Electro-pneumatic valve is an electro-mechanical device which converts electric signal into pneumatic flow mu or pressure. A measurement of dynamic response time is very important to evaluate valve performance. Dynamic response time of electro-pneumatic valve has a variation accordance with valve types, operating way and test standard. In this study, automatic measurement system of dynamic response time is composed based on test condition of dynamic response time test standard(CETOP, JIS). Also, in this study test pressure variation characteristics accordance with variation of solenoid excitation power, and we developed dynamic response measurement system enable to compare of and analyze these two characteristics.

We propose the concept of incident angle of complex number and analyze planar optical waveguides by applying the concept. The incident angle of complex number is concerned with the modeling of prism-gap-waveguide structures. It is shown that, when optical waveguides are analyzed by use of the transfer matrix method, the proposed concept enable us to find solutions faster and more accurately than ghatak's method which introduces the leaky structure.

UBV observations have been made jointly at three observatories for the recent eclipse of the long period atmospheric eclipsing binary star Zeta Aur in 1995-6. Observations covered successfully the phases before, during, and after the eclipse enable us to determine the accurate time of mid-eclipse and the duration of the totality. The hypothesis of the expansion of the K supergiant has been tested and the positive conclusion may be derived.

Flow around Savonius rotor is studied by means of the numerical simulation. Three-dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes equations are solved numerically. Overgrid system is employed in order to enable the flow calculation of complex geometry. The basic equations in each region are solved by using the standard MAC method. The physical quantities such as the velocity and the pressure among each region are transferred through the overlapping region which is common in each region. Some numerical results of static and rotating rotor will be presented.

The most important aim of mathematics education is to promote mathematical thinking. In the Hong Kong primary school, mathematical thinking is usually conducted through the use of formula and working on "application problem" or "word problems". However, there are many other ways that can promote mathematical thinking, and investigation on mathematical structure by using counting is one important source for promoting mathematical thinking for primary school children, as every children can count and hence a well designed question that can be solved by counting can enable children of different abilities to work together and obtain different results.

An elastic buckling analysis of single hat rectangular tubes is carried out. Based on Bleich's buckling theory for elastically restrained plates, a method to estimate the compliance of the supporting plates for the buckling plate and to compensate the effects of compression force acting on the supporting plates is offered. Necessary assumptions which enable an analytic approach to be used are also given. The present results are compared with the finite element results obtained from ABAQUS.

The goal of telecommunication may be to enable the participants in distant places to communicate with each other in an environment as if they were in the same room. This paper introduces the reason why realistic audio display is useful in telecommunication, reviews some approaches to its implementation, and proposes an audio teleconference model which realizes a two-way telecommunication with realistic sensations using binaural and auralization techniques.

In this paper, we propose new algorithms to construct video object planes(VOP’s) for MPEG-4. VOP’s allow the new video standard MPEG-4 to enable content-based funtionalities. A comprehensive review summarizes some of the most important VOP’s generation techniques that have been proposed. The proposed algorithm use segmentation technique as labeling and motion estimation as three-step search algorithm(TSS). It is improved by a labeling technique that distinguishes background and object from a frame.

In this Paper, Bit selectable and Bi-directional Interface Port is described, which can communicate data with the peripheral devices. Specially A description of the asynchronous design method is given to remove the clock skew phenomenon and the output asynchronous control method which finds the optimal clock and controls all the enable signal of the output pins at the same time is presented. Using this technique interface ports have delay time of less-than 0.5㎱.

We propose a divide-conquer method of Petri nets under the condition of one-boundedness for all the Petri nets. We introduce the P-invariant transitive matrix of Petri nets and relationship between them. The feature of the P-invariant transitive matrix is that each element stands for the transitive relationship between input place and output place through the firing of the enable transition.
