  • Interest in renewable fuel of recent has increased. Among them, From next year the government announced that it would enforce the RFS. Interest associated with it are concentrated. The RFS, for manufacturers of transportation fuels such as a vehicle, you are a renewable fuel a certain percentage of the fuel supplied. In other words, it refers to a system of mandatory to supply by mixing biofuels. Already in Europe, America and other developed countries to diversify energy sources and subjected Additionally there since ancient times for its rural development by introducing the RFS takes effect coming. Further and inspect to deal with climate change, which is performed via the RFS. Some even are represented by five axis of the sustainability of the RFS.

  • The economic issue of the period of return versus investment has emerged to efficiently utilize the thermal energy of public resource recovery facilities using waste and private thermal source facilities using BIO-SRF. Accordingly, the optimum temperature and pressure facilities are required beyond the traditional designed, constructed and operated. In this study, we analyzed current energy output by different heat and pressure model in domestic facilities, and calculated the characteristics of green-house gas emission. In order to, utilize the thermal energy producing facilities using waste and biomass fuel more efficiently, it is temperature and pressure, which will lead to more lucrative investment and return as well.

  • Pyrolysis of biomass is one of the promising methods to obtain energy and valuable chemical stocks. Fast pyrolysis of Q. acutissima and L. letolepis has been carried out in a bubbling fluidized bed reactor to determine the optimum operating conditions of the pyrolyzer. Effects of reaction temperature, Uo/Umf, L/D ratio, and feed rate have been determined and the optimum conditions are as follows: $T\;=\;400^{\circ}C,\;U_o/U_{mf}\;=\;3.0,\;L/D\;=\;2.0$. Maximum yield of bio-oil was about 55% and the main compositions were carbohydrates, guaiacols, furans, phenols, and syringols. Product gas was consists of CO, $CO_2$, light hydrocarbons and the measured gas yield using the compositions agreed with the calculated value.

  • The 20% Pt/C catalysts were synthesized using the chemical reduction method for polymer electrolyte fuel cell cathode and were heat-treated in the temperature range from 300 to $600^{\circ}C$. The oxygen reduction reaction of the catalysts was evaluated using the electrochemical measurement. The oxygen reduction reaction of the heat-treated Pt/C at $300^{\circ}C$ had high catalytic activity and the oxygen reduction reaction current of that was 2 times than that of non-heat treatment catalyst. It is considered that the change of the crystallinity and particle size by heat treatment could increase the catalytic activity.

  • It comtained various kinds of heavy metal in beneficiatian tailing and in order to eliminate the heavy metals, various technologies have been researched, But there are a limits because many problems and restrictions are accompanied. Therefore, in this study, in order to solve this problem, It was performed gravity separation using melti-gravity seperator (MGS) to remove As contained in tailing, which can sort out even the fine particle. It was attempted a study to remove As, which is a kind of heavy metals, by MGS gravity separation and verified the impact by slope, wash water, pulp density, rotational speed and feed rate. In the results of performing gravity concentration under the condition with the MGS slope of $3^{\circ}$, wash water of 5 l/mm, pulp density of 30%, rotational speed of 208 rpm, and the feed rate of 265.24 g/mm, the As removal rate of 88.21% and yield of 92.25% were obtained.

  • Calcium ferrite is a major bonding material self-fluxed sintered ore, and it is used as a flux in the steelmaking process. Calcium ferrite is more effective binder for making sintered ore and flux for steel making because of it's low melting temperature. In this Study, calcium ferrite was made by using variety industrial by-products from steel plant. The property of calcium ferrites was investigated on the basis of test method using in the cement manufacturing process. Crystal analysis, compression test as well as thermal analysis were carried out to evaluate physical properties of calcium ferrite.

  • Calcium ferrite is more effective binder for making sintered ore and flux for steel making because of it's low melting temperature. In this Study, calcium ferrite was made by calcinating method in the cement manufacturing process in order to reduce manufacturing costs and increase productivity. Limestone and calcination sludge were used as CaO source, steelmaking sludge, blast furnace dust and iron ore were used as Fe-bearing raw materials. The sintering temperature of specimens is in the range of $950{\sim}1170^{\circ}C$. For Calcium ferrite can be used 'binder for making sintered ore' or 'flux for converter/electric furnace' with a low melting point properties, the raw material characteristics and sintering properties were investigated.

  • The 'SSaM-GG'(=Smart, Shared, and Mutual- Green Growth) as the five bottom lines for sustainable development is developed and suggested. Because the name of Green Growth alone is not sufficient for clear conceptualization, implementation. and etc. For the global harmonized usage & application, the Eastern-Western conceptual fusion has been performed, and verified for more than 12 years on the worldwide successes and failures.

  • There are still lots of areas where combined sewer pipes are covering in Seoul. All buildings within those areas are equipping septic tanks which take part in separating solids from flushing water of chamber pots. Septic tanks legally demand emptying and cleaning the those inner bodies once a year, resulting the generation of sludge which should be purified using the specified treatment plants as one of environmental infrastructures. Previous research showed that sludge volume continuously increase putting night soil treatment facilities in shortage by 3,549kL a day in 2020, which should be prepared by newly built facilities. This study aimed to define which process is more suitable especially in the points of cost and energy consumption. It was the main results that combining treatment of sewer with night soil, in fact same as nowaday process, is the very positive way beyond the treatment of night soil's own in respects of both costs and energy consumption.

  • The objective of this research was to evaluate the suitability of sigmoidal and firstorder kinetic equations for simulating the methane production from solid wastes. The sigmoidal kinetic equations used were modified Gompertz and Logistic equations. Statistical criteria used to evaluate equation performance were analysis of goodness-of-fit (Residual sum of squares, Root mean squared error and Akaike's Information Criterion). Akaike's Information Criterion (AIC) was employed to compare goodness-of-fit of equations with same and different numbers of parameters. RSS and RMSE were decreased for first-order kinetic equation with lag-phase time, compared to the first-order kinetic equation without lag-phase time. However, first-order kinetic equations had relatively higher AIC than the sigmoidal kinetic equations. It seemed that the sigmoidal kinetic equations had better goodness-of-fit than the first-order kinetic equations in order to simulate the methane production.
