색되어야 할 것이다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was conducted to evaluate the effects of an action learning-based nursing ethics education on the self-assertiveness and ethical values in nursing students. Methods: The study was a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. This study was carried out from October 19 to December 11, 2015. Participants were fifty-six undergraduate nursing students who assigned to either an action learning-based nursing ethics education or traditional lecture. Outcomes were measured assessed self-assertiveness and ethical values using questionnaires. Results: There was a significant improvement in the self-assertiveness in the experimental group who received an action learning-based nursing ethics education than the control group who undertook the traditional lecture (p=.017). However, ethical values were not statistically signigicant between two groups (p=.347). Conclusion: This study demonstrated that an action learning-based nursing ethics education for undergraduate students is very effective in promoting self-assertiveness compared to the traditional lecture.

This study investigated the effects of values towards Korea fair trade coffee consumers upon attitudes and behavioral intentions and verified the moderating effects of ethical consumption consciousness between relationships among values, attitudes and behavioral intentions. A total of 283 data were analyzed for consumers of fair trade coffee residing in Seoul. Structural equation models were used to identify the relationship between the variables. As a result of the analysis, Schwartz (1994)'s 30 value items were factored into four areas: openness to change, self-enhancement, conservation, and self-transcendence. The value of 'self-transcendence' showed a significant positive impact on attitudes toward fair trade coffee, whereas 'openness to change' had a significant negative impact. Positive attitude toward fair trade coffee showed a significant impact on intentions to buy fair trade coffee. In addition, a moderating effect of ethical consumption consciousness between attitude and behavioral intention was found. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.

This study aims to determine the behavior of consumer interest in sustainable fashion products in Indonesia and the factors that influence it. Personal values, Green Trust, and attitude toward green products are studied to get a proper picture of the ethical behavior of consumers. The method used is the Structural Equation Model (SEM) technique using AMOS 23 software. A sample of 103 participants used the convenience sampling technique. The study results show that green trust and attitude toward green products successfully mediate personal value and green purchase intention on ethical fashion products in Indonesia. In this study, it was found that personal values cannot directly influence the purchase intention of sustainable fashion products. The influence of Personal Value must first be mediated by green trust or attitude toward green products to further influence green purchase intention of ethical fashion products in Indonesia. This is not in line with previous studies. Indicators of personal values such as self-transcendence, self-enhancement, conservation, and openness directly cannot predict the behavior of purchase intentions for sustainable fashion products in Indonesia. From the descriptive conclusion of the data obtained, there are various types of meanings of individual values, and fashion consumers in Indonesia are more affected by contextual factors.

Purpose: This descriptive cross-sectional study aimed to examine the influence of nurses' moral sensitivity and ethical values on their biomedical ethics awareness. Methods: The study participants included 140 registered nurses working at three hospitals in Jeollabuk-do Province over six months. The data were collected from June 22 to July 3, 2020, and were analyzed using descriptive statistics, an independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression analysis with the IBM SPSS/WIN 20.0 program. Results: As a result of an analysis using stepwise multiple regression, nurses' biomedical ethics awareness was found to be significantly influenced by ethical values (β=.36, p<.001), moral sensitivity (β=.21, p=.007), and education in biomedical ethics (β=.16, p=.042) (adjusted R²=.21, p<.001). Conclusion: These findings suggest that moral sensitivity and ethical values are key factors in hospital nurses' development of biomedical ethics. Furthermore, the devising and implementing of a practical education program based on practical cases in medical situations to enhance nurses' biomedical ethics awareness is needed.

본 연구는 한국 간호학생의 간호전문직관, 생명 및 죽음윤리의식간의 관계를 확인하기 위함이다. 편의추출에 의해 총 284명의 간호 대학생을 모집하였고 횡단연구방법을 적용하였다. 간호전문직관은 직업관(p<.001), 윤리인식(p<.001), 윤리적 가치관(p<.001)에 통계적으로 유의하였고, 죽음윤리의식은 윤리교육 여부(p<.05)와 윤리적 가치관(p<.05)에 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 간호전문직관과 생명 및 죽음윤리의식 간에는 강한 양의 상관관계가 있었으며, 간호직업관에 유의한 예측변수는 죽음윤리인식으로 설명력은 15.0%이었다. 본 연구결과는 간호 학생의 간호전문직관, 생명 및 죽음윤리의식의 가치를 이해하는데 도움이 될 것이다.

Purpose: This paper aimed to examine the ethical considerations that are the basis for many functions in the healthcare field. The key ethical values in global health, as well as future considerations imperative to this area, were observed. Research design, data and methodology: The current study utilized the past literature studies that were examined in the field of global health. An overview of the role of ethics in the healthcare field, as well as important considerations that needed to be taken into account in order to provide advancements in this area, were investigated. Results: Ethics are an important set of principles that guides humankind into the right conduct or action to better society and each other. Ethical values are one of the pinnacle points for any healthcare provider, as healthcare is not only considered from the aspect of patient health and well-being, but also in its role of keeping ethical guidelines to achieve the best possible care for a patient. Conclusions: A comprehensive understanding of healthcare is needed in order to tackle next generational challenges in global health. These ethical considerations will inevitably play a significant role in harnessing the patient-healthcare professional relationships as well as care for the shortening of a global disparity on healthcare.
