This study focused on the analysis of residential satisfaction and environment awareness depending on the environment-friendly level on the outdoor space of the housing complexes. The purpose of this study is to present basic materials of the environment-friendly outdoor space planning of housing complexes. The major findings of the study are as follows. First, the results of the comparative analysis of the satisfaction of the outdoor space of apartment complexes show that the complexes with the most application of environment-friendly elements had higher residential satisfaction. But there was no meaningful statistical difference between the complexes with the higher level of application of the environment-friendly elements and the complexes with medium level of application. Secondly, according to a comparative analysis, the overall residential satisfaction of the apartment complexes was the same as the residential satisfaction of the outdoor space. Thirdly, the results of the correlative analysis of residential satisfaction and environmental awareness showed that the satisfaction of the apartment complexes decreases as the awareness of the environment-friendly apartment complex increases. The results of this study can be used as basic materials for environment-friendly outdoor space planning of apartment complexes.

The purpose of this study is to extract the main planning factors of environment friendly apartment complex through the residents' evaluations on importance levels of the planning factors. The major findings of this study are as follows; 1) Understanding on the environment friendly apartment complex is lacking, and the satisfaction level on the living space as the environment friendly apartment is very low. 2) The residents in the low-storied apartments want the introduction of facilities for energy saving, and those in the high-storied apartments demand to develop to green area. 3) In evaluating the importance of the environment friendly planning factors and the image of the apartment complex, the guarantee of green area and the development of water friendly space are closely related with the image of the apartment complex. So, they are the planning factors that should be handled importantly.

Many business enterprises in domestic housing industry are focusing on the development of environment friendly apartment complex to strengthen the competitiveness by upgrading their company's image through differentiation of the qualities and satisfying the customer's needs. Many apartment complex have achieved temporary or real certification by green building certification system, but there weren't enough studies on how much residents are satisfied by their certified complex. In this study, we want to clarify the factors of resident's satisfaction level in certified environment friendly complex by comparing the social and economical characteristics of resident. For this study, we chose and compare 4 environment friendly apartment complex considered to be built by the best environmental way in metropolitan area, and 4 other apartment complex which are also considered to be similar in terms of the condition of location and period of stay.

Considering the present development situation of domestic apartment complexes, the development of environment-friendly apartment complexes is very important issue in Korea. At this point of time, it is very meaningful to understand the domestic development trend and the actual condition of environment-friendly apartment complexes and examine various problems about this and the possibilities fer development. Thus the purpose of this study is to accumulate basic data to establish planning direction and pertinent planning factors or the environment-friendly apartment complex for sustainable development. It is believed that the role of the related aspects such as administration, construction companies, designers and residents must be redefined in order to manage such problem. Planning factors for environment-friendly apartment complex should be developed systematically and more fit to the natural environment and residents in the aspect of district and community.

The purpose of this study is to accumulate basic data to establish planning direction and planning factors for the environment-friendly apartment complex. For this purpose, the survey has been conducted to residents living in an apartment housing and graduate students, architects and research experts in the field. The major findings of this study are as follows; 1) The basic concept of planning factors for environment-friendly apartment complex are energy saving, resources saving, minimizing environment pollution, natural harmony, regional identity and pursuit of residents' health & amenity. 2) For the planning factors of environment-friendly apartment complex, the residents had a great regard for aspect of Low-Impact (energy saving, resources saving, minimizing environment pollution). The experts, on the other hand, had a great regard for aspect of High-contact (natural harmony, regional identity). 3) It was increase of prime cost that the residents and experts regarded as the most important problem of planning and purchasing of environment-friendly apartment. It thus appears that the promotion of environmental consciousness of residents taking in the portion of increased cost is crucial parts and also that the role of the connected aspects such as administration, construction companies and residents must be redefined in order to manage problems caused in process of the development of it.

The purpose of this study is to accumulate basic data to establish planning direction and planning factors for the environment-friendly apartment complex by clarifying general concept and mark of it. For this purpose, the field study has been conducted to the environment-friendly apartment complex in Korea and Japan. The major findings of this study are as follows; 1) The basic concept of planning factors for environment-friendly apartment complex are natural harmony, improvement of residents' health ＆ amenity, energy ＆ resources saving and response to the social change. 2) For Japan, the planning factors and technical elements for the environment-friendly apartment complex were applied in the whole range of apartment complex with various and positive methods. For Korea, on the other hand, application of the planning factors of energy saving, resources saving and minimizing environment pollution was insufficient.

As an apartment house as well as improving quality of life is becoming one of the brands, it is increasing the importance of the outer space with the facilities in the housing complex. In particular, the outdoor playground such as the community facilities that children and adults share as the activity areas for residents has received attention. However, actually children have not used many of Korean apartment housing playgrounds that were installed formally in the scrap area according to the housing plan by residential construction standards. it is considered necessary to improve the quality of the playground in housing complex and reform it in order to make the eco-friendly play space in which children can play safely and h healthily. As an alternative, we analyzed the eco-friendly properties of the playgrounds installed in the eco-friendly housing complex in Germany and derived the main planning elements of eco-friendly playground. In the observational survey of the 10 playgrounds in 9 housing complexes in 5 regions in Germany, we evaluated the environment-friendliness of these playgrounds in the 8 fields(location and placement, ecological environment, play space, play equipment and facilities, additional facilities, materials and resources, energy saving, environmental load reduction) according to the levels(suitable, partial reflection, unsuitable, non-reflection) of reflection of eco-friendly planning factors. The following is the summary of the results about the reflection of eco-friendly planning factors. In terms of "suitable": location and placement(88.8%), play equipment and facilities(73.5%), additional facilities(60.6%), environmental load reduction(54%), and ecological environment(50%) were higher than others. In terms of "unsuitable": there was nothing. In terms of "non-reflection": energy saving(95%), additional facilities(32.2%), and materials and resources(30.9%) were in order. Therefore, on the basis of these results, this study proposed the planning indicators to be considered first and the planning factors that should be complemented and improved in the construction of apartment housing playground in future.

Purpose: Korean society has already entered an aged society but there aren't many evidence-based studies on the elderly-friendly design elements in the apartment environment, which is the main residential type in Korea. The main purpose of this study is to verify the necessity and expandability of the outdoor environment design in the public rental apartment complex through the evaluation of the effectiveness and satisfaction of SMG(Seoul Metropolitan Government) Cognitive Health Design Project in GR 1 apartment complex. Methods: The research subjects were GR 1-complex as experimental group and the nearby Wolgye Deer 1-complex as control group, both public rental apartment and located in Seoul. As a research method, the survey was conducted before and after the implementation of SMG project for residents of the apartment. A total of 200 preliminary surveys and 203 post surveys were conducted. Results: As a result of this study, residents' accidents related safety have decreased, and both the frequency of use and satisfaction of most facilities have increased. It is noteworthy that the increase in cognitive items in the post-survey. Also, 74.5% of the residents evaluated that the complex was better to live after the project was implement. Implications: The fact that the preliminary surveys were not conducted for the same person is considered as the limitation of the study, but it is meaningful in that it systematically assesses the effectiveness of the project on the cognitive health of the outdoor residential environment towards age-friendly city.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the planning of the community spaces for sustainable apartment complex under the aging society. For this, it is needed to identify the practical meaning of community spaces for elderly residents. In many cases, existing apartments' community spaces have been designed without considering the elderly. In order to develop successful environment for aging society, it is necessary for us to precisely review how elderly residents are changing their needs. Survey and depth-interview methods were used for data collection of this study. This study was performed in the five subject apartments located in Haeundae new town, Busan. In planning of community spaces for sustainable apartment complex in the aging society, 1) The population of the elderly in apartment complex has been increased with progress of the aging society, and it has been necessary to enlarge and consider the aging-friendly community space. 2) When the community space is located in a good accessibility, visual openness, multipurpose composition and the center of complex, it was investigated that the degree of its usage was high. 3) Common apartment complex for the elderly was deficient, and the composition and the layout of community spaces were needed, which included sports facility, spaces for leisure culture and study. This study could be utilized as basic data for designing community spaces in apartments from the perspective of sustainable community.
