필라멘트 와인딩 공법으로 제작한 탄소섬유/에폭시 복합소재 평판의 저속 낙하 충격시험 시뮬레이션에 관한 연구 (Stundy on Simulation Characteristics of Low Velocity Impact Test of Carbon/Epoxy Composite Plates Manufactured by Filament Winding Method)

  • Carbon fiber/epoxy composites are typical brittle materials and have low impact properties. Recently, it is important to investigate impact characteristics of carbon fiber composites because of increasing use as automobile parts and high pressure hydrogen vessels of fuel cell electric vehicles for light weight. In this study, the low velocity impact properties of carbon fiber/epoxy composites fabricated by a filament winding method are studied. The low velocity impact properties were measured by performing tests according to ASTM D7136. The low velocity impact simulations were carried out using commercial structural analysis software, Abaqus. The absorbed energy and the delamination shapes were compared between the experimental and simulation results. The numerical analysis method showed that the absorbed energy decreased with the reduced number of cohesive elements in the composite models.

수지 혼합비가 FRMLs의 피로균열전파거동과 기계적 성질에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Study on the Effect of Resin Mixture Ratios on the Fatigue Crack Propagation Behavior and Mechanical Property in a FRMLs)

  • FRMLs(Fiber Reinforced Metal Laminates) is a new type of hybrid materials. FRMLs consists of high strength metal and fiber which are laminated using a structural adhesive bond(epoxy resin). The effect of resin mixture ratios on the fatigue crack propagation behavior and mechanical property of Aramid fiber reinforced aluminum composites was investigated. The epoxy, diglycidylether of bisphenol A(DGEBA) was cured with methylene dianiline(MDA) with or without accelerator(K-54). Eight kinds of resin mixture ratio were tested for the experiment ; five kinds of FRMLs(1))epoxy & curing agent) and three kinds of FRMLs(2)(epoxy & curing agent & accelerator). FRMLs(2) have a more effective characteristics on the fatigue crack propagation behavior and mechanical property than FRMLs(1)

철도차량용 폐 복합소재에서의 탄소섬유 회수 (The Recovery of Carbon Fiber from Carbon Fiber Reinforced Epoxy Composites for Train Body)

  • Recently, the amount of thermosetting plastic wastes have increased with the production of reinforced plastic composites and causes serious environmental problems. The epoxy composites, one of the versatile thermosetting plastics with excellent properties, cannot be melted down and remolded as what is done in the thermoplastic industry. In this research, a series of experiments that recovers carbon fibers from carbon fiber reinforced epoxy composites for train body was performed. We experimentally examined various decomposition processes and compared their decomposition efficiencies and mechanical property of recovered carbon fibers. For the prevention of tangle of recovered carbon fibers, each composites specimen was fixed with a Teflon supporter and no mechanical mixing was applied. Decomposition products were analyzed by scanning electron microscope (SEM), gas chromatography mass spectrometer (GC-MS), and universal testing machine (UTM). Carbon fibers could be completely recovered from decomposition process using nitric acid aqueous solution, liquid-phase thermal cracking and pyrolysis. The tensile strength losses of the recovered carbon fibers were less than 4%.

  • Recently, super fiber reinforced composite materials are widely used in many industries due to high mechanical properties. In this study, 2 different types of composite materials were manufactured in order to compare their mechanical properties. Carbon and Aramid fibers were used for reinforcement materials and Bisphenol-A type epoxy resin was for matrix. Two kinds of fiber-reinforced materials were manufactured by RIM(Resin Injection Molding) method. Before manufacturing composite materials, the optimal manufacturing and curing process condition were established and the ratio of reinforcement to epoxy resin was discussed. FT-IR analysis was conducted to clarify the structure of epoxy resin. Thermal and mechanical property test were also carried out. The cross-section of composite materials was observed using a scanning electron microscope(SEM).

  • Recently, it is required to develop a monitoring technology that combines an FBG sensor as a means for continuously monitoring whether reinforcing effect of FRP is maintained on FRP reinforced structural members. However, most existing researches focus on the insertion of FBG sensors into bar-shaped FRPs, and there is insufficient study on the details strip-type FRPs combined with FBG sensors. Therefore, in this paper, it is studied to develop a reinforcement in which a FBG sensor is combined with a FRP strip. Especially, combination of FRP and FBG sensor. For this, a series of experiments were performed to find the adhesive strength of fiber-FRP-epoxy joints, the tensile strength of FBG sensor part with reflection-lattice, and the performance depending on the connection method of FRF and FBG sensor. As a result of the study, it was found that a minimum strength of $216.15N/mm^2$ is required for incorporating FBG sensors in FRP using epoxy. It is considered that the adhesion length of epoxy joints should be more than 50mm. When the FBG sensor is attached to the FRP strip as an epoxy, it is considered appropriate to use the complete attachment and the sensor non-attachment method.

  • 기존 아민계 경화제를 사용해 액정 에폭시를 경화할 경우, 랜덤 한 3차원 네트워크 구조의 생성으로 인해 phonon의 산란이 많이 발생하기 때문에 열전도도가 낮게 나타났다. 이러한 문제를 mesogen그룹을 적층된 구조로 형성하는 양이온 개시제를 이용하여 해결하기 위해 본 연구에서는 아민계 경화제와 양이온 개시제를 사용한 에폭시의 TGA분석(Thermogravimetric Analysis)을 통해 등온 열분해 활성화에너지를 조사하여 열적안정성을 비교하였다. 양이온 개시제를 이용한 에폭시의 경우 활성화가 에너지가 높았으며 기존 실험과 비교했을 때, 열적안정성은 열전도도와 비슷한 양상을 보인다.

철도차량 대차 적용 유리섬유/에폭시 4-매 주자직 적층 복합재의 인장-압축 피로특성 평가 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation of Tension-Compression Fatigue Characteristics of Glass Fiber/Epoxy 4-Harness Satin Woven Laminate Composite for the Railway Bogie Application)

  • 본 논문은 철도차량 경량화 재질로 적용된 유리섬유/에폭시 4-매 주자직 적층 복합재료의 인장-압축 피로특성을 평가하였다. 유리섬유/에폭시 4-매 주자직 적층 복합재료의 인장-압축 피로시험은 경사, 위사 그리고 ${\pm}45^{\circ}$ 방향으로 적층된 시험편에 대하여 수행하였다. 인장-압축 피로시험은 5Hz의 주파수를 갖으며, 응력비(R)는 -1로 수행하였다. 인장-압축 피로시험 수행 시 압축하중에 의한 시험편의 좌굴을 방지하기 위하여 좌굴방지지그를 설계하고 이를 시험에 적용하였다. 또한, Goodman 선도는 유리섬유/에폭시 4-매 주자직 적층 복합재의 피로특성과 수명을 평가하기 위해 사용하였다. 유리섬유/에폭시 4-매 주자직 적층 복합재료의 인장-압축 피로시험결과 경사방향 적층 복합재의 피로특성이 기존 금속재 대차에 적용되는 SM490에 비하여 우수한 것으로 나타났다.

에폭시 배합비에 따른 내열성 복합재료 최적조건 (Optimum Mixing Ratio of Epoxy for Glass Fiber Reinforced Composites with High Thermal Stability)

  • 2개 이상의 에폭시 기지재의 배합비를 이용하여 최적의 에폭시 복합재료를 제조하였다. 이 실험에서 노볼락계 에폭시 및 아이소시아네이트계 에폭시를 기지재로 사용하였다. 그에 따라 화학적 조성의 변화를 이용하여 다양한 실험을 통한 최적의 에폭시 배합비를 유추하였고, 에폭시의 내열성 및 계면을 파악하기 위하여 열중량측정기를 이용하여 유리전이온도의 변화를 파악하였고 정적 접촉각을 측정하였다. 기계적 물성을 파악하기 위하여 에폭시 배합비에 따른 유리섬유/에폭시 복합재료의 인장, 압축, 굴곡강도를 상온에서 및 노화시간에 따라 파악하였다. 에폭시와 유리섬유간 계면을 개념도로 나타냈다. 시험 결과 에폭시 배합비에 따른 적외선 피크 및 유리전이온도 변화를 확인하였다. 서로 다른 에폭시의 배합비가 1:1일 때 기계적물성이 상대적으로 좋은 것을 확인하였다.
