In this study, the Department of Library & Information Science's Students are including their cognitive for the employment prospects of library information, it wants to know satisfaction with current curriculum, job preparation, and requirements for job - related programs. The result, first of all, the students of the field of employment hope was that the library was the field of employment and the public library was the highest one of them. Second, areas of employment were that the Seoul Gyeonggi-do Province showed the highest regardless of the location of the university. Third, the satisfaction of the university curriculum is high, It appeared to be desirable that was field - based employment program. Fourth, The difficulty in preparing for employment was the lack of employment information. Fifth, The factors influencing job choice were working conditions, retirement benefits, welfare benefits, and remuneration. Therefore, to increase the employment rate of students, it was required by the establishment of job information system, reinforcement of field - based training courses, and improvement of local employment conditions and the environment.
There were many studies conducted on economical aspects of employment among the elderly in national level, however, very few studies examined social and psychological aspects of senior employment and employment preferences of the elderly persons. The purposes of this study were to examine major determinants of decision making in employment, and to explore some relationships among decision making of employment, socio-economic factors, health and psycho-social factors, and labor and economical factors among non-working elderly persons in the community. In all, two-hundred-twenty elderly persons were interviewed and one-hundred-ninety-four were analyzed in this study. The descriptive statistics, analysis of variance, correlation analysis, and logistic regression were used for the data analysis in this study. The study found that the respondent's sex, ages, education, numbers of children, physical health, ADL, self-efficacy, economical stress, numbers of years in labor, asset of real estate, family allowances, and the benefit levels of pension were major determinants of decision making in employment among non-working elderly persons. Finally, some implications were discussed for developing effective senior employment in national policy, job related services, and welfare programs of the elderly persons for the successful aging.
Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the factors influencing inadequate energy intake among Korean elderly. Methods: Our study included 1,869 elderly people (over 60 years old) who completed a dietary survey from the fifth Korean NHANES (2010). Factors that could affect the nutritional status of the elderly included age, family status, socio-economic factors (education, family income, livelihood security, employment), and health related factors (having chronic disease, functional status, diet therapy, depression, and suicidal thoughts). Energy and protein intake were assessed using the dietary intake data from 24hr recall method. Results: The percentage of people who consumed energy less than 75% of EEA for Koreans was 23.7% in men, 31.1% in women. The carbohydrate contribution to the total energy intake in the inadequate energy intake group was significantly higher than that in the adequate intake group (p < 0.05). Factors significantly related to inadequate energy intake after adjusting for age, family status, education, family income, employment, functional status, and suicidal thoughts were education (OR: 1.480 in men, 1.614 in women) and employment (OR: 1.751 in men, 1.464 in women), age 70 years or older in men (OR: 1.475), and living with family but without spouse in women (OR: 1.496). Conclusion: In summary, the results imply that energy intake of elderly would be affected by the status of social environment with aging and nutrition-related policy for Korean elderly should be based on the social status as well as health related conditions.
Objectives : The purpose of this study is to measure employment stress of health college students and to consider a proper means for the solution. Methods : The population of the research is some randomly chosen health college students located in Seoul City during the period from May 10 to June 11 2010, and the sample of 295 students were recruited as the analysis object group. The data on general characteristics and employment stress were collected by a questionnaire survey. The collected data were analyzed with the SPSS WIN 12.0 program. The following shows the results of this study. Results : 1. Mean scores of employment stress in female students were significantly higher than those in male(p<0.01). 2. Employment stress level was significantly higher in low group of home economy, competence for a schoolwork, personal relations, satisfaction in campus life. 3. In regression analysis, home economy, competence for a schoolwork, satisfaction in campus life were proved as significant factors that is related to the employment stress(p<0.01). In other words, It is significant statistically that the lower home economy, competence for a schoolwork, satisfaction in campus life, the higher employment stress level (p<0.05). Conclusions : I suggest with the result of the study that for coping effectively employment stress of health college students, we will need to open an exclusive employment counsel window for better administration welfare service in campus. Because of students are independent responsibility of employment, active effort must take precedence in order for the solution of problem by themselves. Also, we will need to create better academic environment and show more concern, consideration, love in family.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing health-related quality of life among spouses of older adults with dementia based on an ecological model. Methods: This study used data from the 2015 Korean Community Health Survey with the subjects of 541 spouses of older adults with dementia. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, ANOVA, and hierarchical multiple regression. Results: In this study, 26.5% of quality of life was explained by employment status, physical activity, perception of stress, perception of depressive symptom, self-rated health status, self-rated oral health status, and contact with neighbors. Conclusion: To develop more effective nursing intervention for improvement of quality of life, it needs to consider not only the individual system related factors but also community system related factors including contact with neighbors.
Purpose: This study identified socioeconomic factors affecting the health status of Korean adults. Methods: Secondary data from 12,921 adults aged 19 to 64 old in the 7th Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey were used. The participants' health status was measured using the indicators that included health behaviors (smoking, high-risk drinking, strength exercise, and aerobic physical activity) and health outcomes (metabolic syndrome, and subjective health status). Results: For all health behaviors and health outcomes, gender, age, educational level, and income were common affecting factors. Regarding health behaviors, the employment status was related to smoking, high-risk drinking, strength exercise, and aerobic physical activity. The marital status was related to high-risk drinking, strength exercise, and aerobic physical activity. The household type was related to smoking. The residential area was related to smoking, high-risk drinking, and aerobic physical activity. For health outcomes, the household type was related to obesity, and subjective health status; residential area was related to obesity. Conclusion: This study presented basic data for assessing the differences in health status. The characteristics of the affecting factors to health status should be considered, depending on the health behaviors and health outcomes.
Exposure factors based on the Korean population are required for making appropriate risk assessment. It is expected that handbooks for exposure factors will be applied in many fields, as well as by health department risk assessors. The present article describes the development of an exposure factors handbook that specifically focuses on human activities in situations involving the possible risk of exposure to environmental contaminants. We define majour exposure factors that represent behavioral patterns for risk assessment, including time spent on routine activities, in different places, on using transportation, and engaged in activities related to water contact including swimming, bathing and washing. Duration of residence and employment are also defined. National survey data were used to identify recommended levels of exposure factors in terms of time spent on routine activities and period of residence and employment. An online survey was conducted with 2073 subjects who were selected using a stratified random sampling method in order to develop a list of exposure factors for the time spent in different places and in performing water-related activities. We provide the statistical distribution of the variables, and report reference levels of average exposure based on the reliable data in our exposure factors handbook.
Purpose: This study aims to identify the types of health-related quality of life (QoL) based on the EuroQoL 5 Dimensions among community older people and predict the factors affecting these types. Methods: This study used data from the 2016 Korea Health Panel Survey, whose participants included 3,848 older people. The data were analyzed using the software jamovi 1.2.17 and Mplus 8.2 for latent class analysis. Results: The subgroups of the older people's health-related QoL were identified as three latent classes: General stable type (43.9%), pain-related low type (35.0%), and general low type (21.1%). The types and characteristics of health-related QoL among the latent classes differed. Comparing the difference between the general low type and general stable type, the subjects showed higher probability of belonging to the general stable type when they were men, younger, higher education level, employment, better subjective health, lower BMI and stress level, and no suicidal ideation. A comparison between the general low type and the pain-related low type showed that the subjects were more likely to be classified as the pain-related low type when they were younger, higher education, employment, and better subjective health. Conclusion: The results showed a significant heterogeneity in the types of health-related QoL among community older people, and the predictors for each type were not the same. These findings present basic data for cultivating nursing interventions that enhance health-related QoL.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the role performance and related factors of clinical research nurses (CRN) in the process of clinical trials of new drug development. Methods: Study participants were CRN whose affiliation was in non-capital areas and who had been working longer than three months at the time of the data collection. The data collection was conducted with a semi-structured questionnaire development by Hwang & Go, 2011 comprising 16 items of participants' characteristics and 60 items of role performance via in-person and online. Additionally, opinions which would be necessary to establish the CRN role were questioned for the future. A total of 141 questionnaires of 151 questionnaires responses were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, and ANOVA for data analysis as appropriate. Results: The level of overall role performance was above average (5.61±0.90) with the highest in subject care (6.04 ± 0.96) and management and the lowest in self-development (4.39 ± 1.52). The only factor affecting overall role performance was employment status and the only sub-category affected by factors of employment status, and some general characteristics was self-development. Conclusion: From study results, it can be concluded that the CRN seem to perform their proper role. Nonetheless, self-development should be considered as critical aspect for better CRN competency, which is an important aspect toward improving the CRN role performance. Additionally, efforts to improve the level of role performance must be established through stable employment and concrete departmental placement as suggested in this study.
The first job of university graduates is the beginning of career development, and it has a great influence on a personal life in the transition process of a labor market later. The study has compared and analyzed the effects of major variables (whether or not one participates in the career and employment programs, the satisfaction in the education infrastructure and curriculum) related to university education that determine the satisfaction in the first job of graduates from the entire university of 4-year general courses and the engineering college with experiences of having the first job. Through this, it is meaningful to make it possible for the design of university education related to career and employment tailored to the engineering college. The results of 2017 Graduate Occupational Mobility Survey were used as the data for analysis, which was analyzed by the decision tree analysis. As it was found that the most important factor determining the satisfaction in the first job was student welfare facilities for the entire graduates among education infrastructure and was major curriculum and its content among education curriculum for the graduates from the engineering college, it was analyzed that factors related to majors were more important compared to other majors in the engineering college. The customized major curriculum and content should be considered as a priority, taking into account of the demand of the industry for the successful settlement of graduates from the engineering college in a labor market.
