Recent concern regarding price and availability of fossil fuels has spurred the interest in alternative sources for farm crop drying. Among the available options such as biomass energy, wind power, nuclear energy and solar energy etc., the increasing attention is being directed to the utilization of heat from solar energy especially for farm crop drying. Even though solar energy is dispersed over a large land area and only a relatively small amount of energy can be simply collected, the advantages of solar energy is that the energy is free, non-polluting. The study reported here was designed to help supply the informations for the development of simple and relatively inexpensive solar warehouse for farm crop drying and storage. Specifically, the objectives of this study were to determine the performance of the solar collector fabricated, to compare solar supplemented heat drying with natural air drying and to develop a simulation model of temperature in stored grain, which can be used to study the effects due to changes in ambient air temperature. For those above objectives, solar collector was fabricated from available materials. Corrugated steel galvanized sheet, painted flat black, was used as absorbers and clear 0.2mm polyethylene sheet was the cover material. The warehouse for rough rice drying and storage was constructed with concrete block, and the solar collector was used as the roof of warehouse instead of original roofing system of it. The results obtained in this study were as follows: 1. The thermal efficiency of the solar collector was average 26 percent and the overall heat transfer coefficient of the collector was approximately $25kJ/hr.m^2\;^{\circ}K$. 2. Solar heated air was sufficient to dry one cubic meter of rough rice from 23.5 to 15.0 percent in 7 days and natural air was able to dry the same amount of rough rice from 20.0 to 5 percent in l2 days. 3. Drying with solar heat reduced the required drying time to dry the same amount of rough rice into a half compared to natural air drying, but overdrying problems of the bottom layer were so severe that these problems should be thoroughly analyzed. 4. Simulation model of temperature in stored grain was developed and the results of predicted temperature agreed well with test results. 5. Based on those simulated temperature, changes in the grain-temperature were a large at the points of the wallside and the damage of the grain would be severe at the contact area of wall.

Development of the yarn sorting equipment (khonhook) by slide way due to the principle of engineering that cause of workers on the long of motion time. The data was collected from the weaving group Ban Nongkok village, Nakornratchasima Province, THAILAND. According to the study, the step of yarn sorting (konhook) was one of the steps that affect long of motion time. The problem was the inadequate capacity equipment. The objective of research was to study and develop the yarn sorting equipment (konhook). The fabric used in the study was 64 meters in length and 1 meter in width. Researchers studied the processes the yarn sorting (konhook) which it consists of seven sub steps, 1) the thread tube setting, 2) yarn bunching, 3) tying a knot at the end of yarn, 4) looping the yarn into a pillar, 5) sorting the yarn (konhook), 6) crossing pillars and 7) taking out the yarn. Researchers focused on studying yarn sorting process (konhook) by designing and creating a device for yarn sorting (konhook) for reducing yarn sorting (konhook) time by the original method performance indicators. The results found that the developed yarn sorting equipment (konhook) ) by slide way could reduce working time from 7.24 minutes to 6.08 minutes of the original equipment yarn sorting (konhook). This means it could make the process 16.02 % faster. This also helps reducing the distance of workers' movement from 2,234 meters to 8 meters. This is 99.64 % shorter.

Mankind is enjoying a great convenience of their life by the rapid growth of secondary industry since the Industrial Revolution and it is possible due to the invention of huge power such as engine. The automobile which plays the important role of industrial development and human movement is powered by the Engine Module, and especially Diesel engine is widely used because of mechanical durability and energy efficiency. The main work mechanism of the Diesel engine is composed of inhalation of the organic material (coal, oil, etc.), combustion, explosion and exhaust Cycle process then the carbon compound emissions during the last exhaust process are essential which is known as the major causes of air pollution issues in recent years. In particular, COx, called carbon oxide compound which is composed of a very small size of the particles from several ten to hundred nano meter and they exist as a suspension in the atmosphere. These Diesel particles can be accumulated at the respiratory organs and cause many serious diseases. In order to compensate for the weak point of such a Diesel Engine, the DPF(Diesel Particulate Filter) post-cleaning equipment has been used and it mainly consists of ceramic materials(SiC, Cordierite etc) because of the necessity for the engine system durability on the exposure of high temperature, high pressure and chemical harsh environmental. Ceramic Material filter, but it remains a lot of problems yet, such as limitations of collecting very small particles below micro size, high cost due to difficulties of manufacturing process and low fuel consumption efficiency due to back pressure increase by the small pore structure. This study is to test the possibility of new structure by direct infiltration of SiC Whisker on Carbon felt as the next generation filter and this new filter is expected to improve the above various problems of the Ceramic DPF currently in use and reduction of the cost simultaneously. In this experiment, non-catalytic VS CVD (Vapor-Solid Chemical Vaporized Deposition) system was adopted to keep high mechanical properties of SiC and MTS (Methyl-Trichloro-Silane) gas used as source and H2 gas used as dilute gas. From this, the suitable whisker growth for high performance filter was observed depending on each deposition conditions change (input gas ratio, temperature, mass flow rate etc.).

The purposes of this research and development are as follows: first, to provide pleasant driving environments inside tunnels; second, to improve the current illumination environments lacking in diffusion luminance meters to meet tunnel lighting standards; and, third, to reduce the consumption of tunnel lighting energy accounting for approximately 65% of tunnel maintenance costs because of inadequate visual environments and tunnel operations. Further details are listed below. Firstly, an image luminance meter for tunnels that can implement the L20-method which is a tunnel luminance method that follows the international standards of CIE88, which was developed in order to improve and change the existing illumination-based tunnel lighting operation system to a luminance-based system. (The margin of error of below 5% according to the results of a test by an authorized agency and field test). Secondly, early illumination control is possible since the lighting control system that can be operated based on luminance enables interlocking control of the inside and outside of a tunnel using ethernet communication. Thirdly, guidelines for field application of the system are proposed. In addition, the luminance inducers of tunnels are found and the reflexibility of each facility that may reduce luminance of the boundaries is also proposed. Fourthly, as a result of a test bed, power consumption of luminance-based lighting operations decreased by 15.6% compared to illumination-based operations. Applying the feedback controls and maintenance factors of internal/external luminance meters, it reduced by 36.4%. Therefore, we became able to provide a luminance-based lighting operation system that complies with tunnel lighting design standards and provides a visual environment for drivers.

A recording current meter was deployed in the shallow western part of Deukryang Bay from 1 July to 7 August 1992 during which the wind was weak. Principal component in NNE-SSW direction parallel to the axis of the bay had $98.7\%$ of the total variance and the orthogonal component of only $1.3\%$. Spectral analysis of the principal component revealed that the semidiurnal component comprised about $91.2\%$ of total energy. Whereas the diurnal and longer components were less than $2.5\%$ the shallow water tide was about $6.3\%$ . Weak mean current of 0,8cm/sec in SSE direction implies that the slow circulation in the bay is counterclockwise having the northward net flow in the deep eastern part.
Semi-diurnal internal tides and near-inertial waves are investigated using moored current meter measurements at four sites along the shelf break of the East China Sea during August 1987 and May-June 1988. Each mooring is equipped with four current meters spanning from near surface to near bottom. Spectral analyses of all current data reveal dominant spectra at the semi-diurnal frequency band, where the upper and lower current measurements show out-of-phase relationship between them with significant coherences. These are consistent with typical characteristics of the first-mode semi-diurnal internal tide. Strong intensification of the near-bottom baroclinic currents is observed only at one site, where the ratio of the bottom slope to the slope of the internal-wave characteristics at the semi-diurnal frequency is close to unity. An energetic near-inertial wave event is observed during the first half of May-June 1988 observation at two mooring sites. Rotary spectra reveal that the most dominant signal is clockwise rotating motion at the near-inertial frequency band. Upward phase and downward energy propagations, shown in time-depth contour plots of near-inertial bandpass filtered currents, are confirmed by cross correlations between the upper- and lower-layer current measurements. The upward-propagating phase speed is estimated to be about 0.13 cm $s^{-1}$ at both sites. Significant coherences and in-phase relationships of near-inertial currents at the same or similar depths between the two sites are observed in spite of their long distance of about 110 km.

Torque control method and turn of nut method are specified as clamping method of high strength bolts in the steel construction specifications. Quality control of torque coefficient is essential activity because torque control method, which is presently adopted as clamping method in domestic construction sites, is affected by variation of torque coefficient. The clamping of torque shear bolt is based on KS B 2819. It was misunderstood that the tension force of the TS bolt was induced generally at the break of pin-tail specified. However, the clamping forces on slip critical connections do not often meet the intended tension, as it considerably varies due to torque coefficient dependent on the environmental factors and temperature variables despite the break of the pin tail.This study was focused to evaluate the effect of environmental factors and errors of installing bolts during tightening high strength bolts. The environmental parameters were composed of 'wet' condition, 'rust' condition, 'only exposure to air' condition. And the manufacture of trial product was planned to identify the induced force into the bolts. The algorithm for a trial product was composed of the relation between electricity energy taken from torque shear wrench and tension force from hydraulic tension meter.

Ultraviolet curable coating solution was prepared with poly(ethylene glycol) acrylate oligomer and various mono and multi-functional acrylate monomers. The optical properties of UV cured coating layer on PET film with acrylate coating solution containing metal oxides, such as fumed silica and alumina, were also investigated to reduce light reflection on films. Poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate which has 575 of average molecular weight was used as oligomer acrylate, and pentaerythritol triacrylate and dipentaerythritolpenta-/hexa acrylate were used as multi-functional acrylate monomers. Also, butyl acrylate was used to improve the adhesion as well as to reduce glass transition temperature to give a better flexability. 1-hydroxy cyclohexyl phenyl ketone was used as photoinitiator. We found out the metal oxides in acrylate coating solution showed a homogeneous dispersion from energy dispersive spectroscopy data. Transmittance and light reflection of coated PET film was measured with UV/vis spectrometer and gloss meter, respectively. When 1.00 g of both metal oxides was added into coating solution, the transmittance and the glossiness were reduced from 90% to 30% and from 190 GU to 35 GU, respectively. However, adding up to 1.00 g of the metal oxide into coating solution did not affect on the hardness of coating layer and adhesion between coated layer and PET film. Conclusively, we can control transmittance and light reflection of coated film by adjusting the amounts of metal oxide in coating solution.
Purpose - This study conducts an empirical analysis on gasoline pricing of Korean retail gas stations focusing on spatial effects. Unlike previous studies, the study uses an official land price for a proxy of the importance of location, and also allows the spatial effects from other competing gas stations as well. Research design, data, and methodology - In collection of data, we obtain more abundant data than those of previous studies. The gasoline prices used in the study are 909,084 observations as daily data from January 1 to July 31 of the year 2016. A proxy for the land price is collected by linking official public land price data with address information on each gas station. For the estimation, the study employs the Panel Spatial Dubin Model to make the best use of the collected location information. Results - As expected, spatial properties of gas stations have significant effects on the gasoline price. As the price per square meter increases by 100 thousands won, the price of gasoline rises 9 won per liter. Among other characteristics, the price increases by 16 won per liter if the station has a convenience store, and about 5 won if it has a car wash service. Gasoline price in Singapore accounted for 26% of variations in domestic gasoline prices. SK Energy and GS Caltex are the top brands in terms of price. The study also finds prices and other important properties of competing gas stations have significant effects on others' prices. Prices of competing gas station have a positive relationship with those of others. If a competing gas station raises the price, the gas station also raises the price, and lowering the price lower the price. Among brands, GS Caltex has the greatest downward pressure on nearby gas stations. Conclusions - The study confirms that location value of gas stations affect their gasoline prices, and the prices of the competing gas stations also have a significant effects on their prices. It suggests that the prices in the competing retail areas tend to be synchronized with each other.

In this study it is intended to review the moving characteristics of smoke by performing visualization for calculation of the optimal smoke exhaust air volume in case a fire occurs in tunnels where transverse ventilation is applied, and to obtain basic data necessary for design of the smoke exhaust systems by deriving optimal smoke exhaust operational conditions under various conditions. As a result of this study, if it was assumed 0 critical velocity in the tunnel, the smoke exhaust air volume was limited within 250 meter in the road-tunnel disaster prevention indicator and the exhaust efficiency was from 55.1% to 95.8% in the result of this study. In case of oversized exhaust ports, the generated smoke is more than the case of uniform exhaust. When the critical velocity in the tunnel is 1.75 m/s and 2.5 m/s, the optimal smoke exhaust air volume has to be more than $173\;m^3/s$, $236\;m^3/s$ for the distance of the moving smoke which can limit the distance to 250 m.
