The consciousness of environmental education has increased for the last decades, and schools make efforts for education in the systematic environment. To keep pace with trends such as the open school and the open class, students, teachers and parents are actively participating in environmental education programs. Parents' active participate in environmental education programs will provide excellent basis to operate environmental education efficiently and advise fruitful operation of environmental education programs. In addition, as parents play an important role of deciding the students' life habits or attitudes about environment, their participation is greatly meaningful. This study was conducted to 203 fourth and fifth graders in M elementary school in Ulsan city that operated the model school for protecting the forest from March to December, 2009 and their parents in order to examine the effects of parents' participation in environmental education programs, and the results are as follows. First, the student group with parents who participated in environmental education programs showed higher interest in surrounding environment of the school. Second, the student group with parents who participated in environmental education programs showed higher environment sensitiveness and environmental practice intention. Third, the parent group who participated in environmental education programs showed higher environmental sensitiveness and environmental practice intention. Fourth, the parent group who participated in environmental education programs showed higher satisfaction about the program. As the result of the study, environmental education programs with parents' participation attracted their active interest and participation about school environment problems, and a lot of conversation and attention between students and parents who participated in environmental education programs improved the students and their parents' environmental sensitiveness and environmental practice intention.
The purpose of this study was to investigate whether elementary school parents' environmental literacy varied according to independent variables, to verify specific variables that affected their environmental literacy, and to analyze the correlation between elementary school students' and their parents' environmental literacy. Twelve elementary schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi-Do were chosen for purposive sampling. 342 questionnaires were used for analysis among the 350 questionnaires collected during the study, and their environmental literacy was measured through 55 questions consisted of 12 items for knowledge category, 22 for attitude category, 5 for behavior category, and 3 for skills category with 16 demographic variables. Statistical analysis was conducted on each of the variables that make up environmental literacy through mean t-test, F-distribution, Scheffe test, and Pearson correlation. The results of this study were as follows. (1) there is the difference according to age and career in parent's actual environmental literacy, but there is no difference in geneder, birthplace, residential type, religion and income. The parents in forties scored significantly higher than parents in thirties in subdomains of environmental skill and environmental interest in environmental literacy. And the parents with bachelor's degree scored significantly higher than parents with at least a high school diploma in subdomains of ecological knowledge, knowledge on environmental problems & issue, environmental skill and environmental behavior. (2) the most influential media on parents' environmental literacy is TV, then newspaper, internet and book follow. (3) the correlation between environmental crisis and environmental interest is the highest, but the mainly negative correlation is analysed between knowledge subdomains and other subdomains. (4) there is the correlation between elementary school students' and their parents' environmental literacy.
Recently, Korea's interest in environment protection is increasingly growing, and Korea realizes the seriousness of environmental pollution and national movement to minimize the effect is arising. As part of the movement, the need of environmental education in elementary schools is on the rise. This study aims to develop integrated environmental experience programs allowing students to have experience activities in forests, rivers, and seas that they can approach easily around them and to have environmental education through various plays. In addition, the study purposes to compare general educational education programs in actual education in terms of the effect of the program on students' environment attitudes. This study was conducted to 50 fourth graders in two classes of S elementary school in Busan, and the 25-student comparative group had the normal educational education program that is mostly being performed in actual education while the 25-student treatment group had the survey on environmental attitude after a class using an integrated environmental experience program. The survey content is about environmental attitudes, and it consists of six subjects such as general environment, environmental pollution, energy, water resources, recycling, and animal protection and has 7 or 8 items by each subject which is divided into eight sub-items including sensibility, belief, values, spontaneity, criticism, patience, attention and interest. The findings are as follows. First, the integrated environmental experience program has a more positive effect on environmental attitudes than the general educational program. In particular, it is really effective about the topic of animal protection among students' environmental attitudes. Second, the integrated environmental experience program has a more positive effect on values and interests than the general environmental education program.

The purpose of this study was to clarify the effects of the environmental education system focusing on the knowledge, attitude and practice in relation to environmental education to the students in Mokpo middle school. The study is accomplished by the survey which includes a total of 268 inquiry lists sampled from four groups of the middle school, one of which composing of two middle schools having the environmental curriculum, hereafter referred as 'the case group' and the other group of two middle schools without the curriculum, hereafter referred as the 'the control group'. From the results of the average scores on the environmental knowledge, attitude and practice between the two groups, the case group showed better knowledge scores than the control group (p<0.05). The case group with environmental education were relatively high to the control group without environmental education to the attitude(p<0.05), and did not showed signifiant differences in the environmental practice. From the results of stepwise multiple regression analysis, the factor affecting the environmental knowledges was the interest in the environment problems ($R^2=0.130$), economic status, academic achievement and the necessity of environment conservations in order. The factor most affecting to environmental attitude and practice were the interest in environmental problems of the parents.

This study was carried out to find the effects of aromatherapy using natural fragrance on reducing stress and improving job satisfaction of transportation workers in the taxi industry. A total of 120 workers were divided into the experimental group and the control group according to the inhalation of the fragrance and tested for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, the difference of emotional change, stress analysis, and evaluation of job satisfaction according to aromatherapy were compared between the two groups. The result showed that the experimental group had a higher interest in scent products than the control group and that they wanted to encounter a lot of real scents, indicating that aromatherapy caused positive interest in general scent likability. In addition, the experimental group said that the inhalation of fragrance would refresh the feeling of the passengers in the vehicle and smoothly communicate with the passengers. Especially, it showed a significant difference between the two groups in terms of tension relief, pleasure and good mood by inhalation of fragrance, indicating the positive effect on job satisfaction.

The site of interest is a residence redevelopment area which has excavation construction with cut-off walls. The site is located over Dong-Mang-Bong tunnel and Seoul No. 6 subway tunnel. This study analyzed numerically the influence of vibrations from No. 6 subway tunnel to the basement of the redeveloped apartment away from the distance about 11m. Kyoung-bu highspeed railway's time history model with linearly reduced maximum acceleration is applied to take into the subway maximum speed of 75km/h. The maximum velocity of vibration for the cross section of the interest was estimated as 0.28cm/sec which satisfied the allowable standard of 0.5cm/sec for apartment and residence of Seoul.
Gardens are known to provide relaxation, including psychological stability and mental rest. Recently, social interest in gardens has been growing in various ways, including the increase of groups sensitive to environmental pollution and a rising interest in the overall management of natural resources. In reality, however, the owners of housing gardens lack fundamental knowledge for creating and maintaining the gardens, directly and indirectly. This limitation presents a number of problems and challenges. Therefore, this study conducted an analysis of various aspects relating to the creation and maintenance of housing gardens, reflecting the sense of ownership. The study aimed to examine the current status, and based on this, it was intended to present improvement measures for practical and efficient creation of housing gardens and their maintenance in the future.
Bioenergy can be obtained from various forms of biomass such as agricultural, food processing, and municipal wastes. Recently, its importance is recognized more seriously because of its positive impacts on economic and stable energy supply and environmental sustainability. Despite its advantages, bioenergy has not been used as much as it was expected, nor has it been developed to the level of attractive commercialization in energy market. The main reasons for the sluggish progress have been analyzed by comparing the bioenergy policies in Korea and U.S.A. Both Korea and U.S. governments have recognized the importance of bioenergy and put in various efforts to promote the use of bioenergy. Both governments have legislated alternative energy promotion plans that support R&D, tax reduction, rewards, and low interest loans. However, it is suggested that the bioenergy policy and plan juxtapose the financial supports (R&D, tax exemption, low interest loan, education, etc.) with strong mandates and obligations. Although imposing strong mandates prerequisites the economically attractive and feasible technologies, it can motivate and speed up more effective technology development, in turn. In addition, the bioenergy R&D support must include studies on commercialization and marketing as well as process development. R&D on the socioeconomic effects of bioenergy should also be supported. Lastly, decision making processes for the bioenergy policy, and for alternative energy overall, must include environmental agencies for taking advantage of environmental benefits of bioenergy.
As environmental problems such as global warming, and ecocide have a great influence on society, the attention to environmental pollution is being expanded. To solve the environmental problems, the awareness and practice of members of society in question is required. However, it has been found that few people are participating in practising environmental protection in real life. Our main goals are to show that Gamification has great potential in delivering messages for public interest and to suggest guidelines for researchers and public contents developers who engage in designing in relation to Gamification. Based on the domestic and foreign theoretical investigations, we found that Gamification mechanism made based on psychological mechanism of users aims at public interests' value by maximizing motivations of users and spreading social relationships among people. As shown in the case study, if contents are developed by reflecting the elements which stimulate challenging of users, the elements which can express their opinions, and the elements of altruism which form the sympathy in the development of public interest contents in the future, practical participation of people to solve social problems can be expected.
Recently, the interest in artificial environment made by mankind as well as natural environment has been increased. This interest in the environment began to be reflected in the physical education, which environmental problems affect modern people's living quality as a crucial factor affecting directly or indirectly our life. Furthermore, since we entered the era of mass sports the physical education subject has dealt with destruction of natural environment by constructing golf courses, ski slopes, etc., destruction of ecosystem by water sports, mountaineering sports, aero sports, etc., and noise pollution near the sport facilities. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to examine the means to reinforce environmental education in many ways in the physical education concerning environmental problems. For this purpose this paper analyzed the contents of the 7th curriculum for physical education which can be thought to be teaching materials for environmental education, and described the contents in detail. Also, this paper established the orientation and goals of environmental education in the physical education subject and examined some important teaching and learning methods. In addition, this paper suggested some considerations concerning environmental education and a textbook model for the development of physical education textbooks connecting with the 7th curriculum for physical education, which is to suggest a means to connect physical education with environmental education smoothly. The physical education has an attribute that its activities like swimming, climbing mountains, and camping are performed outdoor. The physical activities in the physical education are, of course, performed in the environment, so we had better implement the environmental education including such physical activities at the same time with physical education. Also, there should be efforts so that the education through environment, the education about environment, and the education in the environment can be implemented along with the physical education.
